Good morning. We bought the kaito voyager ka500 . With the power adapter the extra battery the travel case how tall is like $90 to it works okay even with the power antenna hooked up to it I do like that it's got the hang of a solar and the extra fact that you can put three double A batterys . But I am not impressed with the capability of charging a phone off it. Or any other electronic device and the fact that it says charge for 3 to 4 hours on the house plug. It does not let you know when the rechargeable battery is charged or fully. And I live here in New Jersey and we've had storms this last week and I was not impressed with the NOAA weather service feature so I gave it to but this is only😢😢😢

How come you didnt test the radios?
Because I have other emergency lighting and power sources I am considering the Midland ER40 along with the 500.

I enjoyed your reviews. Though some might think I have too many radios, I enjoy them all. My emergency radio is a Sangean MMR 88 . I like the stability of it and take it on my fishing boat most of the time. That MMR 99 sure looks nice! I like all three of these, but am just not a fan of analog models. Liked and subbed.
If we have an EMP which radio will not be effected? I’m also looking for “walkie-talkie” but not the kid stuff. My brother lives 11-12 miles from me and I want to be able to get him if I need him. Please help me. I’m disabled and not rich but still need a way.
You would need to store one in a mylar bag as all exposed electronics would get fried
