  • You spend more you get more but it doesn't necessarily mean its better. In this video ‪@oldmanwintereight‬ and Jayson run you through the men's bindings from Burton from the 21/22 season and help you decide which ones work best for you and your riding style.

    I am running Cartels and Genesis. Burton are the best bindings. No question.

    I have the Cartels on my Orca but all the rest of my boards have the Mission it's a great all round binding, my opinion of course.

    Board length recommendation? Regular/wide?
    Binding size thoughts?
    Boot recommendation for that setup?

      158 Custom, size L bindings, boots are really up to you and your personal preference but most people would do something like a Swath or Photon.     I've been riding Malavita for years but always been interested in the Genesis. What's the big difference between the 2 bindings feel and flex wise?

      Flex wise they are similar you are just getting a big upgrade in the highback and the straps. Little bit more of and All mountain ride in the Genesis. It's one of my favorite bindings.

    What is the best binding to compare to the union flite pro in terms of pricing, riding style and comfort?

      In all honestly, the Flight Pro is kind of a hard binding to beat at that price. Especially the 21/22 version that has been completely redesigned.

    I've got a pair of men's Burton Imperial Boots size 10. Looking at either the Cartels or Malavitas. Would you suggest a medium or large size? I ride a Burton Custom 162 if that makes any difference.

      Definitely go for Medium! You boots will fit in a large but you'll get a better, more snug fit out of a Medium. I have size 11 myslef and always run Mediums when i ride Burton bindings.

    I have the burton instigator and a medium stiff pair of boots and I'm caught between the Freestyle and the Mission. I'll mostly be all mountain riding, park every now and then but mainly trees or groomers. Suggestions?

      Do the Mission. The freestyle is more of a beginner binding.

    Just replaced my 2014 Burton Custom Flying V with a 2022 K2 Alchemist and I’m interested in the Genesis for the K2. Any downsides to choosing them over the Cartel X, which might be the more typical binding? I wanted a faster, more stable setup but with comfort and not too lively.

      The Genesis would be a prefect option for you. The Cartel X has a stiffer baseplate so it will be more lively. I love the Genesis myself because it is the perfect bend of smoothness and performance. www.the-house.com/bugmwmed924zz-burton-snowboard-bindings

    What size binding would you suggest with a size 11.5 photon. Putting on a burton custom. Also whitch binding would you suggest for fast all mountain riding (resort groomers mostly). I would have preferred a stiffer boot but couldn't afford the ion and I'm not sure if having a stiffer binding might make up for that a little because if it doesn't then the genesis might seem better for the comfort aspect, but if it does then the cartel x sounds better to keep me sucked back into the binding minimizing that heal lift

      If you wanted a stiffer boot I'd definitely go with the Catel X as it has a stiffer flex and will make up the extra quickness edge to edge. www.the-house.com/search?keywords=cartel+x

    Hey guys! I’m pretty new to buying snowboard gear, I’ve been renting the last 2 years all season so decided to take the leap this year and buy my own gear. I got a capita board, now trying to find the best bindings. Any suggestions I’m not picky on the brand of them!

      Honestly there are a lot of good options out there. Most people would probably go with Unions because they are Capita's sister company but you can pretty much use anything. Which Capita board did you get?

      @@thehouse I got the capita pathfinder reverse camber in a 155! If you have any boot suggestions, I am all ears!

      @@KirbstompHD Traditionally on the PAthfinder you would use a little softer bindings since its is a little softer board. I would check out bindings rated as soft/medium unless you wanted a little quicker reaction. Then bump up to more of a medium flex.

    I've always had trouble with the straps breaking on my Burton bindings. I haven't bought a new pair in a few years, so is this an issue that has been adressed? I think my current bindings (the P1's) have one of it's original straps left.

      Oh wow, yeah its definitely time to upgrade bindings. And to put your mind at ease I haven't seen a broken strap from any binding company in the last 10 year.

    How is Step On Genesis compared to Women’s Escapade? Asking only because Genesis size S is OOS at house but Escapade size M is not. Basically can men use men’s boots on women’s bindings if the size is in the correct range after converting men’s size to women’s?

