I will try this, I never had any luck with wets, then I tried your Diawl bach and I caught up here in Scotland. I need to fish just one fly as I'm only beginning and whenever I use 2 I get tangled or have no luck on the dropper anyway. Cheers I will tie a few up this week

I'd like to try British fly fishing methods for our Canadian fish so I'm spending the winter researching and tying flies. I'm recognizing most of the common UK patterns but am still sorting out how they are intended to be fished. Do you have a video that summarizes the patterns and their use? Could you recommend a (basic) set of flies (patterns, sizes and colors) that would help a newbie get started? Thanks in advance. ATB!

I do one quit similar but I varnish the pearl body before I add the feathers as the fish destroy them . It's my all round most successful fly.
