    I have a few tips....
Remember people actually live here & that we need to use our roads for getting around..
Do NOT get in my bloody way on the single track road through the Torridons..
Or cycle two abreast while dressed in black without lights & then refuse to get out of my way on ANY road I drive on.!
Please stop renting massive camper vans from Inverness & then driving them on the tight roads round my village... (Especially if you have trouble parking your little city car in an empty Tesco car park... You will hit another identically baffled camper rentee... Most likely right in front of me.!!!)
Stop treating my driveway entrance as a convenient place to park...
Stop using my rubbish bins, the council only empty them every fortnight..
On the topic of rubbish.. TAKE IT HOME WITH YOU... IT'S YOURS.!!
    .... .... .... .... ....
Enjoy your holiday around Kinlochewe.... While staying out of my way. 😉

Why can I do this, because one I am used to it, and two because I am a large guy and strong at 62 years old. Each person individually knows his ability and strength, and endurance. there are multiple people every year who die in the Hills in the Highlands of Scotland due to hypothermia (getting too cold) and that's not even in winter, also people fall down sudden cliff or off ridges.. the Scottish Hills are extremely dangerous.. visibility can be reduced so much that you'll lose the path and can end up going in the wrong direction.. also when snow hits then the paths are NOT visible at all so you BETTER have a compass and an idea of what direction safety is in.. you can walk down a hill but then find you are on the uninhabited stretch.. and MANY people have died when snow came in unexpectedly, even those with proper gear.. visibility goes to ZERO real quick, not an exaggeration, you won't have a clue where the path is or what direction to go in once snow comes in
if you think the hills of Scotland are safe to walk on you clearly have no idea of the reality of walking on Scottish hills, people die up them in the summer even, from falls and exposure to the elements
so make sure you pack PROPER outdoor clothing and that you have a compass and knowledge of what direction safety would be in
also please stop renting motor homes and buying all your groceries before you get to remote areas.. you end up just using local roads and resources, blocking up access and slowing people down and spoiling the beautiful spots and you don't even bring any income to the local areas.. we are getting fed up with mass tourism.. it does not bring money to local areas and it pushes house prices up massively due to people buying so many second homes that they then don't use most of the year, or use as holiday rentals, which leads to local people having NO options for long term house rental to actually live in areas
and if you are in a small community PEOPLE SAY HELLO TO EACH OTHER so don't bring your city ways of stareing at the locals then not responding when they say hello.. that is SO rude, especially if you keep on stareing. we are not Disney exhibits and we are sick of mass tourism as it brings VERY LITTLE income to most people in areas that were previously lovely and quiet
to be honest.. just stay at home.. We are sick of mass tourism and it brings most people very little income, and low paid service jobs at best and a hugely increased price housing market where people are buying houses but not even living in them which reduces income to an area too
the negatives of tourism far outweigh the positives, long term, for Scottish people in remote areas.. so at least be HUGELY friendly to the locals whose space you are invading
and DO NOT LIGHT FIRES AGAINST OR UNDER TREES for goodness sake.. the amount of times I've seen fire damage on trunks of trees by morons who think it's ok to do that..
