Your lawn is looking great! I enjoy your analysis and common sense when it comes to lawn care. My goal is to have a front yard that looks like yours. Looking forward to next year already.
Aviano Lawn Care here in Italy 🇮🇹. I like going just about 1/2 inch shorter than normal, a small shot of liquid iron and potassium. My lawn will look good all winter.
Thanks for all the advice this year, your channel is 🔥. For me, the best part of fall/winter fertilizer is looking back on the lawn journal I kept and seeing what work or didn't, and planning for next year.
Great content! I've just been going through getting a final edging done before winter and mowing lower. I applied my last round of fertilizer early October, hoping that will hold me over through winter.
I live in Texas and during the summertime I have a Bermuda grass lawn which is pretty nice. However in the beginning of November I convert my Bermuda lawn to a Ryegrass lawn. I’ve done this for two years now and it’s amazing that during the winter time, while my neighbors lawns are brown mine is the only green lawn in the neighborhood. I love lawn care.
Hi Joe, I too live in TX, and have Bermuda, it has taken me 3 season of experimenting and watching this channel and others to get it weed free, GREEN, and short. Not to brag or anything but my goal was to make my lawn the best looking in the block. i have succeeded. I have been thinking about over seeding with Rye-grass but i am afraid it will ruin my Bermuda. When the Winter is over, does the Rye died out on its own? does Bermuda (being an alpha grass) take over the Rye as the weather warms up?
I like to lay down on the lawn after giving it a good cut at the end of the season and talk about all the good times we had. The ups and the downs we went through as I gently run my fingers through the blades of grass. My neighbors look at me oddly for some reason though.
I put down new sod the first week of October so I fertilized with triple 12 at half the recommended rate. I’m happy I did. Between the fertilizer and ton of rain we got I couldn’t keep up cutting the lawn it grew so fast.
Thanks for all the lawn tips. We moved into this house two years ago and the lawn was in rough shape(in my opinion), but after following your tips, it is looking much better this year.
George, I just bought a new home in September, moved in October 1st. Before I found your channel I had ordered a brand new Honda HRX217. But ever since watching your videos, I ended up getting an affordable little reel mower and have not even opened the Honda 😂. I get some looks from neighbors and passing cars. But my lawn is one of the best looking lawns on the block! I’m still glad I purchased the Honda. It may be a collectible in a few years!
Haha that’s awesome to hear! I still have an hrx 217 and it def has a place in the garage. It comes in handy for a lot of things:) But there’s nothing like that reel cut!
As always, thanks for the tips George! My bottle of Speedzone actually just got delivered last week. Gonna wait til the trick or treaters are gone before applying. Do you think it would be helpful at all to apply Tenacity now as well? I live in Ohio. I have one last round of fertilizer to drop then the only lawncare this winter I will be doing is buying more goodies.
The steps I take are to aerate and fertilize the lawn as autumn starts, and then trim the lawn fairly low once the average low temperatures fall into the mid-40s and the visible growth has slowed considerably down. Thank you for your videos which help me fine tune my lawn care decisions!
About a month ago I aerated the lawn really well and over seeded, then mother nature took care of the rest. It rained every day for the next 10 days and man is my lawn standing tall right now! Looks like I need to apply a bit of fertilizer and spray some broadleafs and call it a season. Thanks for all the tips and info for a beautiful lawn! And happy early birthday!!🎉🎉🥳
Detaching aeration overseeding top dressing Pete moss starter ferterlizer n lime tenacity. finally the last fall/winter ferterlizer application love your videos bro thank you 😊 🙏
Some of the better music choices in the lawn community! Usually hit it with some lime and potassium as needed and based on a soil test to get through the winter months. Thanks for the content.
What I like to do to winterize is apply the heavy granular which was 3 weeks back here in VA and once every other week spoon feed via quick release. I did a entire lawn reno started Aug killed off all grass and in late September apply a great quality seed. So far it’s amazing and I only have a few bare spots due to trees falling and debris being under the soil. I’ll fix that during the spring along with any lingering weeds. Grass is only over a month old and it looks amazing and used some of your tips and tricks thanks so much!
@@PrincessCutLawnCare tall fescue three high end varieties from newsome seed out of Maryland very very great seed. Glad I took the time out and we just got our first frost but soil temperature are still a steady 55 degrees or higher.
George, thanks for all the tips and techniques. I am a first-time homeowner, and really take caring for my lawn seriously. Your videos help me out so much. Very grateful. Happy Birthday on Sunday! Enjoy your family and friends.
I live down here south (Texas) with St Augustine. My fall / winter prep is mostly a high potash fertilizer, pre emergent, and some humic / kelp. Ground rarely freezes here so I irrigate like every 2 weeks during winter.
I've never done any real winterizing of my lawn before. Watching your channel to help me out. Just re-did a lot of my back yard (adding 14 yards of dirt). Want to make sure the time and money doesn't go to waste so thanks for all the info you provide! You do an awesome job!
I’m still tinkering with my winter plan, I overseeded and fertilized near the end of sept. Now I need to get one more app of fertilizer down and give it a final cut and then a leaf cleanup.
Thanks George. Got my grass 100% better than last year, so doing weekly light N+K granular until my frost date and keeping the leaves mulched and clean.
My soil test this August showed high PH so I am applying Ammonium Sulfate 21-0-0 (putting down .5 lb of nitrogen per 1000 sq feet every 2 weeks) so giving it a shot of nitrogen and, hopefully, lowering ph at the same time. Have put down twice this fall and may put down 1 more time depending on weather here in Ohio. Love watching your videos George!
