that is scary having any device going down to 0% battery life there will be always chance for battery to died or damaged badly and lowering the battery performance.

This shouldn't happen unless you leave your device sitting with a flat batter for half a year or more. Even in that case it will be fine most of the time.

This happened to me when i bought a second hand 512gb steam deck when the oled released , I got it for cheap on ebay but it wouldn't stop crashing in some games it would crash after 1 min of gameplay , I ended up returning it and buying the oled directly from valve , since I got it I had 0 issues ( apart of one dead pixel ) I wont be returning it as the delivery in UK was atrocious parcelforce left my steam deck unattended outside of my house and i had to rush while at work to see if it was still there....

Come to think of it the issues did seem to start around that time. They were always kind of there in the background though so I think it might have just been the killer blow. Hope your new deck is working well!

On 3.5 there is a bug, which crashes the whole steamdeck If there is a GPU or memory Error. On 3.4/3.6 just the game crashes, so If you still have random game crashes it could be hardware fault.

I had this same issue with my steam deck. Random crashes during game play. Sent it to steam for fixing. Got it back. Same issue. At this point was gonna try everything can to fix the issue. Now i think i figured it out. Switched my OS from stable to preview. Ever since then, no crashes. Which makes me believe it's a steam OS issue