to sum it up.. please just stay away.. it was better before mass tourism
AND DO NOT EVER EVER EVER POST LOCATIONS OF GOOD SPOTS WITH MARKERS ON GOOGLE MAPS or RUclips videos or instagram etc.. you do not live in that area so DO NOT create an easy way for people to find real treasures of beauty spots.. you won't be there in the future when hundreds of people every day turn up at the spot that used to be sacred peace to the locals
you are ruining it for the locals who put years into building lives there that you are destroying the peace of with your motorhomes and litter and rude antisocial ways where you don't even say hello but stare at us
just stay away.. but NEVER EVER EVER POST LOCATIONS OF REAL BEAUTUFUL PLACES FFS it ruins it for the locals
let people find places by their own efforts, like it used to be, that way it'll be quieter in the real amazing spots.. i told a Ranger about a special place once and they posted it on their social media and ever since that moment every time i go there to where it was pesceful there are dog walkers and people trashing the place
and if you have a dog then DON'T LET IT WALK AHEAD OF YOU IF IT WILL BARK AT ONCOMING walkers.. and if it DOES bark at oncoming people TELL IT IMMEDIATELY TO SHUT UP AND MAKE IT STOP BARKING.. it is EXTREMELY distressing to be on a walk and then someones dog is ahead of them and gets defensive and gets aggressive (and then to be told it's "not aggressive" , once one was biting my ankles when i was being told it was not aggressive!!!) so keep your dog on a lead if it is going to get defensive when it is running ahead of you.. it is HORRIBLE to have to deal with a dog being defensive just to be told "it won't bite"... WHY THE HELL SHOULD WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT BEING AGGRESSIVE.. MAKE YOUR DOG STOP BARKING immediately if it is barking at someone, it is a criminal offence nowadays for a dog to even make a person THINK they might be attacked, and your dog barking at a person when they are walking towards it is NOT something you should just expect people to be ok with and expect them just to let the dog bark at them.. how would you like it if the person came at you barking at YOU??? you would soon think it was an aggressive act, SO DO NOT EXPECT PEOPLE TO HAVE TO PUT UP WITH YOUR DOG BARKING AT THEM, NOT EVEN ONCE, WHEN YOU ARE OUT ON A WALK.. if they are just out walking it is COMPLETELY out of order of dog owners to just expect people to be ok with a dog barking at them.. you should not put people through that, they can't know if it will bite or not, and from my experience some of the ones that "won't bite you" DO and it's NOT nice when it's just because I've been out on a walk walking towards the people on the path that is there TO walk on
you know what.. just stay away from Scotland.. most of us are sick of you coming here in your rented motorhomes and spoiling our beauty spots by all parking there and not even being civil to us when you are here
so just stay away.. go to somewhere else.. let us have homes we can afford to rent again, most of the home rentals are holiday lets (£1000 per week plus) that are owned by people who mostly live in England so bring no economic income to the areas from their holiday let income
so please help Scotland by if you do come here buy your food and off license booze in local small shops
and if you are driving then DON'T get drunk every night, you'll still be over the limit the next morning and too many people get hit by bad drivers
and if you are driving slower than traffic behind you and there is a que of traffic building up behind you then FOR GOODNESS SAKE PULL OVER INTO A PASSING PLACE AND LET THEM PAST.. if they are locals they may have MILES to drive to get to work and so they don't want to be going at your leisurely pace.. if you have ANY vehicle behind you for even a mile then PLEASE PULL OVER and let them past.. you are on holiday so you can afford the time to pull over every mile or two PLEASE
and if you are on bikes on single track roads for the love of god please pull in to passing places to let cars past you, that is actually law that you must do that, so they can pass you safely.. it is highly inconsiderate to keep in the middle of the road beyond the first passing place you come to if there is a car being patient behind you.. yes we give you space on the road, to be safe, but please extend the courtesy to car drivers by actually pulling in to let them past when you get to a passing place.. and DO NOT expect us to pass on the road, we would be legally liable if we tried to pass you on a single track road.. so pull in at the VERY NEXT passing place that comes up EVERY time a car is behind you because we are trying to be safe by waiting for you to do this.. and the car driver may have a journey of several hours ahead of them so please don't keep on expecting locals to fit into your leaisurely holiday pace when you are driving cars, motorhomes, or bikes, pull in to let locals past if they are stuck behind you due to your slow pace.. we have hours of journey ahead of us so we'd appreciate you being considerate to us
but basically please just stay away, we are getting sick of mass tourism crowding up our home areas with very little income coming to us as most tourists buy all their supplies in cities then use our resources and don't even say hello when they stare at us
    thankyou
