    I love it how you create a naturalistic background for a spotted python!

    In the us its just called flex mortar. Cement with additives for some flexibility.

      I’m thinking I will do a breakdown of my animals. My collection isn’t massive but there’s 7 enclosures. Being a small collection I can show more of how I’m keeping each etc

      I did my own one back at the start of the year when I first started building but it’s not to the standard I have now so maybe one day I’ll re do it. I only got the roughie very recently.

    Looks awesome!
    You can get a fine splatter effect with the airbrush. Move the needle backwards and forwards a few times with the trigger, then aim and give it a blast of air :)

      I have done this accidentally quite a few times haha. Didn’t think to use that on the walls. Thanks for the tip

    What is the product that you use to paint on the foam that hardens? Im in america was hoping to find something similar so I can start my pythons terrarium! Thanks in advance. Also you have amazing content man! Keep it up!

    • @Cambart1
      @Cambart1  2 года назад +2

      I still haven’t heard back from anyone who was looking into it in the US so unfortunately I can’t help you there yet. The US based builds I’ve seen mostly use Dryloc which we can’t get here in Australia. If you find something that works well please let me know because I get a lot of people asking.
      Thanks mate

      @@Cambart1 fair enough man. It seems like it's similar to what we call stucco over here. I'll look into dryloc. Thanks for all of your help! Can't wait to see more builds!

    • @Cambart1
      @Cambart1  2 года назад +2

      From what I can gather stucco would be the same as what we call render. It’s a cement coating used over brickwork etc. if that’s right it is similar but the product I use of a lot more flexible yet solid to touch. Far less brittle.

    • @cody2097
      @cody2097 3 месяца назад

      It's flexible mortar. Available in lots of different names and brands.

    Do spotted pythons thrive in 50 gallon terrariums like 36"x18"x18"?

    • @Cambart1
      @Cambart1  5 месяцев назад

      This size that I built in I’d say is the minimum and most common requirement for this species of snake. It’s a 900x600x450

    Hey Cam, I wanted to ask you a question,
    If I make a foam background with foam ledges under hot spots for a bearded dragon will it hold the animals weight and the heat over time or will I need to use a different material as a ledge and basking spot?

    • @Cambart1
      @Cambart1  2 года назад +1

      Hey mate. As long as the basking spot isn’t heaps close and the surface temp doesn’t exceed like 45-50 degrees Celsius it will be fine. As for weight on ledges, a foam ledge of about 250mm out off the back wall will be strong enough as long as you have other foam at least supporting it a little as in not just a 250x50xwhatever length just hanging in the breeze or just glued on. You’ll see what I mean as you’re building and judge from their.

  • @poot-poot

    Can a green foam ledge support the weight of a fully grown female Ball Python?

    • @Cambart1
      @Cambart1  2 года назад +1

      I’m not sure sorry. I don’t know the size or weight of ball pythons. If it in built with supports and glued in generally you can do a 250mm ledge and it’s fine. But can’t be certain due to not knowing about the ball pythons.

      @@Cambart1 Thank you, I'll make sure to properly support any ledges I'm building

    I have pet rats and would love to do something like this for them. How would you make it rat safe and chew proof? Would the materials you use work?

    • @Cambart1
      @Cambart1  2 года назад

      I’m not sure to be honest. Rats and mice can chew through basically anything so I doubt the products I use would hold up if they decided to burrow into it. Im sorry but they are out of my knowledge as to what’s safe for them.

  • @spiderj379
    @spiderj379 2 года назад +1

    I'd love to have someone build that for me but the quotes people come up with are far too expensive, which is a shame.

    • @Cambart1
      @Cambart1  2 года назад +2

      Yes these specialty type of work do carry a decent price tag but when you consider the time that goes into them it’s understandable.
