Spider-Man 2 [PC] - Any% Speedrun

- Another speedrun with some cool skips I discovered. Here are some:
17:59 Press and hold space when you're on the wall to do first person view so you can defuse bombs fast which saves some time.
27:26 Stand above the turret and find the spot where you must disable it. This is pretty useful alternative if meteors always explode when you throw them because of glitch.
31:05 I fell on purpose because I was trying to go at Mysterio and he's going backwards, (to prevent me from attacking him) and it makes him to run away and trigger the moving platforms earlier without waiting too long.
36:41 Finding a way to get out of this room and prevent the cutscene to appear which is a huge time saver.
Also in this speedrun,there are some missing objects if "world details" (in the options menu) are set to low.You'll see that some objects will disappear and it will make everything foggy if you're far away from somewhere.
There are some minor mistakes here but it's fine. I think sub 38 is possible.
I'd like to thank William Barrows,Andrew Shaw and mrkerekespeter for their ideas to make this game even easier to finish.
Timing starts after clicking "Start New Game", and ends when closing the final "Mission Complete" dialogue.

i did, a few thousand times, i just replayed it now and beat it, when i was little i tought you had to beat everyone up so you get to the next stage, but most of the time you could just run trough

I like it too. And I am really glad to see, that someone else like that game, cause almost all say, that game sucks.
they say it sucks Because gameplay is not that fun and mechanics are pretty bad the way the swinging thing is so lame and unnecessary and you are fighting same enemies Everytime and bosses are too easy and you can only do actions when the action name appears

The space background for fight with Mysterio was fucking awesome. In my childhood, it used to scare me a bit.
Also it was the toughest fight for me. Always lost to him, until I got an improved PC.

Does anyone here know how to get to that glitch mini-level at the start of the bank robbery level? You know, the one where the vans are about to drive up to the bank and there are like 4 guys on top of the building that you can fight? I got to it once but I don't know how.

Neki Srbin kad crackuje igricu onda prosiri po Srbiji, vise se proslavi igrica kod nas nego kod stranaca. Isto i sa ono Santa Clause in Trouble. Vidim speedrun, udjem u klip kad ono Srbin preso ahaha. Pozdrav brate sve najbolje!

After seeing this, i think that if i were more dedicated, maybe i could be an speedrunner bc i saw the same executions that i did as a kid bc i played the game so many times(an also to became more popular for my classmates bc in that way i recieved more attention from them by asking me how to beat this part), but still a good speedrun
Also the Mysterio lvl gave me a "trauma" where if i see something giant like the moon or a planet i would be terrified (now that i recognize where the "trauma" began i feel a little bit better)
Mysterio bossfight at the beginning is stupid. These meteors are so glitchy and I was so lucky I beat him flawlessly.

IT JUST OCCURRED TO ME that Puma's voice is the same actor - Dee Bradley Baker - that did many characters in Spider-Man 2000, he sounds almost exactly like Lizard.

Very nice run. Have you ever collected all the exotic spiders or/and the prison escapers? If you have, do you get awarded from it other than getting just points? I might try that next

After I had finished recording, I added the timer.

It's called the timer.
I used it in Sony Vegas.
Why is the render distance so low tho? And how did you finish it despite that?!
It's an advantage.
I memorized the whole level design and set the render distance to low because many obstacles will disappear and it will be easier to play the game.

I found a glitch for this game where in the puma fight in the crystal tower if you can somehow stop puma from going up after he throws shuriken things for the first time, he immediately starts fighting you down in the building instead
Well, that's what I did in this speedrun.
@@jackturner-bogdanzivojinov1385 well evertime i did he would just fight me down in there 14:32. The gap you just jumped. Also did you notice if you do that you can play the mission again in free play? And after that you can kinda choose from your own missions?
@@a.i.nighthawk3499 Yes, I knew about that but it was unfinished.
For example, if you want to play Bank Robbery again, you can't because the cutscenes are missing and they can't trigger the mission you want to play. Like I said, it's unfinished.

This is different Spiderman 2 game and it's for PC exclusively. It's worse than the console versions.

I think we shouldn't do the attack-animation-skip thing before the Rhino part.
If you're thinking on that glitch you showed in the video well nope. It just randomely happened,nobody was attacking me on that time,it just have happened but luckily, Rhino kicked me out and finished the bossfight on time

What's up with the blue fog in your game?
I reduced the quality of the game in the options menu. Therefore some obstacles will disappear and simplify the game which is easier for speedrunning.

Long shot but does anyone have any idea why older PC games sometimes looked worse in a way compared to consoles?
I don't know if it's moreso just the licensed games or something but the version differences are staggering compared to the PS2/Xbox versions.
Crazy fog, different plot, I swear some textures look a little flatter in places, mechanics are different.
Quite bizarre and it happened quite a bit back in the PS2 era.
That fog you see in this speedrun is actually an advantage. I set the world and texture detail to low so some obstacles could disappear, making it easier to speedrun.
@@jackturner-bogdanzivojinov1385 Oooh that actually makes a lot of sense. Licensed games back then had limited PC settings at times from what I played so didn't cross my mind.

Is this game PC exclusive or what? I remember playing it as a kid on PC but I had to google really hard to find it today. Only different Spiderman games come up. Why is this game in the series so rare?
Because this game on PC is bad,got a critical bad reception and that's why PS2/XBOX/Gamecube Spider-Man 2 is better and more popular.
It was just really strange to me that even if I googled "Spider man 2 game" this wouldn't really come up in the results.
Like I said. This game isn't good but I love it. I have played it since 2006 and I still play it (only when I'm bored and don't have to do anything)
Thinking about it, it's sad this game had such a bad reception. It's polished, I never ran into any glitches. The combat system was fun and I really enjoyed the zipping mechanic. The graphics were decent too for the time.
My only complaint is that the swinging mechanics were rather dumb with all the fixed webs in the air.
I am also thinking about glitch montage in this game when I find enough glitches but I'm too lazy now... X(

Nah spiderman gave you the option to swing whenever, in this game you swing when the game wants you to swing.