I used the 18-0-1 GreenePunch as a winterizer last season and I think it worked great. I'll be doing that again this year. Well done George. Great tips. 👊🏼
Started early Sept. With the spoon feed method on fertilizer. Started at 1lb per 1000. Have just applied my last dose at a 1/4 pound. Yard still looks amazing. Treating this week for my last of my weeds
I added 1lb per 1k sq ft of 24-0-0 urea nitrogen 2 weeks apart. This is a new lawn this year so I'm holding off on any Pre-emergents. I do have some creeping Charlie rearing it's ugly head but I'll going to take care of it next fall once the lawn is more established. Love the channel! Nice work!
I did my first winterizer app last fall and my spring lawn was AMAZING. I was shocked at how much it helped. I also try to mulch my leaves as much as I can to get that organic material in the lawn.
Hi George, to prep for winter here in Northeast PA, I apply Tenacity to weedy and crab grass areas on my tall fescue lawn, then followed with a second application three weeks later. I aerated, then followed up with Lesco Stonewall Crab Grass Pre-Emergent 0-0-7 with 0.68 Prodiamine. I am also getting ready to put down Milorganite. I have a small area near my pool which gets little light so I am going to put down some lime to tackle the spots of moss that come up each year. I have a bunch of Larch Pine trees that border my back snd side yards and the little one-inch needles go everywhere. I will be running my riding mower to try and suck up as much of the needles as possible and will add some more lime towards the end of November. Keep up the good work
This will be my first year preparing for winter, been loving beautifying my lawn. I dethatched and over seeded in September and my lawn looks awesome. I put down high nitrogen fertilizer in early October and I throw down another dose 6 weeks later in November. Already looking forward to next spring!
I'm a number just started last year and I just did the every season fert..and lawn started off great thus year..did over seed with tttf end of sept...I have the greenest lawn on my block..just gonna throw some 22-0-10 down as close to winter as I can since soil Temps keep going up and down here in Mid Mo.
My favorite winter practice is cutting low. The ground stay warmer long and the grass appears to hold color longer into the season. It also makes for less dead material to cleanup come springtime. I hope the lawn striping kit finds a nice home.
I usually keep the leaves mowed up and cut the grass one hole up on my manual reel mower. I have a Bermuda grass lawn that I normally keep at a tick under 1” but cut at 1.25” for winter. Seems to be the opposite of what you recommend but maybe my southern lawn is different. I also put down Barricade. First time using a pre-emergent. 🤞🏼 I sure love your Allett. What a great cut and stripes on your yard!
George: your videos set really me on the right path. After this recent nitrogen blast my Buffalo yard is ridiculously thick and stand-out green. The contrast with the neighbors is so marked I feel bad for them ( I have nice neighbors). Setting up for the last mow at about 2 inches, had a service so the herbicide, and now I get to sit and wait for Spring. Keep the good work up!
Great job this season, George. I usually cut it down low, which I've already been doing for the last 2-3 weeks. Then I'll throw down some dithiopyr as a the weed killer in the fall and a preventative in the spring (though I don't have weeds). Then I'll hit with some fertilizer. Nothing crazy. I could use liquid or granular. I think the theory behind dropping down a pound of fertilizer per 1,000 square feet in the fall is that the lawn will use some of the fertilizer now and the rest will be used to help a "spring up" in the spring.
Very helpful, thank you! This is my first year in lawn care, and I did a lot of, uh, learning this first year. Here in warm season territory, I grew some bare spots in my brand new St. Augustine by using too much fast-acting N in the summer, and tried to fix it by applying... more fast-acting N. And of course, overusing herbicides. Live and learn. Winterizing plan is hand-picking as much as I can so I don't stress my baby out further, some Prodiamine as pre-emergent, and fertilizing with high K to keep the roots strong until I can give it a proper nursing back to health in spring.
This is my first year doing more than just using weed and feed spray from big box store. Moved in to new construction and had SOD (Fescue) put in. Thanks for all the tips for a better yard!
Its looking good, summer was dry in midwest so manual water sucked. Installed irrigation in late August and fixed most dead areas. It looks good but will take another year to get it filled in and get rid of sod lines.
This year I said was my last hurrah at trying to get my lawn back and by watching your videos has definitely worked. I have 2 small kids and wanted a lawn that they can play on. I am doing like you suggested, mowing low, I just did my weed control and winterizer fertilizer. Having that striping kit would be awesome! Thanks for the help either way.
I use a tow behind lawn vac and use it mid October through early December. I use it only to mulch leaves which I use to make leaf mold and compost. Some gets used in the garden and some (compost) gets used next fall on the lawn. I use a lime fertilizer mix 1st week of November (NY here) and might put down dimension or Prodiamine mid November. Thanks for your vids. I wish my lawn was flat enough to use a mower like yours.
I love watching your videos. I honestly have never cut low prior to the winter. I am going to give it a whirl this year for sure! Keep up the great content.
Second year really putting in a good effort to make the lawn standout. This year I dethatched, aerated, overseeded and fertilized. Been trying to keep the leaves off and was going to deal with the weeds popping up in spring, but after the video sounds like a good idea to knock them out now. Would enjoy a new roller DIYed one myself this year, but definitely looking in to a new one next year. Keep up the good work.
@@PrincessCutLawnCare was called Athletic: 25% Gateway Kentucky Bluegrass 25% Rockstar Kentucky Bluegrass 25% Accent II Perennial Ryegrass 25% Top Gun II Perennial Ryegrass from a local sod farm in my town, I actually get all my Fertilizer from them also. However next year may try some Simple lawn solution Fertilizers
