It's weird when you come back to an old video and your memories of it are higher resolution than the actual thing.
But seriously, how is this only 480p?
try setting your monito to your old resolution ;) the first time around you saw it, it was probably on a 720p monitor and now you moved on to 2-4k
this
Haha it get's recommended to me in 2022 and the video quality seems too poor now.
@@T4nkcommander Well 480p was new back in 2009 Fuck I was 17 then
Why did this trio never take off as a thing? This is awesome. I'd go see them as a front liner cover all kinds of songs any day.
Are you fucking kidding me?! I never thought in a million years I would see anything like this! Absolutely astonishing! I play this song on drums and I was blown away by this performance from every single instrument. Whenever I hear a cover of a song I like, I am very critical about mistakes and this was flawless.
I know!!! This is pure talent at the. Best.
Amazing
Mandatory Full-Screen & Crank It Up!
Swartzeneggah, says, I am NOT Shitting YOU. 😛 Darwin should just give it a BREAK? Eh? ruclips.net/video/zKEWdRPRf3I/видео.html
I 'm an old guitar player, and a BIG air-drummer! The Percussion and the Bass-lines just make me wanna go to ELEVEN! YES! THX! (Please, Excuse my reminiscing.) HA!
3/7/2024 check in. My 8 year old son just started playing the viola, and I wanted to show him just how cool the classical instruments can be
14 years and this is still my favorite Toxicity cover, and that's including Algal's bardcore cover. Yall freakin killed it.
I love the interaction between the three ladies as they play. The way they smile to each other, silently riding the same vibe and exchanging looks of bliss. The way they rock out and headbang in sync without even trying. I love the song of course and my goodness, this is such talent right here!!!
I can almost smell the burning hair! A Classic.
And in October 2019, Meytal has a band & is playing in LA before thousands -- and loving her drumming as much as ever -- still smiling through a song --- we love it!!!
Jeez, it's been six yeas and this is still one of the sickest videos ever put on RUclips.
Fuck yeah!
11 years now...
sisters of a down
jaja :')
specb37 Ha😄👍
lol
I laughed so hard than my dick
good job
Oh, my, GOd. She not only has the skills, she's got the smile that kills.
God i love this song and the way these girls pulled this off with violins, man what a sound!!!!!!!!!! I could listen to this all day.
this needs to be re-uploaded in HQ :)
You.must.be.the.profet
I doubt they had HQ in 2009 :D
@@N4ughtylus It would help if HQ actually had a definition, but they definitely had the capability to upload a video with CD quality audio to RUclips in 2009
AI upscaling c:
@@N4ughtylus Well. Them Linkin Park music vids was re-uploaded in 4k. They were old as shit
definitely an inspiration for my daughter who is 12 and been playing violin for 3 years. we just watched this together,
how did a crowd not gather at the fence........if i heard that i would run toward the sound
Yep, I can't believe the lack of interest!
I run towards it quite frequently now that it's on my RUclips page.
I know, right?
yep ditto, whats that sound always gets me lol
It was filmed in an industrial park
That gorgeus ghost note on the snare...this is talent!!!
Most excellent version of an already great song.
i agree this is the BEST version i have seen
Love how the violins make it their own song.
Tears welled up to me to hear and see such a beautiful show, should keep playing together forever!!!
Still my favorite!!.... Everytime I go back and watch this I love it!! Can imagine the neighbors!! Lol
2020 and I still watch this insane of music... Love it... 💞😍
How to get popular on RUclips:
1. Be an attractive female.
2. Be incredibly talented on an instrument typically stereotyped as an instruments for men.
3. Bonus: Emphasize your sex with clothes that bring attention to your body.
1. here on the tube, you will never be able to satisfy the 100%. there will always be someone who will be offended by things you say/have said, the clothes you wear or simply by how you look and the color of your skin.
2. ignore people who judge what they see rather what they hear or feel. ignore people who use their eyes for judgement of people rather than navigation and orientation.
3. i think you are a girl
4. i think you are jelly
5. jelly is bad, mkay?
how to get popular in life:
1. be a man
2. be incredible talented
3. emphasize your sex with clothes that bring attention to your body.
sorry MusicIsLife but you just fail.
They're wearing fairly regular everyday clothes though. It's not like they're in underwear or catsuits or anything, so your comment doesn't even make sense.
