That was my Favorite Bob Glidden Car, Loved that 87-88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe Model, my Second Favorite was the Blue Chief Auto Parts Thunderbird that he ran the Previous Year. Bob completely Dominated Pro Stock those years. Seen him Many Times at Englishtown Mid Eighties to Early Nineties i was around 13-14 Years Old back then, Bob WAS the Man. What he did with a FORD was un heard of. Legend in my Book.

I second this. The 87-88 Bird was my favourite with the blue car second. Back when they had the Manufacturer's Cup, Bob would win it for Ford. How could 1 Ford possibly accumulate more points than the GM hordes put together? ? This is how!!!!!! He would qualify number 1, set the ET and speed record, then win the event. Guy was brilliant and the hardest working guy around the hardest working guys. A Legend.

@@burningblue1254 Yes sir, completely agree. I remember going to Englishtown for the Summer Nationals, it was Always 1 Ford, maybe 2 when Ricky Smith was racing, and Bob pretty much Dominated the Class. He will Always be the Greatest Drag Racer in my book, regardless of National Event Wins, think Bob had 85 if i remember correctly. Yeah, i Loved the 87-88 Red Motorcraft Thunderbird Turbo Coupes, then just like you, second would be the Blue Chief Auto Parts Thunderbirds the previous few years. Always wanted to build a Tribute Car, actually had a few 88 Turbo Coupes, but already had my 86 Mustang that i had since 1994, and still have it, built up a 69 351 Windsor first, then a 72 351 Cleveland, and about 10 Years Ago built a 521 Stroked BBF, which it currently has, went Low to Mid Nines on 275/60 Drag Radials, N/A Built C-4, Built 8.8 with 3.90s.

I loved all of Bob's Fords! Whether it was the Pinto,Probe,Mustang or T-Birds,small or big block. They all had one thing in common, they won! Oh how could I forget the mighty Fairmont? The only P/S that was undefeated the whole racing season! Never been done before or since! RIP BOB,a true legend & my hero!❤😎👍💔😯😔😥
