Amen to that. I’m so over every reviewer saying this is the newest phone, you must buy it. Not everyone can afford $3000 or ability to upgrade every year. Mate just bought iPhone 11 on special and couldn’t be happier.

I just got my iPhone 12 last week and it’s awesome! Huge improvement to my Samsung Galaxy S8+ which I used before. Especially the cameras are much better and I love the ultra wide camera
One thing that would have been great to see in comparison would be to load a webpage of text, to show much text is shown on each screen. My understanding is that while XR and 12 have the same size display, XR has higher logical size, so actually fits more on text content on the scren.
Didn't expect the photos from the iPhone SE to be THAT good in comparison with the other iPhones, pretty much the same quality from the main camera but not as versatile, really impressed, the audio is also pretty similar. Excellent comparison! I already have a powerful phone for serious camera-related situations (LG V60) so, I'll take the iPhone SE for more casual/everyday stuff as it's really tiny and light in comparison to my other phone,
@@Lol-rv5bvTL;DR - It's good if you're not gaming (too small screen anyway). I bought the SE2020 128GB and the battery life was better than I was lead on to believe. If you're going to game, shoot a lot of/edit video then you'll run down the battery quickly. However, for standard usage with social media, messaging, a bit of RUclips, lots of Spotify over bluetooth, 30 mins of navigation I'd get a full day with around 5.5-6h of SOT. The phone is well worth the money.

Aaron, Thanks for an excellent review! It was usefull to have all the phones side by side and place the alpha-numeric information above each phone. This is particularly usefull for people who place greater value on a particular feature (cost, battery life, camera specs, etc.). You may wish to build on this for all the features because it’s so much more efficient than sorting these differences on Apples website. The side by side photo depictions were excellent because in the end the actual product (ie the image processing) is what matters more than the raw specs. I like the way you efficiently covered each spec across the entire line rather than compare each overall phone in detail then move to the next. It was satisfying that you stuck impartially to the specs in an an unbiased manner and refrained from extraneous departures from the purpose of the evaluation. One enhancement I would consider is that for the high processing heat generation test, it would be useful to run the test simultaneously as you did but then use a FLIR (thermal imaging) camera to display the heat signature rather than qualitatively describe the feel. I listen to many reviews on Apple HW, and find myself thinking: “Could you just get to the point?” This is not an issue with you Arron, for you move efficiently through myriad of specifications and conclude with a concise summation, an excellent paradigm. Thanks! 🙏🤗
SE was my choice. Cheaper, great camera, fast and little newer. Traded my XR with the poor the antenna issues. Great while wearing a mask. Love this little phone.
@@leonbryan9105. I’m bias and already switched from XR to SE after only a year. SE2 after 7 months without any problems. Extremely heavy user for business for calls and emails. XR has the poor connections. Lots of dropped/broken calls (1 of 4) or wifi signal problems. Apple couldn’t find the problem after repeated tests. Problem is very common with Intel Antennae’s located in half their XR phones. Qualcomm antennae’s are excellent and exclusively used in the 11s, 12s and SE. SE is nearly perfect for my needs. Smaller screen, battery life is approx. 8 hours fir normal (last only 4 hours under heavy use) and Touch ID. Screen is big enough for calls, texts some light surfing; use the larger IPad for media. Battery life extended by 3X simply by purchasing a Case with built-in charger - $100 or less. Touch works well wearing a mask. Both Iphones are great, but the XR can be unreliable if shipped with an Intel Antennae. I also like using the button, swiping upwards is frustrating and Face ID is useless with a Mask. Cameras are comparable: same rear, better XR front and neither includes night mode. Battery life, XR is about 50% longer. SE is 2 years newer, support is definitely longer. Power is 20% faster and $100 cheaper on the SE. Hope this helps.

@@S.A_5w6 I mean I bought the XR after having the iPhone 6 for 3 years and a half on August 2020. But I bought it used and the battery health was at 87% but the battery was great even at 87% health. Then after almost 4 months , I traded in for the iPhone 11. I wanted to replace the battery but might as well get a brand new phone, brand new battery at 100% health and one more year of IOS updates so I made the right choice. I’m 2 years from now I’ll just get a new battery for $69. No need for new phone or because it will be full screen And blah blah. Save your phone and invest it instead of buying dumb new stuff that it’s pretty much the same shit. This dude had an XR then just switch to the 12 and said overall that it’s the same shit with an oled screen whatever. I don’t get people like that. It’s not something like a play station , where they come up with a new one every 6-7 years. Se smartphone be coming out every year and people still making the company rich. It’s usually always the poor who had the most braggy stuff

@@noahskirtz9457 Just charge it at 30% battery level up to minimum 80%, if you follow this method you won’t need to change the battery even after 3 years. And also avoid charging while device is heated up.
If money didn't matter the 12 Mini is the one I desire the most. But I'm on a real budget...bought a SE refurbished for just $300 and am only paying $10 a month for service (red pocket mobile). 2 months in, and honestly...I'm in freaking love with my SE!

