  • The Jvari Monastery is a sixth-century Georgian Orthodox monastery. It has survived to the present day almost unchanged. It is a big tourist attraction but also attracts many worshippers. It is located beautifully at a mountaintop at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the town of Mtskheta. The two rivers create a beautiful mixing zone. The benefit of camping nearby is that we could wait for beautiful light, and visit when not busy.
On the way out we visited the MAN dealer to get a noise checked (all was ok according to them). Unfortunately, we clipped a traffic sign shortly after. With the help of a friendly Azerbaijani truck driver we managed to straighten things out again. We hope it holds until we are back in NL.