This year I aerated and over seeded, put down some 13-13-13 fertilizer at seeding. Watered and let it go for about four weeks. Mowed it high and put down more 13-13-13 along with some granular pre-emergent and Propiconazole . Need another mow to get it down a bit shorter before the cold hits. That stripe kit would be sweet on my recycler. 😎
I have followed your channel since being a new home owner. For my fall prep I am planning to apply the fast releasing fertilizer, treat weeds and do a last short cut 🤙🏼
I'm new to really paying attention to the lawn beyond cutting and weed killer. Been paying attention here and strengthening the lawn. Your content and points living in the area makes your input more valuable. I've gotten speedzone and will be cutting short this year!
I'm new to the lawn game and love the cool season lawn videos. I've been doing .25 lbs of nitrogen every 10-14 days and wow my lawn looks great. I'm excited to see what it will look like in the spring.
Great Video like always. Coming up to winter I like to cut a little shorter to prevent matting under the snow. Then I give a little extra boost of fertilizer with whatever I've got left over from the rest of the season. One of the most important things I do is keep the leaves off the grass by either mowing and bagging them or blowing them off the grass.
Before winter hits, I like to aerate the lawn and oversees to strengthen the lawn and fill in any patches. About a month after the seed was given a chance to grown, I mow the lawn down to 2” and spread winter guard weed and seed to give the lawn nutrients and weaken the weeds enough from growing in the spring.
Still have weather between 65 to 70 here in texas . So I will do a lite granular covering still have a month or so before it gets a little lower in temp and I'm still ✂️ the burmuda with rotary lawn mower hopefully soon I can up it.
Thanks for all your advice this year, George! My lawn has never looked better. After aerating & overseeing 3 weeks ago, I have applied 2 micro-applications of starter fertilizer, been mulching the leaves every 4 days, and taken grass height from 3 to 2 inches. BTW...1st season using Speedzone/Tenacity herbicide "cocktail" 🍸...great advice, pal!! Got rid of so many weeds, which has created a great growing environment for my grass.
I usually mow pretty close to shut the season down. It still grows, just very slowly. I have put down end of season fert before, but I didn't do it this year. Maybe I will try to put it down before the next season really rev's up into high gear. Perhaps in March, when I get the itch to get back at it, but that depends on how cold it is, and also if there is any snow/snowmold. Thanks George for another great video.
I just sowed a kbg lawn 2 weeks ago in West Virginia, I’m trying to get all the root growth that I can to get past sprout and pout before the first frost.
First year I’ve managed to have a decent amount of grass. Trees and shade being hard to overcome but this year due to a lot of attention I’ve managed to get grass to grow. Hence, I will be applying one last coat of fertilizer likely tomorrow. Weeds are pretty much under control, so I’m hopeful for even a better yard come spring. Just to mention all season I’ve been applying iron, root growth stimulates, weed control, fertilizer and lots of water.
@@PrincessCutLawnCare shade seeds were a variety of vendors shade blends but the last batch was Scott’s dense shade. I am concerned because the blades of grass are not becoming thick as most my other grass given the same amount of time each blade looks thin. I am hoping that come the next growing season, I can keep nursing these little fellas so that their roots get well enough established before the summer heat. On this side of my home that I have problems is likely due to it never gets direct sunlight and two large maple and one large magnolia tree I believe are robbing the soil of nutrients. This last year was me providing lot of micro dosing to this side lawn with everything I could throw down. Aeration, liquid aeration, everything thing good for root development, high nitrogen fertilizer fast and slow release, iron etc. Many tips came from the “Lawn Nut” and others. I feel like I got that plot of grass going on life support. Most impressive was I did get grass to take hold around the trees in the front that does get some sun and most of the bare spots are gone. I just lowered the lawn mower one notch and there might be only two more cuts before the temperature fall for the winter. The last cut I will likely drop the lawn mower one more notch, maybe leaving about 2 1/2 inches maybe a little shorter. Hope being that if and when it snows it won’t get crushed. I need to proof what is the best length for grass during winter here in Maryland. But I would think two inches might be in the ballpark. Thanks for asking and any hints throw em this way.
New homeowner, with a newly planted yard. Don’t want put down anything on the baby grass before the winter because I already put down a pre emergent and starter fertilizer at planting. What I’m doing is just good old fashion hand pulling weeds and trying to get another cut in.
I've been spoon feeding my fescue lawn with the next system since the end of September. I've been alternating apps of microgreen and rgs...my lawn has never looked better. So pumped for next season!
👋 George! To winterize my lawn, I’m planning on one last round of fert (leftover starter fertilizer), one app of fungicide (starting to see some rust…it’s been pretty rainy), and last mow :( maybe a notch lower. Thanks for a great season! Your vids really helped turn my lawn around to be one of the best on the block.
@@PrincessCutLawnCare happy to support one of the good guys who’s looking out for us DIY-ers. Any thing on dock in terms of vids during the “off season”?
This was my first year getting into lawn care. I did a full kill in the spring, renovation (Midnight KBG and HGT turf) and all went well aside from a few bare spots. A second overseeding happened in fall and it came in nicely. Unfortunately I think I got hit by some fungus - caused a few patches in the lawn. We've had torrential rain and so I haven't had a chance to mow low yet but will be very soon. Thanks for the tips.
Its a great feeling when you just start out and see the results of your hard work! There will always be a few bumps in the road or i should say "lawn" but nothing we cant overcome, good luck!