11 pro model owner here. Feel like we’ve been left out. Didn’t see the point in upgrading as theirs barely any difference between the 11 & pro. Besides the steel edge over the curves.
I originally had the xr, then I bought the iPhone 12, I just didn't take to the 12 it felt to light and I didn't like the square edges either, I bought the iPhone 11 end of November and I am loving the 11, battery life is really strong, it's very fast and responsive honestly I have no complaints whatsoever it's a great phone, don't be put off by people saying the screen is bad, as it's not bad at all its perfectly fine. My eyes were sore when I had the iPhone 12. I got a red 128gb for £530 on eBay it was only 2 days old! So I got my a bargain. I will be keeping the iPhone 11 until at least the 14 or maybe the 15 comes out. Trust me the iPhone 11 is a great phone for the price.
Sold the SE 2020 and bought the XR a week ago. Still has doubts but looks like I made the right decision. XR looks and feels like the newer ones due to the Face ID and the body-to-screen ratio. Great one again man keep the good work 🙏🏻
Coming from the 5 year old iphone 7, I got the very cheap SE 128 gb last week on roughly half its price because of boxing day :D Performance is very good and never lags, even in low power mode I've always used low power mode even playing heavy games which saves quite a ton of battery, lasting me over 4 hours on heavy games (genshin impact) Camera isn't the best but its very acceptable for its price I suggest this phone if you want a budget phone where you still like the iPhone 6 design, a phone that can allow 6 years of software support, decent camera and you don't care about long battery

The SE for half the price of the mini and fits easy in my pocket was the best choice I like the size and it does what it should do. I don’t need for the camera because my Sony RX100VI will blow them out of the water and the SE makes nice photos plus if you get a night shoot app you can also get nice photos instead of paying twice the price for a mini. SE was for me the best basic but affordable iPhone in years.
When I went to have my iPhone 8 Plus’s battery replaced in 6/2020 they damaged the phone so they replaced the whole phone with a new exactly the same phone (space grey) and storage (256). So it runs very smoothly and it only cost me $49.00!
Great review. 2 SEs on the way; price is great, and for our long walks and running with music, audio books, and talks is so comfortable. In this respect, the home button is superior to the Mini facial recognition. Yes, the 12 Pro Max is the absolute bomb, and the rest phenomenal, but this one should fit the bill for 6 years or until the eyes go.

Iphone se is the one for me I love simplicity and of course Touch ID, comfortable to hold, single camera in the back i just love it I don't need much more than that

I miss the days where Apple released 1 phone a year. If only they released the same phone but just different sizes. I have the XR and I’m still content with it. I’m glad to see it still holds up today! A better camera and battery life isn’t enough for me to upgrade. I pay $25 a month for my phone… it’s not worth it!

@@hq3359 I've been an android user so this was quite a change. I find this phone really good when it come to battery and camera the screen is amazing too. I sometimes find it having trouble with LTE connection something my Oneplus 7t never had but other than that it's been a solid device so far

@@leonbryan9105. I’m bias and already switched from XR to SE after only a year. SE2 after 7 months without any problems. Extremely heavy user for business for calls and emails.
XR has the poor connections. Lots of dropped/broken calls (1 of 4) or wifi signal problems. Apple couldn’t find the problem after repeated tests. Problem is very common with Intel Antennae’s located in half their XR phones. Qualcomm antennae’s are excellent and exclusively used in the 11s, 12s and SE.
SE is nearly perfect for my needs. Smaller screen, battery life is approx. 8 hours fir normal (last only 4 hours under heavy use) and Touch ID. Screen is big enough for calls, texts some light surfing; use the larger IPad for media. Battery life extended by 3X simply by purchasing a Case with built-in charger - $100 or less. Touch works well wearing a mask.
Both Iphones are great, but the XR can be unreliable if shipped with an Intel Antennae. I also like using the button, swiping upwards is frustrating and Face ID is useless with a Mask. Cameras are comparable: same rear, better XR front and neither includes night mode. Battery life, XR is about 50% longer. SE is 2 years newer, support is definitely longer. Power is 20% faster and $100 cheaper on the SE.

