Processing & Transmission losses Solutions : A. Bottom up approach Setting up generation units per certain area so transmission losses can be reduced B. Effective implementation of pm surya muft bijili yojana can solve many problems
sir i am from kerala palakkad in my state the overall power sector is under kseb (kerala state electricity board( in my area power cut are rare power cuts do occur but it will be occuring when there is heavy rains or thunder or else its normal over here. the main think i observed over here is we can contact the kseb at any point of time. and they will be saying wats the issue y the power has goan the main intresting factor is we get messages from kseb that if tomarrow there is a chance of [power cut they will be notifying through a text message in phone. in kerala the power sector is much more advanced cons: the price they charge is much higher.

India presently meets 55% of power generation through fossil fuel, which is gradually changing through renewable energy intervention in power generation. India's power sector in midst of change: 1. Introduction of nuclear energy based generation. Eg-Push for small modular reactors in budget 2024-25. 2. Increased renewable energy capacity for power generation. Eg-Renewable energy capacity of 190GW(Economic Survey 2023-24). 3. Increased per capita productivity in electricity tranmission. Eg- Reduction of AT&C losses to 15% in 2023. 4. Empowerment and autonomy of power exchanges and DISCOMs in electricity transmission. Need for faster change in power sector for climate combat: 1. Meet the Panchamrit target at COP 26 by 2030 and 2070(carbon neutrality). 2. Faster adaptation to climate based loss incurred to vulnerable sections. 3. Ensure a place in global stature and set good precedence. 4. Meet the infrastructural demands and institutional gaps plaguing power generation. Thus, power generation needs to meet the domestic requirements and global commitments, however India cannot immediately shift past the thermal/fossilised power(economic survey 2023-24).

i would like to add the need of lab chemicals for healthcare laboratory uses too, which in way could affect the increase expenditure to meet the human blood tests, tumor checks could affect the middle class and low class too drastically
Power sector problems: 1. High AT&C losses due to theft, infrastructure inefficiencies etc 2. Financial distress of discoms who receive delayed payments from states due to subsidised power, leading to high NPAs in power sector 3. Cross subsidisation by charging less from households/farmers and more from commercial users leading to skewed pricing 4. Lack of reliable 24*7 power supply especially in rural areas where outages last 7-8 hours per day 5. Outdated infrastructure like aged power plants