Love your videos. You've helped me a lot in my lawn reno. As for what I do to prepare for winter, in early fall I put down an initial fertilizer and weed control to get my lawn thickened up. Mid fall I put down my pest control and fungicides to keep the lawn healthy. And in late fall I throw down the final treatment of Scotts weed and feed. I find that it is usually enough to get me through the winter and green up in the spring.
Good advice and I'll add one. I like to do one last lawn edging. This way when the snow comes my driveway and sidewalk still have nice clean lines after I shovel.
The last three years in the fall I found spoon feeding the lawn with a higher K fertilizer has been a game changer for me. Good, deep color going into dormancy and the first lawn to green up.
Great as always, George! I throw down a high N fert (mix of fast and slow release) late Sept and slowly start bringing down the height of cut. Then in Nov I’ll throw down the same fert. Lawn seems to “wake up” quicker in spring for me. Lawns are great because as long as you take care of them (there are so many ways to do this successfully) they will love you back. Take care brother!

Thanks for all the lawn tips. We moved into this house two years ago and the lawn was in rough shape(in my opinion), but after following your tips, it is looking much better this year.
So happy to hear! Thanks for sharing!
George, great video. I love to put down whatever fertilizer I have left over or buy the cheap east clearance product available.
thanks dude and nice choice! i really like the generic menards fertilizer, for the money cant beat it
George, I just bought a new home in September, moved in October 1st.
It comes in handy for a lot of things:)
But there’s nothing like that reel cut!
Another one… great tips as always!! I’ve never done heavy winterizer but come out of spring with a little more N for green up.
Thanks dude!
New lawn in front and just hit with 1lb N. .35 AMS .65 lbs N Urea. Threw whatever I had down on the back. Scott’s turf builder at bag rate.
Killer combo!
As always, thanks for the tips George! My bottle of Speedzone actually just got delivered last week. Gonna wait til the trick or treaters are gone before applying. Do you think it would be helpful at all to apply Tenacity now as well? I live in Ohio. I have one last round of fertilizer to drop then the only lawncare this winter I will be doing is buying more goodies.
thanks dude! no tenacity now only speedzone, tenacity only works well in the 70 to 80 degree range, good luck!
The steps I take are to aerate and fertilize the lawn as autumn starts, and then trim the lawn fairly low once the average low temperatures fall into the mid-40s and the visible growth has slowed considerably down. Thank you for your videos which help me fine tune my lawn care decisions!
No prob buddy! thanks for stopping by
About a month ago I aerated the lawn really well and over seeded, then mother nature took care of the rest. It rained every day for the next 10 days and man is my lawn standing tall right now! Looks like I need to apply a bit of fertilizer and spray some broadleafs and call it a season. Thanks for all the tips and info for a beautiful lawn! And happy early birthday!!🎉🎉🥳

