Hey loved the video, how can you use the facede elements in a project, can you please do a part 3 video maybe integrating the elements into a project? Maybe also with dynamo? Your videos are great! I'm learning so much from them😃👍
These are the ONLY Revit tutorials I watch! I have literally fallen down a hole of watching them & have learned more from watching your videos then I have in Revit classes I have taken at school. Best videos ever!!!!!!!!
he is basically using tutorials from other people and repeating them, not giving any credit to the originators, worst kind of content creator out there. And to top it, he doesnt even understand what he is doing, only copies the steps he saw in the original video, you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/mqpWpcDvt7A/видео.html
U can 1- create a Curtain Panel Pattern Based family and 2- make a single line and create a form from it as a wall 3-then subdivide it use your model as the subdivide pattern then enjoy with it
I noticed that the issue comes from a step in the last tutorial. At 16:14, he begins to set the "Show reference plane" to "Always". After this, he begins to check a series of boxes. He checks "Visible" and unchecks "Hidden by Hosts". Unchecking "Hidden by Hosts" causes the error message to occur for me. I went back and left that box checked and it allowed me to complete the rest of the tutorial without the error message. Hopes this helps!
Good Point! i noticed that too, but even after I fixed it the panel family is still not working properly on a vertical curtain wall, it could only be applied on a horizontal plane. Will keep digging tomorrow. Let me know if you have any idea.
Great tutorial. Just a tip - the sped up clip at the end was far too fast. It may aswell not be there cause even at 0.25 speed its too fast to follow. Thanks for the upload!
Hi, I was trying to do this lesson step by step put i got a massage that says "faild to apply family parameters" while i was trying to applay the parameteric family at 5:54 from the video... and i have no idea what is the problem... And thank you for thoes videos they can be so helpful.. .
This tutorial seems to work when we are not following each step. Specifically for a beginner. I followed each step. But always an error occur "Failed to apply family parameter" when applying formula to Lh at 3:48 . I noticed the video clips were edited at some specific points where I encountered the error at 5:44 etc. It would be great if you could help with these errors. Thank you for these tutorials.
Make sure all the parameters with formulas are instance parameters and not type parameters. Also, you may want to check the brackets within the formulas. Hope it helps resolve some issues :)
Is this a complete video. After completing all the process in 2nd part, I still was not able to insert this mass Into my project. How to import and use this. Pls provide useful information
When you copy a tutorial (originally dates back to 2014 @ UNC) and use touched up resources from the original author...you ought to give credit to that author!!! That is called ethics
This comment deserves more likes. You can tell he’s copying someone else work by the pace and hesitation in the video. He didn’t even explain what the many formulas do.
@@thobanimqadibecause of his likes, the original author of this tutorial removed an amazing 2 years rich curriculum of advanced Revit and visual programming
Thank you for the wonderful video with so nice explanations..Can you please say how to use this in a project please? Where are we supposed to load this?
hello.. I love every single video you make. They are great and has helped me a lot.. I just ran into a problem in Revit 2019.. and the solution is urgent.. I cannot generate energy analysis report in Revit 2019, as the Insight feature is added which is great but I need that report for my school work. So, please help me out..
The tutorial was a great one. Being a BIM Architect, I would like to ask you if the same can be added to the building false structure (by massing) and then it's action can change with help of any shadow analysis tool in revit or any parameter that gives us a number to make it associate with family we have. Please comment if it's any way possible even if Dynamo can be used to do the same
This is cool...but how do you actually mount this? how does it look finished? ... doesnt that centre point need an actual physical mast and lines to run on...i am a bit lost
Verify the formula you used. All sides of the triangular panel should always be constant whatever the value you will use for NCP. The longer leg of the panel must be equal to 1/2 of the base (2.5) all the times. In order to do so, the vertex at the right angle (of the panel) should move both horizontally and vertically.
Man is great stuff i created the patern withoput parameters so i cannot rescale it. becouse of this error i keep getting" failed to apply family parametrs" very annoying btw. SO all in all i cannot scale the pattern which i can live with , only i would like to know how to put this pattern in a panel and eventually on a wall.
Hi, can I do an animation on the opening and closing of the panel ? Can it be done in Revit ? Still a beginner in Revit. Please advice as Im doing some similar panels of sun shading for my studio project this semester. Thanks
Hello Balkan Architect. Very nice but you did the same mistake as Jeremy Roh 2 years before. Your triagnle doesn't stays the same. Check the base length and you will see. Or make an origami version (or check carefuly the image of the real building) of the panel and you will see that there are points that goes beneath the plane
I noticed that the issue comes from a step in the last tutorial. At 16:14, he begins to set the "Show reference plane" to "Always". After this, he begins to check a series of boxes. natalia nat i believe that the next step will be loading this family in the original conceptual mass one and then choose this family as the pattern instead of the flat triangle pattern then every single pattern will be this parametric family
7min...when i change NCP..the llength changes, and if i go over a set amount, say 0.5 it flips sides? where did i go wrong? also mine was never the same distance from base line as yours....does that matter? ididnt think it would.

there is an error whenever I try to apply the pA_NCP family parameters. any help?
I had the same error, did you find the fix?
Yes me too. :( Cant find the solution I repeat it 3 times already from the start. :(
Are you doing a fallow up to drive the panels using solar angle calculations?
Not able to apply after pA_NCP, Getting error failed to apply family parameters. Help please
Hi, had da same trouble but I resolved it by solving it manually without the formula.
Or u could try sqrt((h^2)-(lh^2)) instead of
Sqrt((h^2-(lh^2))
Hi, can I do an animation on the opening and closing of the panel ? Can it be done in Revit ? Still a beginner in Revit. Please advice as Im doing some similar panels of sun shading for my studio project this semester. Thanks
As far as i am aware, to animate you will need a plug in such as Dynamo etc
Part 3 !?
Hi please the formulae after pA_NCP happens to not apply
Its saying failed to apply parameters
Are they tutorials on how to do parametric designs from beginners level
couldn't get the hR_NCP to work. I get an error with the function hR_base/hR

could u explain more about the formula u're using

figured it out...i never used the small ref line, so it assumes 1 is the top of the main reference line before divided. fuck
if you did the same, just select new host for the point, and make sure to reselect measure from end.
u had better make complete video how to apply into project...
Commands using to fast and why ur using formulas could u pls explain slowly and which formula using for which parameter

I don't know why it's keeps saying 'failed to apply family parameters' .I try to follow every steps but still not working.
The same problem is occurring.... Did you find any solution?
Can this be done any faster in Dynamo?
Can we make the model without doing all of these formulas..?
I did not find the file where i can get it?
Why pA=sqrt((h^2)-(Lh^2)) ?
it say here "failed to apply family parameter" after i press apply and ok
It said the same for me and I don't know where I went wrong. I even started again and it still didn't work.
hi when i input the h*(1-NCP) and then apply the error appeared to the screen it says" failed to apply family parameter" how should i fix this?
i have the same problem 😢😢
Same issue with me too.
Can i have this revit family?
🙏tell me any other software where I can make it easily, it took almost 26 minutes!!
