  • Back in August, I headed to Montreal to buy a carload of SGIs including an Onyx, Origin200, Octane2, O2, and plenty of parts and miscellaneous bits. I finally got around to editing it into a video, so here it is! These systems will definitely be appearing in future videos, so stay tuned.
    -- Contact Me --
Please don't use any RUclips contact features, I never read them. If you need to get in touch, please contact me on Reddit as a private message to /u/DodoDude700 or comment on one of my videos.
    -- How I make my videos --
I use Final Cut Pro on my custom built Xeon E3 Hackintosh, and film with a Canon EOS 60D. I use a pair of large fluorescent studio lights for most of my work, but may use various other types if filming away from the room I usually film in. I have a really overfilled lab, which is usually where I dig up the tech seen in my videos.
-- ALL TRADEMARKS AND IMAGES BELONG TO THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS --
I do not claim to own any of the trademarks mentioned in my videos. Some images may be obtained from third party sources. If you need to contact me for legal reasons, please use one of the above contact methods.
    -- Music --
The music used in the Dodoid and Dodoid Advent Calendar intros is AdhesiveWombat - Bombs. Other AdhesiveWombat songs are sometimes used. The music used in this video is Bitclic - Hollow.

I've been wanting to know also. The price info is not in his new video reviewing this either.

Found his post on reddit. He has spent QUOTE: "$600 CAD ($476 USD) for the whole lot.", which is a steal quite frankly.

Thanks! I am definitely getting fluent in Final Cut, so I suppose now my attention is turning to editing style.

I’m curios as to what something that cost more than a modest home in the 90’s costed you today. Did it depreciate like a $100,000 luxury car for the same era or did it hold more value.

Considering that he is what - 16? - and has his dad haul these gems back home in a minivan, I am pretty sure it retained about 1/100 of it's original price.

I know this is unrelated to the video but what happend to your 2015 MacbookPro

I bought it in 2015 as an all-around laptop for most of the stuff I did. It was a nice machine, and I used it a lot, but I had a few gripes about it. The CPU was slow and the machine ran extremely hot, which sucked for a box I expected to run Final Cut Pro. The SSD was just on the edge of big enough (it worked fine, and I used it, but I had to watch my storage consumption). The battery really didn't live up to expectations. I also found the form factor kind of awkward. The screen was too small to use as a desktop replacement, but still to big to carry around everywhere, so I ended using my desktop most of the time, and carrying around a bag when I did need a laptop. It did fit in my backpack, so I used it as my primary school laptop for a few months, but theft was a serious risk, as was constant wear from daily transport. One or two months into the year, I bought an extremely cheap ASUS laptop. It had a 10.1" screen, 1GB of RAM, the battery life was shockingly small for such a low power consumption CPU, and an insanely slow processor, but it was so cheap that nobody would want to steal it, and if it broke it was worth nothing anyway. I liked it, but didn't really use it outside of school (I still had the MacBook). Later, I bought a ThinkPad R61, which was quite old and only cost me $40, but I liked the TrackPoint and durability so much I actually started using it instead of the MacBook. Within a week or two, I bought my current X220. It was smaller than the MacBook, faster than the ASUS, had a trackpoint like the R61, was less appealing to thieves due to the "acquired taste" appearance, and could survive the constant wear of transportation. I pretty much completely stopped using the MacBook the day I bought my X220. It sat in the corner of my room for a month or two before I sold it and got most of my money back.

This Onyx perfomance is barely 3 GFLOPS at it's best options available. My smartphone CPU can do 9 GFLOPS and GPU more than 1 TFLOPS... Can sell you for 250K$ 😅🤣😂

Hi. Cool hunt. You're a wealthy guy (what's your job if that's ok to ask)?
It's nice they have all that and it's almost intact and really affordable.

400mhz processor (fastest ever made), 512MB RAM, CRM graphics like on any other O2, 18GB hard disk, repaired CD-ROM, new case design, A/V module, O2Cam. Please PM me on Nekochan if you want to discuss price.