I'm a newbie to lawn care, and I'm not gonna lie, I enjoy your videos.
Thank you counsel much appreciated!
Happy to hear your project went well! what seed did you use???
@@PrincessCutLawnCare tall fescue three high end varieties from newsome seed out of Maryland very very great seed. Glad I took the time out and we just got our first frost but soil temperature are still a steady 55 degrees or higher.
George, thanks for all the tips and techniques. I am a first-time homeowner, and really take caring for my lawn seriously. Your videos help me out so much. Very grateful. Happy Birthday on Sunday! Enjoy your family and friends.
Anytime bennet! Appreciate the birthday wishes!
And congrats on the new home 🎉
I live down here south (Texas) with St Augustine. My fall / winter prep is mostly a high potash fertilizer, pre emergent, and some humic / kelp. Ground rarely freezes here so I irrigate like every 2 weeks during winter.
I've never done any real winterizing of my lawn before. Watching your channel to help me out. Just re-did a lot of my back yard (adding 14 yards of dirt). Want to make sure the time and money doesn't go to waste so thanks for all the info you provide! You do an awesome job!
wow i know that was a big project!
and thank you my friend!
Thanks! and awesome to hear!
This is my first full year with the KBG lawn, overseeded and 12 12 12 now dropping mower one notch every few days to bring it down to 1 inch.
excellent!
Thanks joe means alot buddy!

