Just a tip, if your using flat batting like that, when you do right sides together, put the batting on top of the printed fabric. Then sew around the edges. Then when you reverse it, the batting is stuck in place. Then just do a couple lines to "quilt" the batting in place and a top stitch and your done with a bed that can be washed and wont distort or clump
One thing you can do to make it easier, is sew your batting to one side of the bed when your sewing them together. Then when you turn it right side out, its already inside and its attached! Great job!
Well done! You spoke clearly and concisely as well as performed the sewing and positioning in a way that can be easily understood by a "non sewist". The only thing I would add is to have them pre-wash their fabrics as most Flannels and Cottons shrink differently and can "bleed" their dyes. Keep up the great work and hope you earn your Silver Award.
I recommend stitching batting in place on each corner by sewing on a diagonal 1-2” from the top of each corner. This prevents batting from bunching up after several washings.🐶😺
what wonderful idea! Thank you for the great tutorial, I think I will be making a few of these for our local shelter. I have a ton of fabric just stuffed in a dresser, so this would be a great use for it. Thank you!
Thank you for a great pet bed tutorial! My quilt guild sews cat mats for one of our local no-kill shelters. We just adopted three kittens from the shelter and they love their cat mats.
Thank you so much! This is just what I needed. I am helping my local shelter my kitten and cat beds and I wasn't sure of the best way to make them easy and sturdy! I will follow your lead!!
Beautiful job girls! Have been looking for an easier way to make the pads then to tie the edges and you have cleared that up for me. Save a step and add batting when stitching the wrong sides together which will keep them from shifting as well. Love them!
What a fantastic idea 😊. I bet those shelter animals were so happy to have a comfy place to rest! Did any of the shelters give you guidelines for suggested bed sizes? I’m thinking I can use my cutoff batting scraps for a project like this.
Great video! Thanks very much for the detailed instructions, you make it look so easy...... I'm off to find some comfy fabric to make a few beds for my local cat rescue.

Great idea to help out local animal shelters and a really good tutorial!
Nice job girls. I'm going to make some beds and recycle some old mattress pads instead of using batting. I really like how you stabilized the batting.

Fantastic project well done
Adrianna and Meara - Very nice video. A great idea to use up leftover batting and fabric from other sewing and quilting projects.
Think this is fabulous great tutorial thank you
Good job girls!
