We have hardwood floors in the dining room and living room. Since theyre not in the main traffic zone I don't have to do it often. It helps to maintain them with a hardwood renewing lotion once in a while, because it keeps the surface smooth and dirt doesn't stick that easily. We also all take our shoes off, which is in our culture. Even guests will adk if they shoukd take them off and most households offer guest houseshoes to keep everyone's feet warm.