Awesome plan!
Nice work!
Thanks bud!
Good video, I have been spoon feeding my lawn ½lb of N per 1000sqft to get it ready for winter.
same here 1/4lb per week
I did my first winterizer app last fall and my spring lawn was AMAZING. I was shocked at how much it helped. I also try to mulch my leaves as much as I can to get that organic material in the lawn.
great tip on the leaves, so many ppl leave them on the lawn in my neighborhood:(
You mulch it and leave it on the lawn right?
@@bobinmeister yeah. I just let my mower chew it up. Makes for easy leaf cleanup.
Keep up the good work
nice! what do you do to treat the moss?>?

This will be my first year preparing for winter, been loving beautifying my lawn. I dethatched and over seeded in September and my lawn looks awesome. I put down high nitrogen fertilizer in early October and I throw down another dose 6 weeks later in November. Already looking forward to next spring!
Awesome to hear! what did you overseed with???

@@CraigNAnderson oh nice I saw that on LCNs channel, looks super green!
Haha same here grass is still growing!
My favorite winter practice is cutting low. The ground stay warmer long and the grass appears to hold color longer into the season. It also makes for less dead material to cleanup come springtime. I hope the lawn striping kit finds a nice home.
I hope so too! good luck to you sir!
Nice! if snow is not an issue for you then mowing low is not so important
Thanks seeno! sounds like you have an excellent plan in place!
See ya next season bud!!
This is my first lawn so I’ve been following your advice and that’s what I’ll do before winter. 👍
Congrats on the home my friend!
@@PrincessCutLawnCare thank you for giving me the best lawn in the neighborhood.
First season with my lawn. Put down some winterizer a few weeks ago and plan to put down a micro-dose to finish off the season after a short cut.
Awesome plan jack!
Winterizing plan is hand-picking as much as I can so I don't stress my baby out further, some Prodiamine as pre-emergent, and fertilizing with high K to keep the roots strong until I can give it a proper nursing back to health in spring.
great tip on hand picking the weeds!
I do pretty much what you showed ,it's worked for me for years . But i have added the speedzone treatment this year.👍 Thank's
This is my first year doing more than just using weed and feed spray from big box store. Moved in to new construction and had SOD (Fescue) put in. Thanks for all the tips for a better yard!
Nice! How’s the sod coming along??
Its looking good, summer was dry in midwest so manual water sucked. Installed irrigation in late August and fixed most dead areas. It looks good but will take another year to get it filled in and get rid of sod lines.
This year I said was my last hurrah at trying to get my lawn back and by watching your videos has definitely worked. I have 2 small kids and wanted a lawn that they can play on. I am doing like you suggested, mowing low, I just did my weed control and winterizer fertilizer. Having that striping kit would be awesome! Thanks for the help either way.
Its the missing piece that will make it POP good luck!
I am doing exactly what you put in the video plus a per-emergent to stop some of these winter weeds from coming up since I'm in a very warm climate.
Nice! Sounds like you have a great plan in place 👍
I started redoing my lawn this fall, i aerated and got some certified TTTF 90/10 and starter fertilizer.
sweet! hows it goin so far??
I use a tow behind lawn vac and use it mid October through early December. I use it only to mulch leaves which I use to make leaf mold and compost. Some gets used in the garden and some (compost) gets used next fall on the lawn. I use a lime fertilizer mix 1st week of November (NY here) and might put down dimension or Prodiamine mid November. Thanks for your vids. I wish my lawn was flat enough to use a mower like yours.
nice! thanks for sharing!
and leveling your lawn will make a big difference! sounds like a big project for little reward but its a gamechanger forsure
I love watching your videos. I honestly have never cut low prior to the winter. I am going to give it a whirl this year for sure! Keep up the great content.
Thanks Jake!
Give it a shot, you will be happy come spring:)

