    Always enjoy your lessons. These so called
    simple concepts are really harder to to execute when done right than drummers expect especially at up to tempos.

    Hey guys, hope you dig this one. If you'd like to go further with this concept, definitely check out the full course on ABBDRUMS.COM called "Moving Around The Kit."

    It would be great to be able to see your videos more often. They are really good stuff, and helped me a lot for practice and progress.

      Yea I've slowed down on RUclips a bit because I have to do other things to keep this all going, but I try to get to it as often as I can. It's a tough game!

    Enjoyed the tricky triplets and I'll be working at it. Thought you might want to know that while I'm receiving your emails, my Firefox browser will not play the videos. They work just fine when I switch to Google Chrome.

    Another great lesson again Austin T.Y. Steve Smith elaborates on this concept with his new book "Pathways To Motion".

    Thanks for the vids! Do u prefer traditional grip over matched for feel or finesse, or why? I am wanting to make a full time switch to traditional grip.

    • @abbdrums
      @abbdrums  5 лет назад +8

      The best way I can describe it is that traditional makes me play with more of a flowing textural style, while matched grip makes me play in a more precise staccato style. Matched is obviously more practical for modern drumset, but traditional does have a unique quality that makes you play differently and come up with different ideas, which some drummers gravitate to. It's tough to explain but hope that helps a little bit haha.

    Back to the small kit again?! What kind of a man are you if you don't have at least 4 toms? *SCOFF*
