Thanks for your comment, and it is just the kohler, and yes I do still have it, the video shows it running, but I repowered the tractor, because I did NOT want to trash the engine with one of the common outcomes. it is located in near Lima OH, and I intended on gettinga reasonable/fair amount for it. where do we go from here? Tom, Yes it is, Bluffton OH,45817. Just to let you know I do know that even in a need for some repair that this motor still has some considerable value as a whole and unfortunately considerably more parted out. regards Colin
I think the small end / little end bearing is worn out, (I know the terms for this are different in UK and USA, so this is the bearing that connects the small end of the connecting rod to the piston, and I expect at a minimum a set of rings
@2008FORDF450V8 Thx for comment Yes that ist appears is the all too often the way they go, but I stopped before that happened, so there is a chance of repair.
If you can send me a private message with an idea of what you're looking for price wise we can go from there; this would be a better rebuild candidate than the series one KT in my allis chalmers right now

Is the whole tractor for sale, or was it just the kohler you were selling? I'm assuming by now it's gone to a new home.
@colincox1whichnet What exactly is wrong with it? Aside from some white smoke out the exhaust of course.

mym dad had the same engine on his 317 tractor but it threw a rod and destroyed the engine
