Macro photography ideas - 5 different subjects to shoot at home

- I recently asked what you wanted to see in my next video and 64% of you voted for "macro photography ideas".
I share some simple ideas for macro photography that you can shoot at home. Including pepper and salt, a hairbrush and a fork, a bunch of rusty keys, needle and thread and screws on a reflective surface.
For these photo's I use my 50mm lens and macro extension tubes. But you can use whatever you have on hand. Which subject is you favorite? Let me know in the comments below.

50mm f1.8 lens
Viltrox macro extension tubes
Canon EOS 80D
A normal lamp to light the subjects
Glass plate (or something else translucent)
Black sheet of perspex (or a mirror or glass plate with black paper underneath)

I liked a couple the keys and the needle and thread not to mention the screws with the driver. Beautiful job on all 5 subjects.
Thanks! It took a while to figure out what the best way was to do the photo with the needle and thread, but secure them between two stacks of books worked quite well! It turned out to be my favorite photo of the whole bunch, although I also like the moody vibe of the fork. Thanks for watching!

The needle just shows how creative you are :o) . My camera does photo-stacking, so I used a needle and just one piece of cotton to get a deeper depth of field. Never thought to use multiple threads and multiple colours. May try some of these in the winter months.

Prachtige foto’s Anne en zeker inspirerend. Had zelf ook al eens gedacht aan eten … te gaan fotograferen ipv opeten LOL. Maar alle gekheid op een stokje, je zet wel degelijk aan tot creatief denken. De distractie van de vork… nooit aan gedacht. Wat als je een lepel zou gebruiken , mmmm. Eens proberen op een regenachtige dag. Groet Alain

Excellent. Because of surgery I have limited mobility, so macrophotography is a good solution to making interesting photos. Will be using a Bronica 645 with extension tube.

which camera you use?
I use a Canon EOS 80D. It's a DSLR, but you can use any camera you like. There are even macro lenses for smartphones.

That’s some nice imagination!
Try taking photos of a bath sponge, the ones that have the rough white part on them. They look great too.
