Very interesting, i think youve done a good job there. I bought one of these about a year ago but thought id lost it a couple of times but its still with us and is coming on.
Looking good! You can always add more cuttings to the exterior to create more trunks if you want or to replace ugly ones, or even add one or a few in the middle to form an apex, kinda like Nigel's franken-ficus
Very nice...squirrels and scale destroyed mine this summer..I've been looking for a new one, but it's tough to find anything but ginseng ficus here in Connecticut
Ive been kinda guide wiring my clump styling trees. Ill wrap a loop around one trunk then run the wire below the pot and up to another trunk on the opposite side of the tree. Im trying to get away from using wire because of scaring.
Would love to get the hand on willow leaf ficus and think you got some going here, very nice.😊 I do have cuttings from it's larger "cousin " going Ficus binnendijkii (bamboo ficus?) but will not be easy to shape as the leaves get very long.
i personally woulda kept that large root for character but i see why you did it. my only suggestion from my own experience with ficus and most trees is i tend to wire more down than i want it to be just a little because assuming you remove wire at the perfect time before it bites into the bark, the branch will spring back up a little naturally. So yea, that guide wire you used towards then end i would tighten it just a tad if what you currently wired is your desired height/ shape
Love the look of the clump style. Cheers
Thanks!
I do love a cheeky clump style….great little tree! Thank you for the update! … All the best from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you! This one wasn't super eventful but I thought it was a good place to introduce this little guy.
I like ficus,one of my hobbies👍👍
Me too!

I have 3 or 4 of them and they all do that to me too. They look like they're going to die and then... Nope! Little drama queen trees lol.
excellent looking tree☀️🤩☀️
Thank you!
Looks nice: it needs some growing.

Thanks Kennet!

Thanks! And yeah I might do that. I'd like to avoid it if possible, but I have some cuttings on standby in case.

I've only seen them around here twice ever. And both times I scooped them up!

Yeah I'm pretty bad about leaving them on too long too

Interesting! Too bad we don't live closer, we could trade some cuttings.

Yeah these little willow leaf ficus are a particular challenge because of how dainty they are. And I'm pretty clumsy so that doesn't help. Lol
Get rid of that little branch 🫡 let the big one grow.
