I grew up on these tv shows. I never thought I'd see them again. And, crazy that I could even sing the Wonderbug theme song along with it, after it started.
I know right, I was just 5 years old but I still remeber this show as It was part of my daily TV intake, as well as others like; Captain Kangroo, Romper Room, Bigfoot & WildBoy, Shazam, Scooby Doo, Monster Squad, Land of The Lost, Gilligans Island, etc...
@7mj758 I was 8 in 81', born in 74', California, Orange County. In fact, we lived at the Orange Circle above a record store. Which was also my first job at 15, selling records to the squares. Our cartoons were definitely better than the current crap their trying to peddle to our kids today. I mean Peppy Le' Pew alone would be enough to cancel an entire network today.
Was just looking up the cast to see what they were up to or still acting... RIP John Bailey, but boy what a career switch. He had a lot of great credits, I will always remember him as Sticks in Happy Days. But looks like work credits were drying up before the switch to adult work.
The part of the intro where they show Wonderbug flying through the air, where you can tell it's a hot wheels car or something like it-I wonder who if anyone actually has that still. That would be the coolest prop to own!
Funny. They said, "Look for an old car.". Nevermind that there is a blonde girl with a bright yellow vinyl suit and a guy with huge green double "00" on his shirt.
I wonder if the Kroffts were taking a mild shot at Disney/Herbie when Wonderbug "said" he wanted to be "the world's first four-wheeled superstar." Herbie was pretty darn popular in the 60s and 70s. 🙂
So was just looking at a GIF of the old cartoon Speed Buggy and then was like WAIT! there was a live action show with a "living buggy" but it was like all red and sparkly....and through the power of Google I found it....Wonderbug! I watched this show obsessively as a kid.
Maybe because Wonderbug was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, who probably worked on Speed Buggy while they were at Hanna-Barbera. Frank Welker did the "vocal effects" for Schlepcar and Wonderbug. In recent years Frank Welker has done the voice of Speed Buggy . Not Surprisingly Speedy sounds a lot like Schlepcar. ruclips.net/video/ZlWVhmElnQo/видео.html
I'm not sure if I remember this show or not from early childhood. I think I might be confusing it with the cartoon Speed Buggy. So many weird fragmented memories of Saturday morning TV from when I was small
Before i go much further we the Kroft super show First started you had three shows Wonderburg Dr shrinker ( jay Robinson Billy Barty) then Electra woman and Dtna girl it was great before they turned it into bay city ROLLARS excitement
I was born in the late fall of 1978. I Love the Classic Wonderbug Saturday Televison Show and Theme Song!

When a memory takes you back to innocence ❤️

@@calden74 We had it made in the shade. I was 10 in 1981. Nuff said 😬

CeeCee's character is a mix of Freddy 'Boom-Boom' Washington from 'Welcome Back Kotter' and 'JJ Evans' from 'Good Times'. Dyno-mite!
Agree!
I see some David Chappelle in there too.
Sad thing is, he turned into an adult actor in the late 80's.
Gosh, I so loved 'JJ Evans' from 'Good Times' as I was growing up. He sure made me laugh.
@jsbadger I remember that. He was in an adult video called "White Chicks".
I remember this as a kid, but I confused it or conflated it with the Herby franchise. Thanks for posting!
Herbie's not too shabby. What Disney did to him was absurd. But yeah, for an old kids show this is cool.
AND Speed Buggy lol
The villains all seemed to have Brooklyn accents.
If watching this you grew up in some of the best of times as a kid
so true!
One of my favorite Krofft shows ❤️ Wonderbug. Need to release to DVD.
Oh the ‘70’s . 😌
I love to watch this show every single Saturday as a kid. #imissthegoodoledaysoftv
“Crooked Mod Squad”?? 😂
Knight Rider for kids... as if kids needed a kid-friendly version!
Always dig the music tracks used for most of these live action Saturday kid shows!
WOW this bring back old memories.
Sid and Marty Kroft ruled Saturday morning.