I love Meytal she's one of my favorite drummers now I'm just stating a fact that women that play instruments usually played by men gain a lot of popularity on RUclips. There are thousands of guys out there with drum cover channels but a woman has the advantage if she's talented. There are also several very talented girls that play the electric bass on youtube and they get a lot of views.
The drummer is not incredibly talented. She is funcional.
I downloaded the sheet music for this for my daughter who plays viola. She isnt on this level yet. But it is inspiring for her. To play music she likes
I saw this 13 yrs ago, revisited many times like just now and can't stop thinking, how amazing it would be for you 3 amazing women, to do a remake with all the experiences you all have gathered.
DEAR BEAUTIFUL Meytal LOVE U and YR BEAUTIFUL musicians.
Distorted violins HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That shits awesome!
WOW!!!!! Amazing is all I can say really... I play the violin, I learned back in the early '80's' when orchestra or symphony orchestra, where your only options. I grew up in the '80's' man, that just doesn't cut it.. Foolishly, I quit playing the violin the reminder of my high school years (stupidity, social life mattered more). When my friend (who knows Meytal and introduced me to her channel), told me to "check out the Toxicity video by you guys, I didn't hesitate, and man, you girls have NO idea how much you have inspired me to start playing again. I can play 3 instruments (sadly, the drums are not one of them), now I am beginning to learn the drums.... My goal one day, is to jam the HELL out of this song on both 'my fiddle' and the drums (not at the same time of course, lol). Thank you for putting this together and putting it out there. Your 'fellow' musicians truly appreciate the 'awakening' it provided again to the 'musical soul'. Keep it up and I look forward to what you put out there in the future. When I feel comfortable again with my playing, ( just like riding a bike ;) I will be posting on my youtube channel. It would be so completely and utterly awesome to jam with you :) 'Just sayin'
Was one of those instruments a viola, or was it tuned down into the alto range?
Kenneth Ferrari SHE CLEARLY SAID SHE PLAYS THE: SITAR, THE CELLO AND THE ELECTRIC TRIANGLE COME ON BRO.
Brandon 5.56 I wasnt talking about Jennifer, I was talking about the two girls playing. One of the instruments is tuned lower than the other.
Jennifer Grisham Just keep on playing, music is life 8)
Increíble
EVERYTHING about this video is awesome!!!
(System of a Down + Meytal Cohen + cute girls rocking electric violins = 😍💕)
10 years later and I always come back to watch this video. 🖤
There needs to be more of this... compose and complete your band... and of course with a operatic female singer with a rough edge.
Interesting... Uploaded 12 years ago... First time seeing it... I think it's one of your best!! Please, more, just like this!!
They are one of the reasons I got into violin.. 16 years later I am to graduate with my bachelors in violin performance 😄😎🙌🏾
If my memory serves me right, this was the very first vid of yours that I stumbled across. A friend of mine shared it on fb and after I watched it I was like “Yup I wanna see more of this!” and the rest is history. I think it’s still pretty awesome, even compared to all the mind blowing stuff you’ve done since this was made. 🤩
ALL 3 of them are incredibly talented. :)
are you kidding me?
this is badass.
Immer noch das beste Cover dieses Songs, das es gegeben hat und je geben wird!
There are people that make the world better by being in it, you are at the front of that line!
I'd like to know what song she would consider hard. I've seen alot of her work (covers and original ) and she makes looks so easy. Super talent
Hard would probably be Neil Peart.
12 mil views and 12 years . Still killing it !🎼🥁😉👍
Just Lovely! WU-HOO!
i wasn't expecting this to be good... i am pleasently surprised
i wish my parking garage had a meytal trio in it..
Que incrível estou apaixonada por esse vídeo 😍
+Sara Alessandra Realmente muito bom, Também adorei!
realmente é muito bom!!!!❤
Não tem como não amar a Meytal
e eu to apaixonado por vc, cara que linda
I had to take it upon myself to check out your earliest video uploaded to RUclips and it blew me away. This has to be by far the greatest cover that you have recorded. Never knew there was electric violins. This was badass. Thank you!
Always an awesome return to you'all and the power of heavy metal joy that it returns back.
This is mindblowing! Are there anymore covers with the 3 of you?
Look up meytal cohen they’ve got a handful of songs out there
They should have stayed together - unique group of ladies and they sounded awesome.
I decided to chceck out what was your first cover... And it's one of my favourite metal songs (if not the most)! Thank you, good job! You all nailed it! 🤘💚
Probably my fav . Violin and percussion ❤❤❤❤❤
BRAVO !!!!!!!
