This video reminded me about the beautiful city with the beautiful ladies. I joined UNMIBH in Jul 2001 to Oct 2002 and I lived on Ilidja Stupska nearby Sarajevo Airport. All areas on this video I have visited during my mission in Sarajevo.... Super dobro i hvala lepo.....
I was one year old in 2000, glad to see my hometown the way I don't remember it. The look itself has improved, but our government is running every pretty aspect of living in our Bosnia and Herzegovina. If I could I would remove them and put my Sarajevo in a bubble and anyone who tries to enter it would have a special card. The bad ones couldn't even come near us, ever! No terrorists nor war or anything that tries to harm us. But I guess I can only dream about that.. Thanks for the video!!
First sight of Sarajevo back in 1996 was landing at Sarajeveo International Airport, I was shocked to see the level of destruction around the airport, thankfully the Dayton Peace agreement had been signed and I was apart of IFOR based at the Ildiza complex. During my time in sarajevo I found the Bosnians quite pleasent people both Bosnian serbs and muslims. Overall I did 6 tours from 1996 to 2001, based in Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Split, MG, Sipovo, and Kupres, the overall impression I got was all the people in Bosnia deserved a better future and that whist the peacekeeping mission under UN was a joke and unfit for the purpose of keeping the peace, once it changed to NATO and under IFOR then SFOR we was far more effective to establish peace in the area. It was a honor to do what small part we did in helping the people of Bosnia and we in the west should of stopped this a lot sooner, thankfully the lessons we learned in Bosnia made acting in Kosovo much quicker. I will never forget what I saw in Sarajevo and the poor people for the rest of my life, now pleased to see the city getting back on its feet.
Werde gerne noch einmal wiederkommen und mit Freude die positive Veränderung dokumentieren. Doch eine Gelegenheit zu einem erneuten Besuch hat sich leider noch nicht ergeben.

Freedom means freedom for all citizens and religions.
Who wants to be free, must give freedom to everyone.

OVIM RATOM SVI SU IZGUBILI
Sarajevo wird auch klein Jerusalem von Europa genannt ! Da dort Juden, Christen und Muslime zusammen leben !
