Hi Rocco, John again with an update on the Knosti. I received my unit and have been using it quite a lot. My results are the best I have ever achieved! No clicks or pops from static or dirt (noise from poor pressing, bad vinyl or scratches remains of course) Similar to your report so far-- awesome results. But, when I look at the dead wax on cleaned records I see spots left from the evaporated cleaning fluid. The spots wipe off, so I thought no big deal. But then I noticed that the dried up puddles of fluid on the drying rack were a little sticky. This convinced me to add a rinse step. My rinse is as follows: Take the cleaned LP out of the Knosti to the sink and use a plastic squirt bottle to rinse off most of the fluid. Then, I take off the label protector and use the new HumminGuru NOVA for an US rinse (using DI water) and dry. After that, I do not see any residue. I change the rinse water after every 5 records or so. I tell you this because you have both machines as well. This is a lot easier that draining and rinsing out the Knosti to use the same unit to rinse records. Results are the same-- dead quiet as before. Maybe it's not necessary, but I feel better having rinsed. If you try it let us know your thoughts. It's not necessary to have two machines to rinse of course, but since I have both it saves time. A Kirmuss US unit would be a good rinse bath as well.
Glad you are enjoying the knosti and interesting to see the combo of both. That is a little pricey for most people but I would imagine it highly effective considering both machines clean so well. Another option and something I am going to try is using a more simple solution in the knosti the same way I do the HG NOVA.
Excellent walkthrough! I think this device has its own niche in that this it is essentially a chemical treatment + surface contact + cavitation. Its workflow is longer than the Humminguru but its also a completely different process and price point altogether. Glad you have found success with it.
How is the workflow longer than the HG? Do you mean when talking about the drying time? because initially going you fill up the tub - and pop in record and hit go - I think that is the same with the HG? We will see soon!
Hi Rocco, John here. I ordered the Knosti unit you reviewed about a week ago. Question for you-- how long did yours take to arrive? Mine is not late yet, but I'd like to get an idea of what to expect before I ask them to check on it. According to DHL tracking, mine has been sitting at IPZ Frankfurt since last Friday. Thanks for the info if you know the approx. delivery time. I enjoy your videos-- thanks!
If I recall it did take a couple weeks to come in. I have had so many mixed results with overseas shipments - sometimes it's fast and others it takes a while.
I tried to purchase this unit, but the webstore would not allow me to use paypal (the only option is to prepay by bank transfer). I'm not comfortable with that until I have a relationship with the company for a while. I don't suppose you have had that question before? Hope the Eagles can beat the Saints today! It will not be easy
Does anyone know at what speed you need to play half speed mastering LP ? I played it at 33 but the voice is...deeper than it should be...I have ABBA Waterloo half speed mastering....do I need to play it at 45 ? 78? What do I need to do to make it sound "normal" ?
If it’s a 33rpm record it should be played at 33. Half speed mastering doesn’t have anything to do with the rpm a record is cut at. Is it possible the record is a 45rpm LP? Playing it at 33 would make it sound slow and low. But half speed mastering doesn’t affect this.
@@PiecesofVinyl It is a 45 rpm 12'' LP ...and it works normal on 45 speed....and at first I didn't see it ...but it says on back of cover that it's 45 rpm...thanks for help..been listening to album that's why I didn't respond sooner. This was my first half speed master recording so I just put it on 33 speed like all the other 12 '' vinyl. Anyway thaks for help/response. Spread like an eagle on bed and tell your wife that tonight she's on top :D :P Your work is done...good deed done.
What is the fluid supposed to do exactly? Because the cavitation does the cleaning and the water molecules don't need any help. I think it's just a money spinner for the ones making it, especially when they won't tell you the ingredients, you could be buying expensive water.
This is a HUGE rabbit hole - and often a point of controversy with ANY Ultrasonic cleaner that says to use a cleaning solution - its defiantly NOT just water - it smells and bubbles - now - it could just be some kind of detergent - there is probably some kind of surfactant - it does not leave a residue - I purposely have left some liquid on my table and on a dead record and there was no trace "to the naked eye" or white residue or anything like that. Knosti says that it really helps with anti static - again - I dont have one of those tools to test that - but the records have been very quiet that I have tested.
@@PiecesofVinyl It's great that it doesnt seem to be leaving any residue, but not adding it also won't leave any reside 🤣 I'm just wondering what it actually does, because if it's not actually doing anything then it doesn't matter that it's not leaving residue, your buying a placebo.
All ultrasonic cleaners make a noisy from the transducers, are you sure it’s an ultrasonic cleaner ? The desk cleaner says it’s and ultrasonic cleaner but it’s just a blubber.
I am trusting the company in that they its an Ultrasonic cleaner - how would I test for that exactly? The results - for me - seem to be doing something.....

Simple, and straight forward use. I like that about this cleaner. You also have a lovely home brotha man. Much love to you
You are the man! 👊🏻

Great vid. They have alot of competition especially now the Nova is out.
I agree. Stay tuned😜

Take the seals off the clamp. Doesn’t get stuck on.
