You can tell that she's a legit vocal teacher. There are so many questionable self-proclaimed vocal teachers here on RUclips who can't even tell the difference between a vocal run and vibrato.

Patience is a virtue and I'm so thrilled I waited for your reaction to my absolute favorite artist for almost the last 2 years! She's in the "one of the world's best kept secrets hiding in plain sight" type of singers. The fact I'm from the US and found her, has been one of the best blessings ever. Music feeds the soul and she feeds mine. Great reaction! I can’t believe you were able to sound so beautiful when you gave us those examples of the subtle differences in sounds! lol not too many reactors can do THAT! But it’s great cuz for someone who can’t sing a lick, but really loves music, it was great to be given those examples because I couldn’t have fully understood what you meant without those examples, thanks for the insight! Oh and this woman’s really got it all.. she was sitting down? Live on a radio station with that radio guys voice all up in her way in the beginning and at the end? When you see a singer lose themselves in the song like this it’s usually special.. and this was special.

It’s technically violating copyrights the first second the video was posted. If Wish wasn’t paying a mechanical license for the song, then it’s understandable it would be removed, especially since it’s gotten such attention.

I love Morissette, but I have to say this: Tara, of all the vocal coach reactions online, you have the most insightful analysis of performances. I'm not a singer, so hearing your insight makes me appreciate singers more because of the techniques and artistry that you point out that I totally miss.
i'm Korean and I expected every Filipinos to be good at singing. and then I went to PH only to find out people genuinely love singing there! If they have resources or proper production companies. their future will be greater in the industry!

I love how she's point out everything she's hearing on Morissette and knowing that she's live and sitting down. As someone who knows how to sing, I can back her up with everything she's said. I hope you continue listening to us Filipinos. Even though I know a lot about singing already, you always amaze me and teach me good techniques on some runs. ^^

I've always heard people say how its harder to sing while sitting down. You are the first one to explain the reason why. Very informative. I hope you react more to Morisette. My take of her reaction is that she is not as impressed as she was expecting to be. She liked it but not as impressed as Dimash or So Hyang videos. She's not as excited after watching. That's my impression of her reaction.

My reasons are, I like Morisette because I don’t know what to expect and what kind of version she will do to a song next, for me it’s always a mystery as to what twist and style she will infuse to a song and I am a Filipino as well as her.I like Coach Tara because her dissection of a song is on the spot and it’s helping me as an amateur singer plus we are both lives in Atlanta. @lo l First and foremest, it helps promoting Original Pinoy Music (OPM). 2nd it show case more of her vocal range and voice control. From her runs, belting and of course, her whistle register.

In my 18 years as a professional vocalist in the Philippines i must say Miss Tara should be the GOLD STANDARD of vocal coaching online.. her coaching style reminds me a lot of my past vocal teachers (ive had several) here in the Philippines... This level of coaching only comes with experience in the music industry and majority of good to great vocal teachers in the Philippines are in their 50s or older because to be considered a good vocal coach in the Philippines youll need singing credentials (a lot of it).. in the Philippines- graduating from music school or releasing an album of your own songs does not even qualify you as a vocal coach here (unlike almost all the vocal coaches i see on youtube whose faces look like theyre just in their 20s or 30s)... I sing for a living for 18 yrs here in the Philippines and i feel i have not earned the right to qualify myself as a coach and yet a lot of foreign youtubers proclaim they are.. if you find "vocal coach youtubers" who dont actually vocalize what they preach or cant identify and articulate the complexity and level of difficulty of singing that Morisette Amon does IN THE FIRST 60 seconds of her song (like what Miss Tara is doing).. i guarantee you that that is a BS coach about to rip you off.. heck! most wont even qualify to teach my kids IMHO....
Well said, and your humility and respect are admirable. Just before turning to Tara, I was listening to a vocal coach duo. I stopped it before the end because it was like listening to politician spewing out the trendy "terminology" but not being applicable or appropriate. Also, they didn't even have the correct technical terminology. One literally said, "That thing she did with her voice." I've never actually taken vocal lessons. I took 10 years of piano lessons and recognize that Tara is legit and not just trending for the moment just for the $.

@@nickjohnson811 No disrespect to Morissette, as she has an outstanding and beautiful voice. However, Yuja Wang is an incredibly gifted child prodigy pianist. The level of skill it takes to master the most technically complicated pieces as she does and add her own interpretation and arrangement is almost on a supernatural level. Even playing since I was 7 years old, I don't have that natural prodigy-level ability. There's something that exists that was not taught to her, only developed by teaching. Even if I had dedicated my life to being a concert pianist (I'm an accountant), I wouldn't be able to play as well as her. Her talent is a gift.

It really really helped me to hear a professional say the transitions between registers add that little bit of magic as apposed to those who are 'Classically trained' singers who perfect fluidity. I have been shot down many times by individuals who claim to be classically trained and degrade my voice because of 'over used vibrato' or 'vocal cracks and a vocal fry' being seen as 'not proper'. I am glad you mentioned this! I'd love a vocal coach again ❤️
