New Mexico Hiking: Pyramid Rock, Red Rock Park, Gallup, NM.
With limited time to hike and a long drive ahead of me to go home, I chose a local Gallup hike to complete. In retrospect, I chose wisely. In fact, this may be the nicest hike I completed on my trip. The trail passes through red rocks on the way to a conical summit overlooking the desert. Much effort was put in to establishing this route from the trail planners. I appreciate being able to visit due to all their hard work. Memorable views, and a memorable hike.

During your hikes in Arizona, did you climb Camelback Mountain in Phoenix?

No. I thought about it on the way there, but it was 113 degrees when I was nearby. I’ll save it for sometime in the future.

I started hiking at 6:30 AM and wrapped it up by 9.
