  • To the shock of 17th-century society, a woman is invited to design a garden at King Louis XIV’s glorious Palace of Versailles. Written, directed by and starring Alan Rickman as the Sun King himself, A Little Chaos is a rich imagining of how new ideas in horticulture could bring new life and romance to a stuffy royal court. At 19:02: "I really don't know what social media is all about, but i did manage to press this button called RUclips"... dear Alan, if only you could see yourself on RUclips now, and how many people love and miss you.

    I miss you Alan, every single day. This interview broke my heart, knowing you're not here now. The world is emptier without you. You bring the light and love and best things to us. The way you answer, the way you tell a story, it's adorable, it's incredibly brilliant. I miss you, miss your voice, your smile. Stay well up there my dearest.

    "... don't get my hands dirty.... it's just that it will die... " "Weirdly I don't spend my life watching myself..." Love how he was able to throw such unexpected hilarious lines in a serious conversation. He was such an intelligent witty man but most of all he had such an nice gentle personality. Great actor and a great man.

    “When it’s finished you let it go and move on.” Wise words we all should practice. And his response to fans not moving on “Well, tough!” This honestly helped me so much to move on with my life. Just a few words from someone I don’t even know could help me change my perspective on something I’ve been trying to achieve for years. Thank you so much Alan Rickman. Rest In Peace.

    Adored this movie for many reasons: Alan Rickman as a director as well as an actor, history coming alive, how the king acts when he's around his family, Kate Winslet's careful preparation for the role, but mostly I love a story where a protagonist (especially a non-male role) overcomes incredible odds and wins. I wish Alan Rickman had had more time with us.

    I really love the character of Snape, I truly do... but it kinda baffles me that even though Alan is clearly promoting a new movie, they still want to hear about Snape... I really appreciated that young actor's question, that gave Rickman the chance to share something else. It feels like Alan just had way more to say, but never got asked...

    • @sergioalmasy8722
      @sergioalmasy8722 2 года назад +5

      I agree, there could have been more questions with substance, and Alan would have been pleased to answer these. Instead, there were one or two silly questions that came up.

    • @debbiecalnan9327

      I've read, regarding other interviews, that he only allows one or two questions about Snape as he doesn't want the greater focus there. He values all of his work for so many different reasons. He is a well-rounded person.

    26:17- when you read that article that details how Alan wrote letters saying he was displeased/frustrated with “that director”, remember how he read through the Harry Potter series raking for little moments to put into the films... so essential in carefully crafting the character we love so.

    Loved this interview, Alan is always so lovely. Butttt, I cringed so so hard when that fan said he’s ”the bravest man she ever knew” and he didn’t hear/get the reference from HP. Like giiirl, I know you mean well but nooo don’t! And the interviewer didn’t get it either ahhh! Made me want to sink into the ground and I wasn’t even there

      I think the fan is oriental, even with her coming across as nervous had a slight problem expressing what she wanted to say in English. She was expressing a concept that is normal in her culture that was clearly lost in her Western translation. Albeit meaning a highest form of complement given to an elder, it inadvertently carried a cringe factor. But I do get your point.

    I’ll always adore Alan Rickman but I did kinda question the answer he gave about reading the Harry Potter books. He said he read them but that comment that woman says, calling him the “bravest man I’ve ever known”, just flew right over his head. Lol I doubt he read all of them. Maybe just the Snape parts. Lol Good interview overall though.

    • @ftwf666
      @ftwf666 4 года назад +21

      Disagree with you. He mustn't remember every line from every film or book. And just because it means so much to all potterheads doesn't necessarily mean the same to an adult actor, especially when he always was saying things like: move on or get a live :)

    • @debbiecalnan9327

      Perhaps it just escaped him for the moment as he did say that you have to read all of it to know the narrative to know what to suggest might work.

    Women don't have anything in print to speak of about the Buddy System with safety awareness and self defense. So many millions of things are in print for men. Police, military, hunting and anything men do has 2 in 2 out, safety and self defense in print every month. Women magazines and all newspapers need to print information about the Buddy System for women. Can you imagine a world safe for women? I love this movie, "A Little Chaos."

    • @CharlotteFairchild

      Spencer Tunick gets people to go nude for art in the thousands. That amazes me because a workshop that teaches people to say no, and everyone keeps their clothes on scares people for a group of 8, while 5000 people can get in a group and go naked? How odd is that? It is quite odd for me to think about modesty and safety as a nude person, and modesty and safety with all our clothes on.
