I gave the SE a chance but I exchanged for the XR in the end. The SE felt like a step backwards in terms of battery life and screen size (coming from a 7 Plus). Much happier with XR now.

@Mait Oliver Hellat Nahhhh.... it lasts long enough the way it’s set up... never let it discharge past 50% and it’ll pretty much last 4 plus years.. low power mode is used when you can’t plug in right away and that’s what it was originally intended for...
in 2021 I bought iphone Xr and I am impressed of how fluid is and how good the camera is for a single lens one. Apple is so good at optimizing their devices.

I’d go for the SE. If I wanted a bigger and full screen, I’d wait for the 12. But I must admit XR’s battery is great and I hope the 12 will be like that or even surpass it.
Have you tried pulling down your mask for like 2 seconds? Try using Fingerprint Scanner with gloves on, it’s virtually impossible to even unlock your phone.
I prefer an xr. The a12 and a13 chip are almost identical. Xr is fast as hell. The battery on the xr is way bigger than the se. you’ll prolly get like 3 or 4 more hours on the xr. the camera is still amazing on the xr even tho the se is better it doesn’t really make a big difference to me. So I suggest for anyone who’s trying to decide, get an xr.

Ended up with an XR because I got deal. Coming from a 6s the SE was really intriguing and less learning curve. The bigger screen and longer battery of the XR will probably come in handy though. Don’t think you can go wrong either way.

I actually just traded in my iPhone XR for a iPhone SE. The size along with the home button made me go back. With the need wearing a mask the Touch ID will be a lot less annoying. Since my work requires a complex pin I am getting real tired having to key it in all the time.
I'm getting the XR in November. It has a modern look, good camera, face id, it's fast, and isn't too small 👍👍 EDIT: I ended up getting the SE 2 bc I have the smallest hands in the world 🙌🏻
The positive on the SE over the XR is that the SE has Apple’s A13 Bionic chip compared to the XR that has the A12 chip which means that the SE will get supported a bit longer than the XR because the A12 chip was made in 2018 while the A13 chip was made in 2019 so the SE wins this one in my opinion that is
What's the point of having a generation-ahead chip, if you mix it with only 3gig of ram and a crappy battery?. More like a scam to me. That's only for light gaming. Yeah I'll get a nice chip but my battery will die in less than 2 hours of gaming.
I’d rather have the XR because of the screen and battery life. Ever since I got the 11 I’ve been addicted to the full screen display that covers the whole phone, it looks amazing.
XR here. Love the overall size and screen size, plus battery life. I get a consistent 11-12 hours of screen time with my battery health at only 94%. It’s just over a year old this month. Only disappointment on the XR was to hear from on this video that the microphone quality seemed to be fair, at best. The SE looks to be a fine offering for the price, but I also prefer the XR for the larger size as I have huge hands, plus the larger screen for my aging eyes. Thanks for another fine review, Aaron.
I’ll keep using my XR. I got the SE 6 days ago and will be taking it back to Apple with the 14 day refund policy. I would prefer a smaller phone but the XR was initially cheaper than the small X/XS. The SE small battery issue - goes flat fast as I use the hotspot at work all day, which is challenging to keep charging it. The XR battery lasts all day easily. Another frustration I have with the SE is the world/globe button for keyboards English/Emoji/Bitmoji you have to toggle between them, by pressing & holding, which slows down my texting which I do all the time for work & personal. The XR has more space on the screen for the extra key to be displayed.

I think battery life and screen size are my most important considerations in my usage case. With all else being pretty much equal, including the price. I would choose the XR. iPhone 11 user.

I have both and I like both tbh. The SE feels faster, and I like its compact form. Sometimes I even forget it’s on my pocket. However, the XR has a much better battery, and it feels more comfortable while typing. I think I’m getting my wife the SE, an upgrade from her Galaxy S6. It will fit her purse comfortably. I’m not a fan of taking photos so I can’t comment on the camera quality.
Been using one since Feb. 2019. Still love it! Unless Apple comes up with something extraordinary this year, will hold on to this one until it stops getting updates.

