I'll be running this test in morning. I replaced the cap, sensor , etc etc . But will run this test to see if I got a bad sensor. TYVM !!! Good Video !!
Hi Mate , I couldn't find a video on this any where. Thank you...... However..... I got different readings depending if I had the red probe on the first pin. Or the black probe on the first pin... I got OL touching the other 2 pins using the red probe on the first Pin .But if I put the black probe on the first pin then I got around 28 m ohms on the second pin and OL on the third. Now I'm not sure if I should go out and buy another sensor , because you only showed one way ...
My 1996 Cherokee has the same issue. Im getting less than half a volt to the coil.. so I replaced the distributor pick up coil, the coil, the crank sensor, ecu, the plugs, wires, and rotor cap. Still hasn’t fixed the problem. I checked and I’m getting 12 volts to the asd fuse
which ohms setting did you set it on ? my tester has 3-4 ohms setting . I had the same problem . jeep ran and sat for a month and now just cranks over no spark and replaced just about everthing else and jeep has no codes
@@floaley I'm looking for a solution to a "no spark" issue I have. I cut and pasted for convenience my post on another: Ok, I'm here searching for tips and help me solve a gremlin in my no start situation. I have a 92 2.5l 5 sp manual fuel injection YJ. Short story, a few weeks ago I was on the trail, nothing crazy mind you and it just decided to stop dead in its tracks. Try to start, didn't hear the fuel pump so I figured it went out, had it towed to camp, drop the tank, new fuel pump still no go. Now all the troubleshooting begins. Checked Relays, fuses all good, changed ignition switch, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, coil, ignition coil pick/cam sensor, CPS, ECU all changed. Still no spark! Started probing and checking wires. The ECU is sending signal to the coil. When I turn the key on, the test light lights up, but goes away with cranking, no pulsing like in your video. The other wire as in your video should have 12v full time or just when key is on? either way there is no 12v at the other terminal of the coil plug when probed. I did the test on the coil as in your video, all readings are good! The fuel rail pressurizes and holds at 31, all lights, accessories, radio, dome, turn, brake, running lights, everything works. I'm just not getting spark and for the life of me can't figure out why. I am here looking for something that I have not yet tested, changed or figured out yet. So, all you YJ peeps here I am looking for guidance. I've had this Jeep 13 years now and been really good overall. This time, it has me baffled! HELP!
@@klb1956 Since writing my comment I have fixed my 95 wrangler 4.0L 5 speed manual fuel injected beast. It turned out to be the crank shaft sensor. The one inside of the distributor. I replaced a lot of the ignition system before I found the part all corroded. I would have saved a lot of time if I just ran the code and went straight to replacing what it said to. It was actually a really simple fix. Since my jeep sat for a long time I ended up redoing the fuel filter, lines, brakes and many other parts. But in the end at least I had a pretty new ignition system. These jeeps are pretty much bulletproof. For your situation… I honestly couldn’t tell you what is going on. I had a lot of success taking my issues to the jeep forum. A lot of smart jeep mechanics will tell you what’s up. I feel your pain though. Because I was replacing shit and no spark. I have faith you will come across your answer if you keep searching and working hard. To me it sounds like you have literally replaced everything. Maybe the jeep forum guys have some ideas? It’s worth a shot. Good luck on your endeavors! It’ll be worth it to hear the rumble again!
Hey boss so we replaced the distributor and the crank sensor also the camshaft sensor it started right up then we let it sit for about an hour then crank no start any idea what I can do to get it sparking again ???
