      I hate that a "good looking" board now is just black and white; there are so many boards out there that are just black and/or white. It's so boring, I miss all the fun, bright colors from 10 years ago. To get anything with color now, you have to get women's gear which usually is too small.

    If you can learn to ride on a full camber board that's pretty stiff, then you are never going to need to upgrade to another board type. Worth taking the extra time.

I can’t find any good free thinker reviews, any thoughts on going from my vintage board to the free thinker?

    Considering a board for my Dad. Midwest riding. 63 years old. 5’11” 220 lbs. both hips replaced so he is concerned about taking a bad spill. Athletic from lots of bike riding. Aside from a burton throwback at the sled hill He has not been a board with bindings since 2010. It was a burton indie. He was good on it. He grew up snurfing. He likes cruising around long board style on greens and blues. Occasionally hits a baby jump some kids made for a foot or two of air. Torn between instigator and rip chord. He is not entirely a beginner but he is concerned what could happen if he took a bad spill on midwest conditions. He also likes the idea of the new step on bindings. Which ones would pair well?

    • @thehouse
      @thehouse  Год назад +1

      Either of those boards would be rad but its up to you, The Custom X is basically a suped up version of the Custom. Basically a Custom that will be more aggressive and jumpier feeling edge to edge. The Flight Attendant will be closer to the Custom "aggressiveness -wise" But with the tapered shape you'll get WAY more float in the pow and slightly more aggressive turning when riding regular with really easy exits out of your turns. Cant go wrong either way.

    I decided to go for the custom because even if my riding style is more playful I want a board which I can use the next years and grow into it. I mainly drive piste with a lot of freestyle (180/360, side hits, butters). My hight is 172 cm and weight because of working out relatively high with around 80 kg. I consider everything from 150 to 156cm. I know that the shorter ones are easier for butters and spins but would lead to less stability while carving or less pop. Hey guys, nice video. I'm currently riding a Rossignol templar 2017 (hybrid camber) with Rossignol cobra bindings and Burton ruler boots.
    I've been advised at the shop to go with the templar as I'll be less bored after a few years compared to a beginner board.
    I ride about 2-3 days a year since 2018, and I'm still struggling with my toe turns and so I'm getting a hard time controlling my speed. I don't ride often enough to get my learning curve to progress as I would. I love riding, but the fact that I'm often catching edge, I'm a bit discouraged.
    I'm so thinking of buying the ripcord or investigator with FX bindings as both boards seem more appropriate to my level and my time spent riding and enjoy a bit more my day.
    What do you suggest between the ripcord and investigator ?

    • @thehouse

      @@bendezy11 I would go with the 162, the Custom would be a great replacement for that old Aftermath. BURTON CUSTOM-> www.the-house.com/bucm150968zz-burton-snowboards

    If I wanted to hit bigger jumps and ride powder a bit more often, would the free thinker or the custom camber be the better choice? The burton site gave the free thinker more points in park and pow, but this vid gave some other points that said the directional tip might be better for pow

      I would go with the Custom for sure. Little bit better outside the park. www.the-house.com/bucm150968zz-burton-snowboards

      @@thehouse Thank you! I'm mainly a park junkie but I want to venture out on the pow more, would the custom still be better that way? I realized I phrased my earlier question in a way that suggests I want to ride more pow than jumps, but it's the other way round

      @@ACEsevaeron If your primary focus is park then the Free Thinker would be the better option. Just take your stance and drop it back a bit for the pow days.

    My GF saw the Custom and wanted it so bad. She was so bummed when she found out it was a men’s board and they didn’t have it in her size. 😂. She loves the neon color.

    what size custom for an all mountain rider 5'10" 220 lbs. my weight fluctuates a lot being in the bodybuilding world so it's hard to pick a size. I fluctuate from 200-225. I ordered a 158 but I'm worried it's going to be too small. resort riding only