Wow....wonderful!
This was the first video I ever saw Meytal :D She inspires me everyday to follow my dreams.
+Nariah Ardour i puked A BIT

*hands you a mop and bucket Here go clean up then :) wouldn't want anyone else to catch what you got :S
+Nariah Ardour epic reply
Someone Can't help but be creative in all areas of life :P
that was even better than watching apocalyptica play
That is one of the single most awesome things I've ever heard...
brilliant violin skill. as someone who played in carnegie hall at 10 years old...i cant even imagine being able to play this song like that.
Where did my mind go?? Oh that's right, it's all over the walls of this room because I just had my mind blown!
D
+James Ghosten SUPERWOMAAAAAAAAAAN :p
i usually blow my mind with a glock, but this did the trick
This is the greatest thing to ever happen...
Still love watching this masterpiece all 3 connected ❤❤❤ damn it's been a minute tho much love to all these ladies
Woow! Oh my God!✊🏼🤘 this is Metal!🤘 Excellent Performance! 👌🏼 Congratulations!🤝🤗🙂👍
Until I watched the TEDx talk, I didn't know this was the first video. Very nice to see. :) I first saw your videos when I was looking at 46 and 2 covers. Which, by the way, is another good video. Nicely done. :)
Meytal.. please do more vids with those two talented gals and make a record.. lol.. I love this video
So refreshing! Thank you all!
Oh my Gosh JLynn. I had No Idea you had been playing this long.
You had me at electric Violin.
I am in Awe over your talent. Thank you for sharing.
Posso ver este vídeo um milhão de vezes e em todas fico arrepiado com tanto talento. Das três!!! FENOMENAL!
Sim mano, tocam muito!!!
that was absolutely awesome
Hello Meytal. I was listening to your TedX and this just popped up on my "Recommended" list. Your mom should be proud of you. You're meant for great things and have touched a lot of people. Keep doing what you're doing. 🤗
Why am I just seeing this now?!? Absolutely fantastic.
You wanna know something funny? I'm Israeli and I went to highschool with the drummer for SOAD, John Dolmayan, and I played drums along side John in the marching band (just ask him, he'll confirm it), and now I'm watching a fellow Israeli playing his drum part. Funny, right?
+Tal Moore cool!
+Tal Moore he lived in libanon , armenia and america
Jadi Peperzak Israel and Lebanon are literally next to each other. He probably lived in Lebanon but went to school in Israel.
Requiem for a Dawn
Cohen / Lynn / Wu ...You are fuckin' amazing! ;-) Wish it had an HD version of it though. Y'all got the beauty, the style, the talent, the passion.. You sincerely all deserve a promising future ;D
These chicks rock!!!!!!!
this has to be the best cover I have heard in a long time.
Meytal Cohen is awesome as always but I am afraid I have fallen in love with the dark haired violinist.
we are kindred spirits on this - Christine Wu - all three ladies are extremely talented and obviously beautiful but I too fell for the Wu Voodoo
Exactly
ytLuke611 the drummer is HOT and awesome on the Skins!🤠👍
Me, too. 😍
Get in line buddy... 😁
All I can say to this is FUCKING SWEEET
I agree
Yep
These chicks need more recognition. Holy cow dude.
Probably the most intriguing rendition of this song ive ever seen
well... I'm officially in love :)
that was just violin and drums?! AWesome
+La Ro it sounds like there might be some kind of bass/guitar track in the background?? the heavy guitar parts sound VERY brutal for a violin but still, either way, it's awesome!!!
Only electric violins and drums.
+Kate Marlin Callaghan-Evans first I've ever seen electric violins. fucking harmonic squeals and all! dope as fuck
me too man, soooo fucking cool
The swells at 0:48 give the verse so much emotion❤
As a metal guy I like it when people try new things and cross over with classical instruments. When I saw the icon for this video I was thinking "how is this going to work?" I was presently surprised :)
Hey Seuss Nope but I just looked them up on wikipedia. Their music seems to be a little bit of everything by the sounds of it.
