so glad you started a ferret rescue, your ferrets are much more active than mine 😅 so cool that you can pay that love forward! Also super cool because ferrets have weird physiological similarities with humans, and research into ferret treatment could help research into human treatment
I think patents should be solely for commercial distribution. Which gets fuzzy, because let's say a piece of personal property is modified with something patented, or replicates the patented thing for personal use, then the idea goes out to harness every living human being for their wealth again as a policing force for the stake claimer. I would much rather operate a business, and let people thrive off of my works and myself die out when I am no longer needed, than the crippling and destabilized ecosystem of 'dont touch my rock' we have today where we simply cannot learn from anything and it all has to be a futile race to see who can recreate solutions to patented problems.
How come you don't see any games that teach you how to make games? Like you start it up and it's a fake desktop with the programs you need to use, and it slowly teaches you how to make minesweeper or something
Even without a noncompete, it's ingrained into the culture here, and it's just eating everything alive and it sucks horridly. Highly disrecommend anyone with the soulless husk to think it's a good idea.
Im brand new to all of this not fluent in any program language never done digitial art put i have passion and have wanted this forever but im struggling to decide if this is realistic (this is not a knock on anyone or me trying to be a bummer) just wanna hear some thoughts or guidance
I just feel like I'm so behind in every aspect and then I see games like WoW, Ff14, Monster hunter, and even minecraft like damn how am I gonna compete with these just amazing games
@ZacharyBechtel-be4rd keep in mind that you're comparing yourself to games that have been worked on for years- sometimes decades- and have tons of highly experienced devs with millions of dollars backing them. Don't compare yourself to giant studios, and honestly I wouldn't recommend comparing yourself to anybody- just try it out. Doesn't matter if you know everything or nothing, if you're the greatest singer songwriter in the world or if you've never so much as seen a pencil in your life. If you're 13 or if you're 56. Just go for it- we all start somewhere, and we live in a time where we've got more access to information than any generation before us. Tl;Dr with a Heartbound quote, "Don't wait to follow your dreams. Do it, or you never will." If you spend all your time thinking about it and not doing it, then you won't be doing it
