Hayden Nier there’s a million versions but I think it’s the original orchestration of Air on a G string (2nd movement of the Bach orchestral suite in D Major) ruclips.net/video/pzlw6fUux4o/видео.html. Before off the wagon is some remix of the Prelude no.1 in C Major.
Cameron Maier is a god damn genius. The editing is dead nuts perfect and I love the story of having the trip start out with no sends (and no music), just piecing stuff together and then eventually being able to put climbs down and culminating in them both doing their thing on Off the Wagon. Super inspiring film making.
What’s so nice about the off the wagon shot from underneath is that I think a lot of us know the moves, and so seeing such a different take on the moves we’ve seen over and over is super fresh and yeah little artsy (the composition is sweet). Man this channel is a gem. Like a never ending Dosage series.
loved the concept for this film. Woods' "I dream of blowing it up" after fails (3:55) together with shots of blown up blocks of rock, and then the switch into sends with shots of sculptures made from these blocks. Kudos!
For some reason I thought the concept of "Stone Spirit" and the rocks being crumbIed, which came after they had faiIed on most of the bouIders they tried, couId be it.
I love that there is failing and falling because most videos just show us the send and never really get yo witness or admire the real hard work that goes into each climb....great job mellow
That was a cool journey of a film. The first 10 minutes I was confused by the jumps between boulders etc and getting frustrated at the lack of context, then in the last 10 minutes it all came together. Well done!
Brandon Dann worse than that lol. E12 to E9. And two E10s to E8. But honestly James Pearson is a good dude and fixed his stuff and also went back and did Rhapsody. You should watch the Redemption reel rock film if you haven't already.
@@crescentfuze ah thats right. And yes i saw it pretty badass, i just couldnt think of his name. But yea that stuff is so fascinating despite the "grading is subjective" shpeel. Also shanti packs 5.13 to a 511😂 i mean a whole 6-7 grades cmone
The sound design and music was so good, love what Mellow is doing. For those interested: 10:43 - Biba Dupont by Volga 13:25 - tonight, tomorrow by Jacob Pavek 16:10 - Prelude, Sung Eun Choi 19:25 - Airona, Agni Bjark
at 02:06 it's one of the few angles there are where you can truly comprehend the level of difficulty of this boulder because it really shows how steep it is holy shit. Most videos of that problem don't show it from that perspective.
An absolutely amazing video. We really understand the emotions of the climbers and I can not explain why but the way of filming exposes more than in other climbing videos the difficulty of the grades.
What a masterpiece guys. I really needed this. I've been dying in bed for the past two weeks with non-stop excruciating headaches. This at least gave me 21 minutes of no pain bliss. 🙏 Thank you.
ok so about off the wagon - what's up with that wagon? who owns it and leaves it there forever? like does it never get moved and what if it does get moved and/or replaced by a different wagon with different dimensions, does that change the climb? has anybody tried the climb from the ground or would the wagon fall apart if moved or is it not allowed to move it? just feels so nuts to have one of the world's most famous boulders crucially involve a rickety, old, mobile piece of farm utility. Like why don't we open up more climbs like 'off that one branch of that one tree halfway up the rock' etc? sorry my mind is going on a tangent here. just wondering.
It would be cool to see raw footage of one of your climbing sessions. even if it's 3 hours long and a lot of just sitting around with no sends. It would be like climbing ASMR
the match then jump out method was easier for me. I could not 3 finger open hand the crimp and rose like shawn and to go from 3 fingers to 4 then rose was harder than the match. I did do the rose move in isolation... dope move
Sorry to say but this is the first mellow clip I didn‘t like so much. Some stuff is still cool here but stone industry honestly is not. These companies blow up und dig away once and forever our unique rock formations or even parts of mountains for cash and as a climber or alpinist I cannot endorse that.
Always nice when father and son share the same passion. And hearing the father encouraging his son to give everything on the boulder shows how involved he is.
This might be the first bouldering video after the release of "The Real Thing" that isn't just some copy but actually creates it's own style and story-telling to document the todays state of bouldering.
Never thought I’d hear Bach watching an 8C+ boulder
best surprise ever, right? It made my day!
And the dudes yelling just completely ruined it
@@ldb5526 nah
What piece is this?

Can't wait to hear "I can't do this" and 10 seconds later they crush the boulder like always.
yummy pickel
80 year old me to my grandkid: "So.... there was this wagon parked under a boulder"

So well shot, so well edited. Amazing film.

Holy shit lmao, good catch

the tempo and cinematogrophy is just incredible
lol Daniel Woods "my fingers aren't strong enough..."
It’s all relative!
He actually said 'my fingers aren't strong that way'. aka his (full) crimp strength is super strong but his open hand/drag isn't nearly as much.
@@crescentfuze no I know, but it is still funny to hear from Dwoods because comparatively I'm sure his open hand strength is still ridiculous
Hands down my favorite Mellow vid. It builds up so much tension through the first half and is so satisfying when the sends start.
I’m crying the sound production is so good.
directed by Lars Von Trier
jajajajaj
Is it a dream?
I was trying to remember what the editing reminds me of, you're right!
Beautifully done. This might be the magnum opus for bouldering and Mellow.
I love that there is failing and falling because most videos just show us the send and never really get yo witness or admire the real hard work that goes into each climb....great job mellow
Best bouldering video I've ever seen. The struggle and then the send. With Bach in the background of course
The editing on this video is so amazing.
Incredible composition and storytelling through video. And yeah the climbing got me stoked and stroked as well
That was a cool journey of a film. The first 10 minutes I was confused by the jumps between boulders etc and getting frustrated at the lack of context, then in the last 10 minutes it all came together. Well done!
Thanks Cameron!
3:02 Giuliano after Paul downgraded REM
Wait paul did what? When was this???
@James Dazhong Cook lmfao, us humans and our egos. Reminds me of that dude who climbed "E11" and got downgraded to E9😬 gotta love it