It's 2001 and I'm in 6th grade. I've just gotten to homeroom and its still early yet so my head is down on the desk waiting for class to start. Those desks always seemed to suck the warmth out of you but maybe it was just school. Though it did always feel like you were laying your head on the perpetual cool side of the pillow. Right as I am about to catch up on some sleep, a teacher rushes in and frantically whispers something to our teacher before darting out of the room again. Her lips are tight as she grabs the remote and turns on the classroom TV. When you're that young you can still hear the mosquito whine those CRT's used to make turning on. On the screen stands a proud building sick with ash and flame. The screen cuts as the teacher shuts off the TV. Nobody will tell us what is going on. Nobody has a smart phone to figure it out. People are pulled from class as parents pick them up. We're too young to be trusted with what is going on outside these red brick walls and steel doors. I never got over that.
A week prior, Toxicity was released and I've forgotten how I first heard them but I do remember downloading it on Limewire. Feeling that what I was doing was wrong, not because I was pirating music, but because it felt like it ran so counter to the stifling patriotic air that permeated every radio and TV station. Skip ahead to 2009, It's been four years since SOAD put out an album and two since Serj put out Elect the Dead album. I'm itching for that feeling the first time I listened to Toxicity all those years ago. I'm searching through covers on youtube looking something fresh to capture that fleeting intangible feeling that comes with the first time a song hits you in a newly discovered place. I am inundated with fresh faced teens learning guitar and garbage remixes. Finally, something interesting that I didn't even realize was an instrument. Electric violins. There it is. That oppressive and somber opening split apart by an angry crescendo of violin and drum demanding answers before fading back to make way for a softer melody that merely asks the question, "How do you own disorder?"
It's 2020 and my life has changed drastically since I discovered Toxicity and yet I still come back to this cover on occasion. I am resigned to the fact this will never be on Spotify and that I'll never see a FLAC file or higher quality version. I could rip it and download it but then something is lost in the experience. Instead, every once in a long while when that itch resurfaces, like now, I'll navigate to youtube just like when I was 19 all over again and type in "Toxicity electric violin" and up this video pops in all its 2009 youtube quality glory. One day my ritual may stop working but until then, see you all the next time around.
damn bro, thats deep
I never knew electric violins were a thing....
Dear Meytal and friends. You were/are total badass musicians. This cover is nanoseconds close to the original Toxicity video. Well done!
Watching her evolve over time, in older videos you can really appreciate her talent and beauty over time. She does really own the drums in a way nooone else does.
meytalll, PLEASE find a way to get these incredible ladies hooked up with 2cellos. Oh my God - can you just imagine the music that would come out of that union?!?!?! Thank you - thank you! Have shared their music with everyone I know and some I don't.
uau eu amei parabéns ficou perfeito❤sou do brasil✌
I think that I have probably watched this 1000 times or more since 2009 ........ still one of the most amazing magical performances that I have ever seen ....... and Meytal has the most beautiful smile while she plays ....... videos like this one are what made RUclips so awesome !!! TY Ladies !!!
Beautiful, beautiful ladies
Jennifer Lynn
There violins sounds like a electric guitar 🎸
electric violins, thats why.
Guitars are based off of violins i think.
@@Mobus_ Other way around. The guitar's ancestors were the egyptian lute, which dated to around 2000 B.C. The common guitar was developed in spain around the 8th century when the moors brought the lute to europe and consequently spain. It was here where the violin was developed.
I love how the violins aren't pluged in
AGT did not think that this was good enough for there show! Unbelievable this is crazy you girls rock...
NAILED IT!! Rock on
I saw someone parking their car and thought, " What the hell are thinking?".

Click click boom
Been years and still the best cover 🤘
Oh my gosh! This gave me friggin chills!
Fantastic! You guys kicking rear end! Two thumbs up! And whoever gave you thumbs down can kiss your asses!
+Zoran Cosic Give the thumb down, the kiss is for me
+rognetudju No! No! We got to share wealth!
1,580 dislikes this = 1,580 people who loves Justin Bieber
Girls you ROOOCK for real!
Love you girls doing your take on this song! Violins rock in your hands! We want more!!!
erlybird.com/violution
OMG.... just awesome
Around 40 seconds in during a quiet spot you can hear a bass line being played. Is that the violin through an octave pedal I wonder?
Helium Road It's pretty clear they are playing over another track. You can hear electric guitars and additional drum lines as well.
ALevelBetty And the violins aren't plugged in. At least go the effort of making it look semi-real!
Dan Hawk
To be honest I was looking more at the violinists than the violins...
Helium Road haha xD
+Helium Road dont blame you
wow
yes
that is probably the coolest practice space I have ever seen.