I had the XR back when it came out a few years ago, it was great but it was just too big and hard to use one handed which is a huge no from me. I then upgraded to the 12 Mini and it was much nicer but the battery life sucked and the OLED display just sucked it dry and the boxy corners made it slippery to hold without a case. I then sold that as the battery health was declining below 87% after just one year. Now I've just purchased the SE 2020 so I can finally go back to the ol reliable 6S design, a phone which never failed me back in the day
You care for the battery life but then you went back to the SE what 😂😂😂, also just get a new iPhone 15/Galaxy S23 they are much smaller than the XR because of the thin bezels and the battery life is phenomenal
@@Shockload The SE 2 had WAYY better battery life than the 12 Mini and I said it was because because the battery health was degrading, which typically happens after 500 or so charge cycles, Also I absolutely hate thin bezels. There is nothing I despise more than thin bezels and all the issues that come with it. It's just not practical at all you end up with so many accidental inputs on the screen just by holding it and it's annoying to use one handed... I only know this because I have an iPhone 14 right now and yet again I want to trade it for an SE3

My black XR came today and I like it already. It's my first iPhone too. I upgraded from a Samsung. I was about to order the SE 2 at first but I put the XR over the SE because of the newer design, bigger screen, more battery life, the XR is the same size as my old phone which is great it's not too big it's perfect. Typing is easy as there's a nice amount of space between the keys. I feel like the SE would feel too small for most people. Even though the XR has no home button I already learned how to leave and close apps in just 10 minutes. To those deciding between the SE 2 and XR i recommend the XR for an extra $100 👍
Well iPhones never had worse battery life compared to its predecessor (compared to the same size) so it definitely will have at least the same battery life as the 11 which already is slightly better than the XR. The 5.4" of course most likely will be slightly worse.

A lot of carriers are having deals on them ATT is having a deal with the XS where you can get it for 10 dollars a month and the XS Max I believe for 15. Sprint is doing a buy one, lease one deal as well with the XS. Verizon lowered their price on the XS as well.
I dont understand why people say battery on SE is trash... i have a SE 2020 and i use is whole day and From :08:00 in the morning to 18:00 in the evening is stil have 40-50% battery. Its a beast ! Im happy with it.
SE because I prefer Touch ID over Face ID (and the change in location the control centre is accessed in the slightly different UI). I was very much hoping the 12 range would have the finger print sensor in/on the power button as per the IPad Air 4 that came out this year. Plus Face ID as well. So yes the SE for me because of the Touch ID. Give me Touch ID and Face ID in the same phone plus the ability to add the control center to a widget or change the swipe location and I’ll gladly buy it. Until then I vote with my wallet and keep my iPhone 8. And put the headphone jack back And stop calling things Pro when they really aren’t.

I actually love the se my boyfriend got it to pair with the Apple Watch I bought him. The size feels just right like the 6s. Photos are good it has some effects that the 11 doesn’t, I have the 11. I came from a 7plus sometimes I do miss the finger print. Over all it’s a great budget phone. I see people who have the 11pro and their clothes looks washed out. Save that money buy what you can afford!
Last week, I paid $350 new for a 128GB Product Red iPhone XR, so the choice was clear for me. Other than being huge (prefer small phones, came from OG iPhone SE), I love it!
i like SE better, mostly because the processor is better, its smaller, and has a home button edit: plus, touch id is faster and easier than the face id imo

Biggest advantage of the XR is that you can find it used for cheaper and you’ll be able to sell it once the 12 comes out for a much nicer price than the SE

The XR has the best optimum size , great display and battery endurance is excellent. I upgraded from SE to XR upon launching , never had problems and it does what it does best unlike gimmick features in android where we dont use those features on our daily lifes.

So i chose XR and its the best choice over SE. The bigger screen feels more modern and the face id works so quickly without even trying. I remember those horrible screen finger print sensor on samsung screens.. just not practical. Speakers are loud and clear and video recording is the smoothest. The only complaint i have is the screen resolution which I got used to and doesnt make much of a difference. Very practical decision

I think battery life and screen size are my most important considerations in my usage case. With all else being pretty much equal, including the price. I would choose the XR. iPhone 11 user.

