Chen, Clouse and Krux are the most likely candidates to be going after Jay's mother. Chen and Clouse wanted her Lightning power for the spell. Krux wanted revenge.
A season like Master Of The Mountain but with Jay instead could have been brilliat and so interesting to see. This far we haven't seen much of Jays backstory and especially not the deep of his powers. I like Prime Empire but it would have been so much better if the focus had been on the element of lightning and Jays history instead of the video game. The season touches on it in the end but not as much as it apparently could have.

I hope they do add that. But I think rather in the book 'quest for lost powers'. We had already seen a page about Zane, and I hope they explain there how he got his powers. It would make sense to talk about Jay's history as well.

Every season that went on after skybound I had the hoped they would finally have jay find out what happened to his mother or be reunited with her considering Zane found his father in season 2, Kai and nya found out what happened to their parents and reunited with them and Cole learned about his mother's past back in the master of the mountain season In all honesty in ninjago united they need to finally wrap up jays family history and what really happened to his mother for her to give her child away at such a young age

But I would've liked to know about Jay's Mother and the other Masters of Lightning before her. Also it would be cool if we ever get a new series of shorts about each ninja and the legacy of their powers and family.

Come think of it, if Tommy has given the Ninjago writer’s team some ideas to possibly play around with, before he left, for potential future seasons, maybe this scrapped/ unused concept could be revised and revisited. As there could an interesting plot built around it. Like perhaps whoever was chasing young Jay & his mother, (presumably called Libber) for their elemental powers pops up once again in the modern time and is out to “tie up some loose ends” by tracking down Jay . Perhaps the threat who was Chasing the Gordon’s all those years ago is a villain from “Libber’s” past coming back to haunt them.
Remember Gordon is Cliff's last name, Jay's mom only took it when she married him, so unless they went after Cliff too because he's her ex husband they would only be after her and Jay. And if that Wooing Women book Cliff wrote has anything to say I wouldn't be surprised if Libber dropped the last name Gordon and went by her last name before marrying Cliff.
I wish we had a 60-minute special episode where we get a thorough backstory of the events leading up to the serpentine war, the war itself, and what happened to the elemental masters after. It could explain a lot of the Ninjago lore and history of the ninja's parents.
This backstory reminds me a lot of what happened in season 13 and it makes sense she would have to hide him though Jay's parents mention he came in some box and a key so maybe she just left him in the front door and then left. judging by how these stories go she's probably dead 🥲

I read that Jay's mother was supposed to be trapped in Prime Empire and that Jay was the supposed to rescue her. That's what I read and thought it was really cool! But unfortunately we still have no idea what what happened to her
Indeed, but the final product really wasn't all that bad either. While it would have been so much better if the season focused on Jay's backstory, the video game theme really worked in the favor of the season and made it light-hearted, even to the point where the deaths of four ninja and the extreme torture of another aren't really noticed at all.

She probably hid baby Jay in the junkyard right before she was captured and trapped inside the game. Protecting him from those that he and his friends do not yet know about who are after Elemental Powers. Or she is captured and the people will use her as bait to lure Jay and the others out and use their powers for whatever they want(maybe use them for themselves and become Corrupted Elemental Masters because they are not worthy to wield the elements of Creation). Whatever they go for I hope Jay and his birth mom get the reunion they deserve.

Acctully when they were fighting krux and acronix in the time twins season the master of lightning talks about going on a date with Fritz donnigan it’s shown near the start when the time twins use the iron doom to go back in time for another fight but this time with the snake army
