@@jonathanwalsh6095 Hi Jonathan, I used a diamond bit with a fine point. If you’re not sure which bit is right for your project, you can test it out on a spare or scrap piece of material. Then you also get a feeling on how the engraving pen spins and how it react with the material you’re engraving. Good luck!

Hi! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having troubles with your engraving pen. Normally you just need to press the button and it should start. I recommend contacting the customer service from Resparked. It sounds like you’re having a defective device unfortunately.

@@alaincreatievereisinfotografie Dank je wel Alain! Nee, gaat niet zo lekker. Heb een paar weken in een gezondheidscrash gezeten, dat is net ietsje beter. We hebben al een aantal maanden plannen om de benedenverdieping opnieuw op te knappen. Nu is een vriendin bij ons voor twee weken op bezoek om ons te helpen behangen en schilderen. Maar alles loopt in de soep. De kleur ziet er echt roze uit op de muur, waarschijnlijk is het verkeerd gemengd. Maar we hebben geen energie om opnieuw de muren te doen. Het behang waar ik heel lang naar heb gezocht wat we vanmiddag wilden halen is sinds vorige week niet meer in het assortiment en ons TV-meubel is beschadigd geraakt. Gelukkig heb ik de beschadigingen relatief goed weten weg te werken met mijn acrylverf, maar je kunt het nog wel zien. Ook de wasmachine heeft nu kuren. En één van onze twee katten moet woensdag een gebitsbehandeling bij de dierenarts, daar maak ik me wel zorgen om. (Twee jaar geleden had onze andere kat dat ook en zij reageerde niet goed op de narcose waarop we haar bijna hadden verloren) Dus om een lang verhaal kort te maken…. Het is nogal chaotisch momenteel. Hoe is het daar?

@@alaincreatievereisinfotografie thnx, ja we zullen zien hoe het eruitziet wanneer de woonkamer weer helemaal is aangekleed met de gordijnen en als we ook behangen hebben. We moeten het plan een beetje aanpassen en ermee proberen te werken ipv het tegen te werken. Sterkte met jullie moeders, dat is zwaar. Koester ze zolang ze er nog zijn.

@@nadiaezzouaoui5893 Hi Nadia! I have a second hand Razertip SS-d10, but Razertip in general is a good brand, no matter the type you buy. It can be a bit more expensive, but it lasts for years to come and they have good service. Other good brands are Brenn Peter, Colwood and Optima. Just don't buy a cheap one from Amazon, the temperature control is not reliable, you will regret it. Good luck!

Hi Marisa! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the engraving pen. On what materials did you used the pen? Have you tested them all? You might did nothing wrong. Maybe the bits are the problem. In the standard kit there’s only one bit specifically for wood and the rest are diamond bits. Diamond bits you can use for most surfaces, like metals, glass, plastic, also for wood… Only the shapes are different, and which you use depends on what you want to make and it depends on preference. In this video I just tested a few from the ones I got. Slate, on which I engraved the dragonfly, is a very soft stone, so it wasn’t an issue for me. But a few weeks later I tested some other bits on wood and glass and I found out that quite a few of the bits just did nothing at all. Probably the diamond coating on some of the bits was gone. You might consider testing all of the bits and see if you have the same issue with all of them. If the issue are the bits, those aren’t very expensive, a few new bits from a different store might do the trick. But be sure they fit in the shaft of your engraving pen. You also can contact Culiau directly, maybe they can solve your problem. You bought a new product, so you might expect that it works properly. I hope this answer helped you in some way.