I thought Giuliano and his camera buddy downgraded it to V2 right after sending
Mate, the editing in this is so good
Felt like a bouldering movie produced by A24. So dope!
damn thats super accurate
OFF THE WAGON SIT boulder was insane
what you fail : this piece of s***.
when you succeed: such a cool boulder
I don't think the rock cares, but it certainly says something about the human who said it.
As stunning art and movements as always
That parallel edit between Daniel and Matty on Momentum was everything 😍
The bulder power is amazing but the editing of the video is simply genious... There is so much vibe in this video...
Wow, this video truly accentuates the magical eeriness of that place. Great climbing film.
This video blew me away. This is a piece of art, especially the sound design. Please continue this way ...
It is so good!
Cant wait to go to Switzerland
Open the borders!
this is a piece of art
Best climbing film I've seen ✊
best damn bouldering film i ever saw

That's some serious film making right here.

I like the Between the Trees throwback, "scrambled it like it was an egg."
Good music and filming.
Masterpiece :O ....
Fastest send at the end hands down!
You really put Bach in there, i am so satisfied.
Is this where I say Yeet

Am I just watching the first climbing horror movie???
fucking beautiful
daniels third eye gives him super powers
Haha I started the video thinking it was about failing and I felt normal for once. Then they sent everything at the end 😂😂
Surprised that Daniel didn't do the rose on Off The Wagon
the match then jump out method was easier for me. I could not 3 finger open hand the crimp and rose like shawn and to go from 3 fingers to 4 then rose was harder than the match. I did do the rose move in isolation... dope move
Daniel Woods , is there a reason it took a while to send? I think during the Go Font Yourself vid, you were trying it. Is it anti style?

I don’t think this video is endorsing the stone industry, if anything they are showing how boulders left as they can be used for something amazing
if you're in the chat and the live stream ended you can refresh the page and its fully uploaded
This was absolutely beautiful. Insane climbing, beautiful shots, perfect sound editing. 10/10
Nice edit
damn now im gonna dream of stones, thanks i guess
im gonna dream of blowing up
Really nice film! Hypnotic. I enjoyed how it highlighted the hard work put in.
Wow! Well done! Love the culmination off the wagon and the music, so good!
Daniel at 17:48 is why I love climbing so much. “We’re here, we’re here, breathing mountain air. Watching people climb rocks.” It’s the best.
The best Mellow shit until now 💪🏻✊🏻
Wait WHAAAAATTT?? When did Daniel send the Sit Start?? Holly shit
March 9th 2020
I love the music. This edit is like a meditation. Beautiful!
Nice one. Fresh edit too. No music during work seshs' then send music was a nice touch.
Giuliano full marsh-mellow at 20:29
Always nice when father and son share the same passion.
And hearing the father encouraging his son to give everything on the boulder shows how involved he is.
i had no idea jimmy was daniel's dad
Nothing funnier than rewatching this and realizing Giuliano was wearing the biggest puffy known to man.
This might be the first bouldering video after the release of "The Real Thing" that isn't just some copy but actually creates it's own style and story-telling to document the todays state of bouldering.
JUST HIT REFRESH LOL
Whats the song at 15:00?
So well done guys! Bravo 👏🏻 keeping the psych alive and well.
That poor ladder at the end
Love how the second i see Dwoods miming that rose I know what climb he's talking about
So inspiring!!Wtf !! Best climbing channel and amazing content
Holly shit! I watched as I was enchanted and at that time naked women were walking next to me and I didn't pay attention to them at all 😍
man, such a good video. Off the Wagon Sit was fucking hyped
Damn DWoods is possibly the most cringe person I've never met.
Thank You Cameron! that was sick!!
Dear Mellow, I will FA a boulder problem and name it 'Mellow' if I get a free Tee. Do we have a Deal ?.
That tree down climb.
Mellow should team up with delo project and film some climbs
Wow such a creative video! Keep it up Mellow crew!!!
If Ari Aster made a climbing video this would be it!!
matty has gotta be the funniest guy in climbing
world class climbing to world class music from Bach - Wohltemperiertes Klavier and Air were well chosen! :)
Incredible film. Love every aspect of it. The cherry on top would be if you guys got a mini glide-cam!
Did Carlo send OFF THE WAGON???
Classy fuckin music for some classy fuckin fellows. 🤙
You know what would’ve made this better? 100 fewer shots of that same stone wall.
Amazing movie, moves and sound , good job
Actually a modern classic. Incredible
Such an excellent vid! Keep it up:)
All these shots are sick, great video bois
Name of the boulder: "B**** a** piece of Shi**"
