I think the ledge double peg test was not accurate, since the more often you grind, the smoother the ledge gets since the rough surface of the stone will get filled with plastic from previous pegs.. still great video!
That is a VERY good point and I failed to include it in the video, but I did try and wipe down/scrape up any plastic on the ledge in-between each test to keep it clean. As best as possible at least. That being said, you're correct that could play some factor, but probably not as much since each take was fairly cleaned off. Good call.
@@likamuuk For sure. I mentioned it while filming the feeble grind portion, but quickly realized during editing that whole thing was so boring lol. Completely forgot about that part until your comment! I'll try and find it and post to RUclips stories. Thanks.
Thanks for the great video. I just don't understand why some of the more common and highly regarded pegs such as the Eclat Venom peg, Primo HD peg, Odessey graduate peg, BSD rude tube peg, Animal BENNY L signature peg and MERRITT GFE peg are not included in the review? We are waiting for the second round.
We went off some of our more popular options that we sell here at the shop. There are certainly others I'd like to revisit in the future. The Merritt pegs especially as they've already challenged us to put them to the test.
Been riding the fiction troop pegs and they have served me well. Only been riding like 6months. But my friend’s bike shop went outa business so I bought his stock of joystick sleeves for super cheap. He ended up giving me his pegs to go with them too. I love the troops, but they’re chromo, joysticks are aluminum. People say the 6160 bends/breaks/dents then you can’t remove the wheel. Ever have this issue?
Thermalite has to be the best plastic in the business, stolen doesn't really get any credit but their plastic/rubber is up there with my faaaave. (their bar-ends are a real gem!)
Pretty neat.. Recently ordered a few pegs from different makers, not that I am the best trickster lol. I've got 3 Shadow Conspiracy Little Ones pegs, previous owner had 2 on the bike for his kids. I ordered 2 more off Amazon and sadly 1 came used, literally looked like someone took a grinder to it. Sent it back for a refund and need to find a different store for the 4th. I did buy a few pegs off GTs sale. I ordered a set of Safe Street BMX Peg Sleeves and realized I might have forgotten something lol, needed to watch this video to understand "Sleeves" hehe. I wound up ordering 3 more sets (2 black 1 chrome) and can't wait for them to arrive!
Stolen silencer peg are good pegs and the sleeper pegs, I swear by the fiend SCM pegs could you do a wear test on the etnies Michelin soles and the vans bmx soles to see who is most durable 👍🚲💨
That’s doesn’t need testing vans soles are much weaker than etnies Michelin soles. I’d go through 3/4 pairs of vans during walking and riding and only 1 pair of Etnies. However vans had better grip on every pedal. Depends of what you are looking for. Durability = Etnies. Grip = Vans.
Great idea. There's actually an Etnies Michelin review in the works, but I don't have any experience with the new Vans wafflecup BMX shoe. Maybe we can make that happen...
Pretty interesting Ethan said he designed the Sleeper peg to combine his favorite elements of other pegs he’s tried. Seems like that shows in this test that it’s one of the best all around pegs.
Agreed. I ended up running both the Sleeper and Joystick pegs after this video just because they both seemed pretty middle ground and I don't grind a ton on concrete. - Mike
@@danmcdonald726 Starting out you can't go wrong with a chromoly peg. They are still widely used and cost less in the long run. Plus, you won't have to worry about replacing plastic sleeves as chromoly will last you years. "Plastic" pegs tend to slide better on most surfaces without needing to add as much wax, but they wear out faster. Both a great its just depends on what's more important to you. Hope that helps!
Go with metal pegs. Grinds sound much cooler, all you gotta do to slide longer is go faster, and that will always make a trick look better. Also sparks on concrete at night 👍🏻

@@danscompvideos good to hear that you didn't forget about it and tried to clean it off! Just felt missing in the video because you didnt mention it..

Low key been waiting for this 😂😅
Good job dude. Way to put in the effort 👏👏. We need more sciencey BMX vids.
Agreed I really like this real word test of products
Best peg comparison on the net thanks for all the time you put into this video
Kick ass video 👏🏻
Awesome video, very informative , this is gonna help so many new people getting into grinding
Thanks Herik!

Could you guys do a part 2 including the primo binary v2 pegs 😁🤘
great presentation!
Could you Test the Salt Nylon peg too?
That's definitely a possibility if we do a part 2.
I love the amount of effort you put into the video to share a honest review on the pegs.
Much appreciated

Weight and price are also factors when purchasing pegs

Thermalite is the same compound as the Glock handgun frames.Nylon 6-6 by DuPont
U look like Linus Tech Tips and idk why that gives me confidence on this review, nice
I've heard that before, haha.

Hi which one to choose both light and for small grind
Did you do part 2 with wax?

Sleepers are the best!

@@danscompvideosHow'd you get the sleeper to fit on the rear? I switched rear nuts from 19 to 17mm and they still don't fit.
I wish theyd give out dope stickers like that with orders ❤
How do these compare to a chromo peg?
Chromoly will last longer but do not slide as fast.
@Dans Comp thanks, I'm just getting into freestyle bmx. Ignoring costs is more or less slide better when starting out?

What about the o.g. plastic peg creator...ANIMAL...I run bennys on all my bikes.
Ironic that the Animal team peg is the best current chromoly choice
You’re so pretty😍😍
Your voice sound like luke terry 😁
good
pov; me who uses the old school schromolly peg ;[