Fantastic acting.
😂😂
The part of the intro where they show Wonderbug flying through the air, where you can tell it's a hot wheels car or something like it-I wonder who if anyone actually has that still. That would be the coolest prop to own!
I thought the same thing😂
I wonder if they used the same miniature in The Incredible Shrinking Wonderbug.
Funny. They said, "Look for an old car.". Nevermind that there is a blonde girl with a bright yellow vinyl suit and a guy with huge green double "00" on his shirt.
I'm so freaking out. Electro woman and dyno girl was one! THIS IS ANOTHER. How do I remember these shows! but really don't remember them?
Miss the old days!!!
Just hearing the theme song takes me back to the 70s. I have not seen this since it came out back then. I'd literally forgotten all about it.
This is just live action SPEED BUGGY.
😊😊😊its still fun to watch
Thanks for sharing‼️ 👍🙂
That is my favorite TV show wonderbug😅 and I like the theme too
The black guy in this show he played in a episode of Good Times where he had robbed a bank.
I think he was in a few adult films 🎥 too, 1970s 1980s. 😉
Love krofft super show love wonderbug too💛
Theses were great shows to trip on when high af
Studio security was very slack back then.
Herbie, Speed buggy, Wonder Bug, Kitt and the batmobile. Famous cars from TV and movies. Any other ones I missed?
I wonder if the Kroffts were taking a mild shot at Disney/Herbie when Wonderbug "said" he wanted to be "the world's first four-wheeled superstar." Herbie was pretty darn popular in the 60s and 70s. 🙂
The Scorpionmobile, Viper, the General Lee just to name a few.
@@williammitchell4417 what were scorpion mobile and Viper? Talking more about classic shows.
@@robertcoggeshall3071 both came out shortly after KITT. Viper was literally a redo of streethawk only with a car instead. Black Scorpion was a Vette.
Mach 5 from Speed Racer
I watched it all the time, and Electro Woman and Dyna girl

It's like alive action Speed Buggy

Loving the Yiddishe schlep name. 😂😂
As a kid I thought it was a sibling of Herbie... lol
I wonder 🤔 what happened to the Slep car.
Anyone remember after The Krofft Supershow ended that local stations aired episodes of Wonderbug as a separate show on weekends in the late 1970s?
Shecky and Shmutz....The Putz Brothers.
I'm not sure if I remember this show or not from early childhood. I think I might be confusing it with the cartoon Speed Buggy. So many weird fragmented memories of Saturday morning TV from when I was small
I remember this
Will take the actress ( in costume/boots ) for the win ,mr trebeck....yessir!
I was only about 13 when this came out. Along with HR, puffensruff.
The blonde girl is a cutie and I had a little crush on her back then.
i can now understand why this show was cancelled.
Dang. I used to love some really corny tv shows.
Are all Sid and Marty Kroft productions for people who are stoned?
Yep, pretty much. Even as a kid I knew their productions were goofy.
Haaaa this episode reminded me of the movie "Half baked"
Yup
How did Wonderbug wind up on the Donny & Marie show?😂😂😂😂😂
Remember the visit to the Dodgers game!
How much of a black stereotype do you want?
Answer: Yes
does it get any better than these SMK shows in the early to mid 70s?
And we never noticed they wore the same clothes in every episode. 🤔
Starring John-Anthony Bailey a.k.a. Jack Baker a.k.a. 'Sticks' from "Happy Days" a.k.a. future porno star! 😆
9:57 Marty Allen! He couldn't go anywhere without saying "Hello dere"
Before i go much further we the Kroft super show
First started you had three shows Wonderburg
Dr shrinker ( jay Robinson Billy Barty) then
Electra woman and Dtna girl it was great before they turned it into bay city ROLLARS excitement
Are there any more Wonder Bug episodes?
"Any of you guys see the hidden camera?" (4:56-4:57)
The Black dude stared in a few x rated films.
From like 1984 onward.
11:40
Hello dere.
Wonderbug was a total ripoff of the speed buggy cartoon that ran from 1973 to 1983👍
I mean both took heavy inspiration from the love bug and Hanna barbera aren’t exactly creative themselves either
20+ year olds who look 30 playing teenagers. Awful.
0:47 11:40
A horrible take off Herbie the Love bug. Don't bother with this show.
?Marty Ingels as the Indian chief?
[moments later, while reading the credits] yyyep.
filmed in The Burbank Studios/Warner Bros.?
i thinnnk so.