      The Escapade is basically the women's Genesis. You however CANNOT swap men's and women's products. Men's boots have to go with men's bindings and women's boots have to go with women's bindings.

    good afternoon. tell me about the choice of fasteners from the collection 21-22. I rode Burton custom for five years, the style of skiing is prepared slopes, through the forest, and a few jumps, well, freeride, it turns out a universal riding style, thanks in advance

    i got the 2022 skeleton key 158 board and the Cartel EST bindings. size 10 boot all they had was large bindings is that going to be a good fit for me?

      @@thehouse Thank you so much for the comment. I actually hit the slopes this weekend and the Large was JUST a little loose. I returned them and got a Medium so its going to be a way better fit for this weekend when i go out. And i was able to get the last medium on the Cartel X EST's with the graphics that match the 2022 skeleton key :) so hyped !!! appreciate you!!!

    I've picked up a pair of Burton ruler size 10 and a 2022 Burton process. Would you recommend the genesis or Malavita? Would the cartel be a no go?

      There’s a few good options out there. You can really ride any stiffness of boot on any board.     hey guys , If I bought ripcord board, is there any point to buy mission bindings? Or freestyle is right for ripcord? I'm beginner. Also what should I choose between moto and ruler boots. Thank you forward

      If you have a couple extra bucks to spend go for the Mission and Rulers. They will last you longer performance-wise. As you outgrow the performance of the board you can transfer the Missions over to your new board.

    Do i go est cartel x or est genesis? I don’t spend a lot of time in the park. More cruisin, tight runs in the woods, challenging terrain. I want comfort and response. Any thoughts? Is one of those a better fit for me? Better fit for the custom camber?

      It's all personal preference. Depends on if you want a quick reacting binding (Cartel X) or more of a smoother feel (Genesis). Can't go wrong either way.

      Not the traditional binding for that board but I back it. Good thing is when you are ready to upgrade boards in the future you will have a binding that will drive ANY high end board! 👍

    I'm struggling to find many reviews or information on the Burton X EST bindings, with the carbon highbacks. I missed my chance at any other binding model during Burton's summer clearance, and ordered the X EST White/black. Are there any reviews on these bindings?

      THe X EST is a rad bindings but it's not for everyone. Not only does it have a carbon highback but the baseplate is 1/2 carbon as well. Combo that with the floating fiberglass footbed it is a super fast reacting binding. Definitely for those rider who wants a super aggressive binding under their feet. We will have a full video just like this one for the 22/23 Burton Bindings coming out in a couple months where we talk about ALL the bindings.

      @@thehouse Thanks for the reply! I'm an intermediate snowboarder with just one season under my belt (30 days). I consider myself a quick learner since I was riding double blacks within my first 10 days and steadily progressed through the rest of the season. Do you think the Burton X might still be a bit to advanced for me? I rode older Burton Cartels (not sure the year) this entire season and always felt they could be a bit stiffer. If it helps, I'm planning to get a Burton Process Camber to pair with them. Thanks again for any input you may have!

      @@karzy111 Up to you. If you walked into the shop and told me your level and riding experience so far I would probably stick you on a pair of Missions or Cartels. I'm sure you'll be ok, but just be ready for the quickness from edge to edge.

    So is there even a very big difference between the feel of the Cartel (non X) and the Malavita besides the ankle strap and hammock? Seems like the Cartel X takes it for being stiffest.

      The Cartel X is definitely the stiffest and quickest reacting binding. The Malavita is more for a rider who wants all mountain performance but probably rides park a bit and likes the smoother feel edge to edge. The Cartel is basically a good priced all mountain staple that you can pretty much put on any board but you do get those big strap, buckle and highback upgrades when you compare it to the Malavita.

      No Freestyle EST. The typical level of rider that would own the freestyle probably wouldn't notice the difference between ReFlex and EST. Plus the freestyle is already a pretty soft flexing binding.

      Definitely. It's a somewhat basic but great binding, and a beginner can grow with it. I know a lot of advanced riders that still run the mission.

      For sure, Freestyles are the technical "beginner bindings" but the Mission is a great upgrade and a binding that you will not outgrow the performance on.

      Only the less expensive boards are made in China, the higher end boards that require more in the build process are made in Austria.
