Best live version of this song. Unbelievable. Ian’s voice has gotten better with age for sure. He has developed a nice rasp at the top end. That Suhr sounds fantastic, what a tone.
I agree. Ian's voice has matured so much over the last 25 years. Probably in my top five vocalists of all time, my top five favorite guitar players of all time. Both his voice and guitar tone compliment each other very well, and they compliment his playing style.
thanks for awaking my restless spirit of music, she has been asleep for a spell....... break those chains that keep you tethered, keep you safe.................
I have loved this band since 1991. The bass player and his parts though…..🥰 sooooo goood (and yeah I’m a drummer, yeah I love this drummer too and the whole band) Master-level bass-guitar writing/playing.
tremendous song... when i heard it for the first time... i thought it was chris cornell... his voice is very similar... i'll follow you on Spotify 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
+Fancy FA One might see it as mostly 8/8 with a few bars of 7/8 around the 1:50 mark. It is played a little differently than usual so it sounds kind of like 7/8+1/8 on the regular verses though.
Yeah it's 4/4 all the way. A couple bars of 7/8 in the verse but it keeps coming back to 4/4. The weird accents make the drum beat seem like a different time signature.
Ian I wish we could've talked more at the show in Moncton N.B at new years this year , got to talk to chuck great guy great drummer ... ask chuck sometime of the video I had of my youngest boy singing Albatross , he copies your every move !!
How many songs do they do at each Suhr appearance? This is the FOURTH song on You Tube. There were four songs from last year, so will there be any more song? PLEASE SAY YES
+shokid there'll be always oppositive, don't think about it ;) If they go on with what they did right now, they'll be real big one Day ! Check the Sound of Blown Wide open and Lady Like ;)
+Mike Springwald I've seen them quite a few times, been a fan since the first album in the late 90's, just don't understand why someone is disliking this. Sounds so good.
I would like to think the people smart enough to love Big Wreck, know how well constructed and intricate (although seemingly easy and effortless from the unbelievably talented members) their music really is. Great band and great songwriters!
Alex Scott, I'm a guitarist, so I have good rythym. Only real difficulty now is the one part near the middle where they switch the base of the tempo (sorry for my English) it's always 4 , but then it goes 4-3-4-3 this one time in the second part of the second verse
Big Wreck is definitely proof that you can't become world renowned on legendary talent alone.
Bob Dole says that Bob Dole likes Big Wreck.
@@kuntymckunterson Bob Dole approves this message.
So true it's sad. I bet millions of people know who that catch me outside girl but just a small fraction know big wreck/Thornley
I just picture a WWII hero holding a pen.
Sorry
The fact that this only has 1k likes is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. Ian and Big Wreck have been genius from day 1.
I mean it's tragic that 99.99999% of the human race will never hear Big Wreck. Their top 10 is absolute masterclass
❤❤
This take is perfection for a live performance. That 12 string just kills it. So does Ian's voice. OK, they all kill it
Big Wreck makes rock beautiful. It really is remarkable!
I love the bass line for this song. A totally underappreciated band.
Dave is a beastly bass player, one of my favourites!
One of my favourite songs in the world. Thank you Ian Thornley and Big Wreck!
Mine too. The chorus is epic.
me three
Mine as well. So good. Chills everytime I hear the chorus. So much emotion in Ian's voice.
2:57 the bassist loved that drum fill, as did I!
I love the little run he throws in so casually at 2:27.
...bass players dream, chance to flavor the recipe
Rest In Peace Brian 😭💔
A know total heart break. He really was a player's player. Loved watching him just as much as Ian, the long blonde hair looked so cool on him too.

One of my favourite songs by one of my favourite artists. He’s a true master on guitar
This song is so gorgeous.
I love this band! I found them after I bought my Suhr guitar a few years back. What talent! I could listen for hours and hours and hours.
Beyond outstanding
I fkn love you guys, your songs are a treasure.

He a awesome bass player. He moves around that fretboard so freely. Nice.

Live is the test of talent
This is an amazing performance of one my favourite songs ever!
Would love a live album!
Front row center baby! What an awesome show! #TXlovesBW
the BEST harmony sound and skill. Incredible
Super underrated band.
Awesome!
Just fuckin’ incredible
Fantastic stuff -- they crush it live. Great tune.
Man, that was awesome.
I really like the time signature of this song!
Might sound dumb, but what time signature is it actually in?
+Fancy FA

+KwinsieGrooten the second half of the second chorus isn't 4/4

Yup 3 over 4 feel or (7/8 feel) sneakily done in straight 8 s….until, sneakily, it IS in 7/8…until
i tried singing this..geez that chorus is impossible to hit lol love this song
Perfection.
Yep yep yep!
Great album!! Awesome tune!
another golden one ohh yeass
GREAT Rock Song, Thxs.,Merci.
Was in a dark place in my life when this came out
Sounds amazing
Great music, great vibe!
AWESOME PERFORMANCE, but something was missing.... ME!! :D Wish I was there
Ian I wish we could've talked more at the show in Moncton N.B at new years this year , got to talk to chuck great guy great drummer ... ask chuck sometime of the video I had of my youngest boy singing Albatross , he copies your every move !!
Unreal.

People are just standing and watching...??? wtf?
Big Wreck is a supergroup!!!
They might be in awe
@@TurtleRocker12 ha ha , I was thinking probably stunned. I would be.
Fuck that was impressive

they kick ASS !
when they will come to Brazil?
Figures I'm #666 of the 👍's up. I'll have to check my body to see if I'm stamped with such a beauty of a number.
Matt Damon on bass
DOGOID that’s funny. I see that too.
McCauley Culkin...
May not seem like it but that drum line is incredibly difficult to play without fucking up.

Thanks...
its the first song i'm trying to learn on drums... apart from just hammering beats.
Martin Girard Why are you trying such a difficult tempo for a first try?
Alex Scott, I'm a guitarist, so I have good rythym. Only real difficulty now is the one part near the middle where they switch the base of the tempo (sorry for my English) it's always 4 , but then it goes 4-3-4-3 this one time in the second part of the second verse
How about that bass work?! Daaaayum
Ian Thornley and Chris Cornell are twins separated at birth
triplets with Richie Kotzen haha
Ian Thornley is everything Chris Cornell wishes he was!!
Yeah haha
I really love Soundgarden.
"I love lamp" is all I read.
😂
You're on the wrong place hahaha 😂