I'm starting to learn about lawncare.
Hopefully in the future I can devise a better schedule as what and when to do it.
it would! i hope we can get it out to ya!

Great video, I add fert every 2 -3 weeks until the temp hits around 45 degrees. Light applications after aeration, seeding, and starter fert.

Very informative video! I like to mulch the leaves with a good last low mow and hit it with a last deep green fertilizer at the end of the season.
I have followed your channel since being a new home owner. For my fall prep I am planning to apply the fast releasing fertilizer, treat weeds and do a last short cut 🤙🏼
Great to hear carlos! appreciate you always watching!
I'm new to really paying attention to the lawn beyond cutting and weed killer. Been paying attention here and strengthening the lawn. Your content and points living in the area makes your input more valuable. I've gotten speedzone and will be cutting short this year!

Awesome! been doing the same spoon feeding regime this season. The results speak for them self.
thanks for watching and welcome to the lawn game!
Thanks paul!
I wish I could tell you what I do for my winterizing but I just learning and watching you is helping... Thanks!
haha we all gotta start some where good luck!
I do pre emergent, kill off any weeds, apply fast release fertilizer and mow and mow and mow. Still growing strong in DFW Texas.
wow still goin huh? thats awesome!
Awesome so happy to hear! its a good feeling transforming the lawn!
No problem bud, time to relax now:)))
I just sowed a kbg lawn 2 weeks ago in West Virginia, I’m trying to get all the root growth that I can to get past sprout and pout before the first frost.

@@PrincessCutLawnCare Bingo!!
Awesome! what seed did you use for the shaded area?
Yesterday I threw down some Scott’s winter guard, lightning lime, and sprayed down some root ruckus. She’s ready for the winter!
Nice sounds like you got this under control!

Love your videos. You've helped me a lot in my lawn reno. As for what I do to prepare for winter, in early fall I put down an initial fertilizer and weed control to get my lawn thickened up. I find that it is usually enough to get me through the winter and green up in the spring.

Good advice and I'll add one. I like to do one last lawn edging. This way when the snow comes my driveway and sidewalk still have nice clean lines after I shovel.
Yes! I like that!

The last three years in the fall I found spoon feeding the lawn with a higher K fertilizer has been a game changer for me. Good, deep color going into dormancy and the first lawn to green up.
nice which fert do you use for that?
I mulch my lawn clippings and cut it short at the end of the season. I haven’t tried putting down some herbicide, but I may try that this year.
