Great tip, Chris! Loving tech Mondays so far!
Nice start to, hopefully, an ongoing and well received addition to this channel. Thanks, Chris. Mondays have become something to look forward to,
I had no idea "Preview" could do that :)) thank you for a really useful tip and demo.
Same here ! Thank you Pal2Tech :D
Viewing and managing image files is just one of the reasons why I switched to Mac 14 years ago. Back then Windows was truly hopeless in many ways but it’s caught up a lot since then. Preview is a surprisingly powerful tool built into Macs. Even just merging and managing multiple PDF documents is a simple task that I don’t thing Windows can still do yet without an extra app (maybe Windows does now but didn’t last time I checked). Oh, and my old MacBook Pro from 2008 still runs just fine with an SSD update. One of my kids still uses it as his school laptop and he does creative work on it with Photoshop and iMovie.
Photoshop extended has an animation timeline that you can do miracles with.
I tried reviewing some raw photos from my girlfriends windows laptop it was hopeless to find a way to do that... hahaha I gave up surching for an app to help me with this after 5/10 minutes of searching right now I am doing the task that teaches me from this video in under 5 minutes of searching in youtube how to do it to actually doing it. just buy mac guys..🤣
Great tip Chris - thanks for Tech Monday!
Thank you so much for your videos!! You helped me a lot! A few month ago I was watching your videos about the FUJI Cameras using as a webcam. I´ve build my streaming room with your help! And today I found this video!!! Thank you and keep on going and inspiring!!
Im literally subscribing right now because of this amazingly helpful video. Thanks, you helped me tremendously
From 2;15 in your video I couldn't even find a window on my iPad like this. And I couldn't find Preview after I did open the photos on my iPad. Finally, you ran through this so fast without explaining where these windows are, because you've done it a hundred times and it's easy for you.
Thanks for the tip! I realized halfway through the video that I already use this technique with HEIC files from my iPhone when I airdrop pictures from there to edit them. Super handy! :)
I love this kind of tips!! Useful and easy to follow! Thanks!!
Haven’t really looked at Preview for anything so thanks for the tip I will use this when I need to downsize individual images e.g. headshots/product shots for conference virtual booths which often require very small files
Great quick way of converting these photos, thanks !
Fantastic help, thank you!
Thank you for this, you just saved me so much time and headaches with updating our website!!!

Very helpful. Thanks for sharing 👍
What a relief....Thanks a lot.
thank you so much. You were clear and easy to follow for an older person - 77- :). however, some of the words were different than what you said and showed. Maybe it depends on the year of the Mac. But I did it! Wrote it down to save it for the future!! Yay!!
Thank you so much you just saved my time and storage. ❤
Life saver, thank you!
This was very helpful! Thanks! mine I had to do one image at a time, that was the only way my computer would ask what format to change it to jpeg! 👍🏻
Thank you so much! Big help.
Oh My, Thank you, thank you, thank you, This is so wonderful I have so many photos in the Raw format. Now this is such a BIG HELP. Thank you again. This is now 02/14/2024
There's another type of image conversion that I do often on my Mac. I convert downloaded WebP files (for example, from the New York Times) to JPEG. I found a free app on the App Store called "WebP Converter - AnyWebP" that allows me to do this quickly. To make it work, I used the Mac's "Get Info" command on a WebP file to select the default app for opening the file to "WebP Converter," making sure to also click the "Change all" option so that every WebP file would open the same way. Then I am able to double-click on any WebP file and see a conversion window pop up. There are several options in the converter window, such as compression level. I use the same settings for all of these conversions. The app remembers what I set, so I just need to click the "Convert" button. The result comes immediately.
MAN, YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!!!
Great tip! Thank you.
Learn something new thanks for sharing
Great tip - boom! Thank you!
Fist i love your videos. Every time i learn something new. On Mac i think there is a faster way to convert them. Again highlight few or all photos on your folder , click on outside mouse (right) goto quick actions menu than choose convert files . Very fast and simple.
Thank you so much ! you saved me so much head ache

good help!
U da Man Chris 👍
thanks it worked
You the legend! OMG
You can create an Automator script (absolutely easy) that will do the same without even opening the preview app.
Can someone tell me why my "Convert Image" button in my right-click isn't working?! Same goes for "Create PDF" and "Remove Background"!
I’m in the same situation
Did you find out?
@@daniellara3014
No, I might just make an Apple appointment.
thanks a lot your great
I'm second :))) İt was really helpfull video. Thanks.
Thanks Haldun!!!! 🙏
On windows I take it for granted however ironically you need a HeVc codec to view high efficiency videos or images .
To get around this I just open them in gimp which is open source and free. I could buy the Microsoft plug-in I guess.
Png is also a good format for Web images as they support transparency. Which in turn allows you to layer or add Web effects to the design of your page. Useful for partially preventing image theft .
That's another topic for some other day.
Lifesaver
Thanks
Does the conversion keep whatever color space the original files were in (sRGB, Adobe 1998)? And does it keep the same long edge dimension?
How about Nef files from a Z8? I tried your suggestion but I couldn’t make it work. Thanks for putting out great content
thank you very matche
This saves me money. And hassle.
Well, until I start wanting to print these huge tiffs I'll get from Raw files...
Danke!
Thank you so much Manfred!!! I really appreciate the support my friend!!! 🙏 🙏
