The primary reason for Kenny to select this subject - "not to joke" about politicians is because of an incident happened with AIB comedians event - roast. Which featured couple of Bollywood celebrities as well and the heat came from politicians on the comedian.
They were protested across the nation, in front of their homes, boycotted from doing any stand up comedy (in short - destructed their career for a while)
And surprisingly, the celebrities who were also part of the roast, didn't get the heat. Their movies were released normally.
(one of them was lead actor of Padmavat-i).
Since you research well about subjects you react to, I thought of Sharing this with you.
The content of this video came through that pain of a colleague - which becomes more understandable, relatable..

National anthem is an issue in India...I have no problem for standing for national anthem...everyone should...but making it mandatory in movie theaters is not right thinking. If this is to be accepted, then it should also be played before every Parliament session, every court before they start proceedings, every public institutions and so on...singling out theaters is pure hypocrisy.

Well firstly before watching the video, I thought of checking the comment section and then I found few Indians explaining why they don't want to stand whenever national anthem is played and I respect your decisions but personally I don't think standing for few seconds is that big deal. Also,you shouldn't stand because you have to but it should come from your heart.

I am an Indian. Standing for the National Anthem is not a law. We just force people to show the respect for the country by standing for it, so if someone doesn't stand he might get himself killed. It's crazy man.

When we are in school everyday in the morning we used stand n sing our national anthem. We never really questioned it. What I fail to understand is why there is an objection when a little reminder of the same thing is given whenever u are in a place with ur family n friends occasionally.

We live in a free country, there should not be instances where people should feel that they are under restrictions. I do understand people's sentiments regarding national anthem, but government should not poke it's nose by imposing it among masses, neither do people should get into moral policing.
It's the job of the parents to teach their kids to respect national anthem. Whenever a kid is born in any family, parents teach RELIGION to them by default... why not teach them Patriotism, gender equality, respecting all and being compassionate towards animals?

But, when I stand for national anthem in the movie hall, I do it out of fear, and when the anthem ends I feel relieved. A fear psychosis has been created, which is very disturbing.

Though i do respect my country and the national anthem but there are some instances where it's not possible to stand up for the anthem while watching sports so what I do is change the channel for like a couple of minutes ,so in this way i avoid disrespecting it.
But playing it in theatre is not a very good idea tbh .
They don't even play national anthem in theaters in my city, and there is no need for them in movie theaters anyway.

1) Standing up for the national anthem is optional in India, but everyone does it because it's awkward af otherwise.
2) The government had no part to play in Padmaavat being delayed; It was delayed due to the community that thought their heritage was being incorrectly portrayed. If anything, the government and the court tried their hardest to settle the dispute.

Saurav418 facts aren't biased......I'm just saying what's true. Supreme court has put a stay on the rule making it mandatory to stand up for the national anthem. As for the second situation.... the protests against Padmaavat were organised by VHP and the Rajasthani rajput community. The government was just being named by the opposition parties.
