Would you like to watch more videos giving an overview of major history books? It seems a bit of a gap on RUclips to me. Let me know what you think below. And you can buy my new book From the Burning Archive: Essays and Fragments here www.amazon.com.au/Burning-Archive-Essays-Fragments-2015-2021-ebook/dp/B0BMLSX5RC/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2NROXDLDAFRV3&keywords=jeff+rich&qid=1669668017&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjczIiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=jeff+ric%2Caps%2C627&sr=8-2

Thanks, you reminded me that I have read this. It has left zero impression on my memory. What is Empire? It didn't answer this question. What is the role of the individual person? It didn't answer it as well. The collection of facts, but what is the importance of the facts? I will buy your book, and read it, maybe just for the improvement of my own writing, but, I hope to find the answers to my questions. The nature of the human, it's duality, the beast and the man in one. Who will win at the end? Do we use our brains only to satisfy our beasts? It seems this way to me. Does the Man have a chance? Steppenwolf lost it. The man without integration into the society loses it. Do you need the rational brain to live in a society, or you need it to become an alpha? When one is an alpha does he care for the society? Alpha is never alone, it is a leader of the tribe or a clan, it is a spider in a center of the net. Each node of the human net has a beta. EQUALITY 😂😂😂😂 is a dream aka a bate.

At the core of all intentions of gain, there are strategies of power.
Understand the strategies of power, and one understands what truly happened.
The weak link in all historical analyses are human beings. Human beings have an uncanny ability to try to paint everything into versions of events which are beneficial to the own populations' feelings which then distorts reality.

Thank you, this video is very clear and helpful since History books are rather expensive is excellent to have a more deep view of them before buying it 🤓

Can you recommend a book about geopolitics from World War II to the 1990s? I'm particularly looking fot something that focuses on more than just the US and the Soviet Union.

great question. I am going to go into depth on the post-1945 chapter of Darwin, After Tamerlane soon. That is very good. So check that out when I post it to the channel. Vladislav Zubok is publishing a new history of the Cold War in early 2025, which will be essential reading I think too.

6:02 - Actually Ferguson wrote his book AFTER Darwin's. And if you suggest that he was writing from a conservative (right-wing) POV, you should also mention Darwin's opposite views. It's always best to start with the historian personal views (however well they try to hide it).

You make a good point. I quite like Niall Ferguson on some issues. I don't know about John Darwin's personal views, but will follow up a link if you can send me one. Thanks