@@S.A_5w6 I mean I bought the XR after having the iPhone 6 for 3 years and a half on August 2020. But I bought it used and the battery health was at 87% but the battery was great even at 87% health. Then after almost 4 months , I traded in for the iPhone 11. I wanted to replace the battery but might as well get a brand new phone, brand new battery at 100% health and one more year of IOS updates so I made the right choice. I’m 2 years from now I’ll just get a new battery for $69. No need for new phone or because it will be full screen
And blah blah. Save your phone and invest it instead of buying dumb new stuff that it’s pretty much the same shit. This dude had an XR then just switch to the 12 and said overall that it’s the same shit with an oled screen whatever. I don’t get people like that. It’s not something like a play station , where they come up with a new one every 6-7 years. Se smartphone be coming out every year and people still making the company rich. It’s usually always the poor who had the most braggy stuff

That phone last me 3 years and a half, even though the last 6 months my phone was turning randomly but still I made my phone last long as shit. @@noahskirtz9457 Just charge it at 30% battery level up to minimum 80%, if you follow this method you won’t need to change the battery even after 3 years. And also avoid charging while device is heated up.

11 pro model owner here. Feel like we’ve been left out. Didn’t see the point in upgrading as theirs barely any difference between the 11 & pro. Besides the steel edge over the curves.

I originally had the xr, then I bought the iPhone 12, I just didn't take to the 12 it felt to light and I didn't like the square edges either, I bought the iPhone 11 end of November and I am loving the 11, battery life is really strong, it's very fast and responsive honestly I have no complaints whatsoever it's a great phone, don't be put off by people saying the screen is bad, as it's not bad at all its perfectly fine. My eyes were sore when I had the iPhone 12.
I got a red 128gb for £530 on eBay it was only 2 days old! So I got my a bargain.
I will be keeping the iPhone 11 until at least the 14 or maybe the 15 comes out.
Trust me the iPhone 11 is a great phone for the price.

I just updated to the 12 Pro Max yesterday. I'm having battery issues, but it may be the charger I used.
Coming from the 5 year old iphone 7, I got the very cheap SE 128 gb last week on roughly half its price because of boxing day :D
Performance is very good and never lags, even in low power mode
I've always used low power mode even playing heavy games which saves quite a ton of battery, lasting me over 4 hours on heavy games (genshin impact)
Camera isn't the best but its very acceptable for its price
I suggest this phone if you want a budget phone where you still like the iPhone 6 design, a phone that can allow 6 years of software support, decent camera and you don't care about long battery

The SE for half the price of the mini and fits easy in my pocket was the best choice I like the size and it does what it should do. I don’t need for the camera because my Sony RX100VI will blow them out of the water and the SE makes nice photos plus if you get a night shoot app you can also get nice photos instead of paying twice the price for a mini. SE was for me the best basic but affordable iPhone in years.
iPhone 8 Plus with a new battery is great! Never experienced any slow downs with mine even on iOS 14.3

When I went to have my iPhone 8 Plus’s battery replaced in 6/2020 they damaged the phone so they replaced the whole phone with a new exactly the same phone (space grey) and storage (256). So it runs very smoothly and it only cost me $49.00!

Just upgraded from an 8 plus to a 12 pro definitely feels like a substantial upgrade.
Great review. 2 SEs on the way; price is great, and for our long walks and running with music, audio books, and talks is so comfortable. In this respect, the home button is superior to the Mini facial recognition. Yes, the 12 Pro Max is the absolute bomb, and the rest phenomenal, but this one should fit the bill for 6 years or until the eyes go.

I miss the days where Apple released 1 phone a year. If only they released the same phone but just different sizes. I have the XR and I’m still content with it. I’m glad to see it still holds up today! A better camera and battery life isn’t enough for me to upgrade. I pay $25 a month for my phone… it’s not worth it!

@@hq3359 I've been an android user so this was quite a change. I find this phone really good when it come to battery and camera the screen is amazing too. I sometimes find it having trouble with LTE connection something my Oneplus 7t never had but other than that it's been a solid device so far
