    I'll say, I liked Jay. I thought he was a good fit. HOWEVER, want to know how much I've listened to Slipknot since Joey left? Roughly 5 minutes. Since Eloy joined? I've watched every single bootleg youtube video I can find. Many many hours. I've ever gone back and listened to the records a few times just because hearing them live reignited my love for their music. This guy is just on another level. All due respect to Jay and of course the legend and founding father Joey, but Eloy is just simply in a league of his own.

      how can you say jay was a good fit if you have only listen to 5 minutes? either he wasnt a good fit, which is why you didnt listen, or he was a good fit and you didnt listen enough to even realize that.

    • @jonathanpacemusic
      @jonathanpacemusic 3 месяца назад +6

      @@jeffmentanko740 his tempo was sloppy and he was replaced for a reason, let's just put it like that. He looked the part, had the energy, and obviously he was a good fit bc he was in the band for a decade. But he didn't stay on top of his game. I watch videos from 2 years ago and he was slopppyyyyy. Most people don't notice that, and think he sounds fine, but that isn't good enough in this business when people like Eloy can come in and CRUSH it. 5 minutes was a hyperbole. Any more questions?

      Seen the Legend Joey (RIP 🙏) 3X
      Jay 2X in concerts and could tell the difference when Jay got in for sure.
      Been following Eloy on RUclips for years. And without a doubt, Eloy grabbed the torch and beats those drums and cymbals like a mob boss they owe a LOT of money to!
      Joey's looking down at the ex girlfriend that's unfortunately now dating a supermodel dude and all you can do in that situation is congratulate.
      Much better than her dating the sloppy guy making you look bad!
      His ghost notes are flawless keeping he and all the band in perfect time 👌 🤘🤘

      Jay just couldn't keep up and was a huge drag for the band. Great guy and decent drummer. Just was never at that level the band needed and I still wonder why they went with such a young guy with very little experience. He really had to adapt and learn as he went in the begging, to get where he's at now, and it's still just kinda sloppy to me. But I've always admired his determination and being the son of Max.

      Cara, na verdade não considero menosprezo. Considero que o Jay era um tapa buraco, que caiu bem no momento, porque ele sabia reproduzir as músicas do Slipknot... E que a banda e os fãns simplesmente deixaram rolar, porque ele foi o primeiro substituto do Joey. Mano, The Gray chapter é um album legal, mas os dois sucessores não tiveram nenhuma inovação sequer na bateria! E o cara mesmo estando na banda desde 2014 ainda errava as músicas ao vivo... Não dá mano, não é nem sobre menosprezar, é sobre uma melhoria que precisava ter sido feita a muito tempo! Cara, fui nos dois shows (2015 e 2022) com o Jay Weinberg, e cara ao vivo ele é muito ruim!!!!

    I wish we could also hear Joey's live version at the end. Finally, this cannot really be a comparison, its just listening to one mans play style vs another, all these guys are great players, but I just can't help but say I love Eloy's machinegun kicks, so flowless compared to Jay's take...

    Eloy está em outro nível que Jay não pode chegar. Jay é ruim, Eloy é muito superior e toca o que Joey fez com maestria e ainda melhora. O pedal duplo é perfeito, as Ghost Notes, o peso, a técnica, o Groove, q velocidade, ele é superior ao Jay em tudo. As comparações se tornam inevitáveis

  • @vince66612

    Eloy is a drumming prodigy, it’s probably not fair to compare them at all. He’s in a different level all together. I’m just excited they have him onboard and can’t wait to hear him on the next studio album

    i have been saying this - Just like Joey, Eloy got the groove, they both can make a heavy beat funky and dancey, I might even argue Eloy is the funkiest among all three of them. Jay's touch, feel, choice of drums and cymbals honestly make him a perfect rock drummer, I hope for the best for him.

    • @padawansound6423
      @padawansound6423 3 месяца назад

      Yep, way groovier. Joey was a unique drummer, but he still played with a rigidity. Eloy has a touch of Tomas Haake to his style which makes the groove flow much nicer.

    Jay: completely removes or replaces double bass sections because they're too difficult.
    Eloy: adds MORE double bass because it's too boring.
    These two guys are in completely different leagues.

    Diferença gritante e olha que aparentemente o Jay tá no limite dando o Máximo... Fez um bom trabalho no Slipknot o visual dele e presença de palco foram incríveis na banda... Mas não tem como comparar com o trator do Eloy, Brutal demais... Monstro 💪🤘🔥

    I knew before that Jay is really sloppy when it comes to playing double bass. He finally got noticed because Eloy is a milliom times better than him. Glad he got replaced. made the rest of the band rush all the songs because of his changing Tempo. Eloy will make Slipknot better again 🤘

    I would like to say that Jay was a really good drummer for SlipKnoT, talented and also with great creativity, it was a good replacement for Joey (RIP) even though Joey will be forever the best and no one will replace him, I was "happy" that Jay was keeping the same line that Joey started. That being said, I feel kinda sorry for Jay because the beast that is now blasting the drums, is eclipsing his entire carrer in SlipKnoT. Eloy is in a league of his own and in my personal opinion, one of the greatest drummers out there, and certainly, the one with the best technique, speed and heavyness in SlipKnoT. I hope that SlipKnoT keeps this line that they seem to be following, Im sure Eloy will bring some really tasty stuff, lets hope for the best 🤟
