I love this app. On my Pixel running Android 13, there's a new images mode, where the app can describe images. I haven't figured out how to use this mode yet lol. I love the food labels mode, because now I can identify my favorite Oreos and ketchup flavored potato chips. No joke, there really is a ketchup flavored potato chip. This app is awesome.

It is a great app! I'm not sure about ketchup chips though, ha!

You can use the image app by sharing an image to look out. If there's text it will read the text to you. For example if one of your friends post something like scripture or have a nice day and it's on a photo come and your screen reader does it recognize the text, then you can send that photo to look out what it will read it to you.

I've had this app on two different tablets now, and it hasn't worked on either one. Does it not work on tablets or something?

I wish you would have done the last feature which is image. I have found this extremely useful. When I'm on social media and someone has shared a photo and the screen reader does not recognize the text to the end of photo I can send it to look out and it will extract the text and read the image to me, then I can go back and comment or like. If my friend send me a screenshot of a recipe, I can share that photo to look out and it will read the recipe to me. I can then use my edge panel to grab a photo and extract the text and paste it in my recipe note.

I have a question if you buy a higher end phone with better cameras, does that help the app function better or does it have very little effect on it?

    • @VisionForwardTechConnect
      @VisionForwardTechConnect  Год назад

Yes, a higher end phone will perform better assuming it has a better camera and processor.

Recently they added AI to image recognition but I cannot find image mode there... I could found it after changing language of assistant to English but it just describes the image and doesn't allow asking questions about it.

We just did a video on the BeMyAI part of BeMyEyes, and that does what you are talking about really well.

Google should use other people's cell phones as transponders to ID them.
The APP could then tell you who was around you instead of just saying, "a person."
    How hard would that be?
Earbuds would be especially useful with this APP.
With earbuds, no one would be able to hear all the advice your phone was giving you.

Good idea, there may be some privacy concerns with that though!

      You make a good point.
Women wouldn't want to put their names out there for strangers to know.
Maybe we could give people an opt-in option or something that only worked with your contacts.
You made a great video. Very helpful.

What's the point if you're not blind?