I have both and I like both tbh. The SE feels faster, and I like its compact form. Sometimes I even forget it’s on my pocket. However, the XR has a much better battery, and it feels more comfortable while typing. I think I’m getting my wife the SE, an upgrade from her Galaxy S6. It will fit her purse comfortably. I’m not a fan of taking photos so I can’t comment on the camera quality.

I had the XR back when it came out a few years ago, it was great but it was just too big and hard to use one handed which is a huge no from me. I then upgraded to the 12 Mini and it was much nicer but the battery life sucked and the OLED display just sucked it dry and the boxy corners made it slippery to hold without a case. I then sold that as the battery health was declining below 87% after just one year. Now I've just purchased the SE 2020 so I can finally go back to the ol reliable 6S design, a phone which never failed me back in the day

@@Shockload The SE 2 had WAYY better battery life than the 12 Mini and I said it was because because the battery health was degrading, which typically happens after 500 or so charge cycles, Also I absolutely hate thin bezels. There is nothing I despise more than thin bezels and all the issues that come with it. It's just not practical at all you end up with so many accidental inputs on the screen just by holding it and it's annoying to use one handed... I only know this because I have an iPhone 14 right now and yet again I want to trade it for an SE3

My black XR came today and I like it already. It's my first iPhone too. I upgraded from a Samsung. I was about to order the SE 2 at first but I put the XR over the SE because of the newer design, bigger screen, more battery life, the XR is the same size as my old phone which is great it's not too big it's perfect. Typing is easy as there's a nice amount of space between the keys. I feel like the SE would feel too small for most people. Even though the XR has no home button I already learned how to leave and close apps in just 10 minutes. To those deciding between the SE 2 and XR i recommend the XR for an extra $100 👍

Battery life on the XR is amazing and I'm a power user! Hopefully the 6.1" iPhone 12 has similar or better battery life!
Well iPhones never had worse battery life compared to its predecessor (compared to the same size) so it definitely will have at least the same battery life as the 11 which already is slightly better than the XR. The 5.4" of course most likely will be slightly worse.

Hello Aaron, I have been watching your channel for a while and I wanted to make a video suggestion, I was wondering if you could do a video on iPhone XS should you still buy in 2020. A lot of carriers are having deals on them ATT is having a deal with the XS where you can get it for 10 dollars a month and the XS Max I believe for 15. Sprint is doing a buy one, lease one deal as well with the XS. Verizon lowered their price on the XS as well.
I dont understand why people say battery on SE is trash... i have a SE 2020 and i use is whole day and From :08:00 in the morning to 18:00 in the evening is stil have 40-50% battery. Its a beast ! Im happy with it.
SE because I prefer Touch ID over Face ID (and the change in location the control centre is accessed in the slightly different UI). I was very much hoping the 12 range would have the finger print sensor in/on the power button as per the IPad Air 4 that came out this year. Plus Face ID as well.
So yes the SE for me because of the Touch ID.
Give me Touch ID and Face ID in the same phone plus the ability to add the control center to a widget or change the swipe location and I’ll gladly buy it.
Until then I vote with my wallet and keep my iPhone 8.

I actually love the se my boyfriend got it to pair with the Apple Watch I bought him. The size feels just right like the 6s. Photos are good it has some effects that the 11 doesn’t, I have the 11. I came from a 7plus sometimes I do miss the finger print. Over all it’s a great budget phone. I see people who have the 11pro and their clothes looks washed out. Save that money buy what you can afford!

The XR has the best optimum size , great display and battery endurance is excellent. I upgraded from SE to XR upon launching , never had problems and it does what it does best unlike gimmick features in android where we dont use those features on our daily lifes.
I get 8-9 hours of screen on time on my iPhone XR.

You can change the frame rate and resolution inside of the camera app on the XR. You just need to enable it in settings.

Its all about preference. Face I'd is incredibly fast. Touch id can sometimes be inaccurate.

So i chose XR and its the best choice over SE. The bigger screen feels more modern and the face id works so quickly without even trying. I remember those horrible screen finger print sensor on samsung screens.. just not practical. Speakers are loud and clear and video recording is the smoothest. The only complaint i have is the screen resolution which I got used to and doesnt make much of a difference. Very practical decision
