This is terrible 😳I’ve been visiting the iconic Colorado Belle since the late 80’s and 90’s with family friends and bus tours put together from my sisters beauty salon workers and clients loved staying at the Belle we’d fill up the entire bus every time.It was always a blast. When I last visited in January of 2020 I found the Belle pretty empty most areas were already closed off it looked like a ghost town inside, and saddened me to see it in such ruin. The last time it was sold, and changed hands it just went down hill from there,it was noticeable right away.I hope something is done to save the Colorado Belle such an iconic piece to Laughlin.🙏🚐👋🏼
We've been going to the Belle for years. They once had a buffet, restaurants, and shops on the second level, but those were all closed years ago and they even blocked off the escalator. They had the best poker room in Laughlin, until they closed it last summer shortly after the Golden acquisition. Most recently, they were shutting down the casino table games during the week--guests shouldn't mind hiking a few hundred yards to the Edgewater. The only restaurants left were Loading Dock, Big Easy, and Pints, which was cutting back its menu and its brewpub operation. The rooms were sad and the elevators were sadder. But I shouldn't single that out: in Laughlin, bad elevators go without saying. We had some good times at the Belle, but closing isn't much of a surprise. The place was about 75% closed already.
Reading this made depressed. I remember the first time I went when I was 9 years old 17 years ago. I remember there was all that plus the arcade. The candy shop, dreyers, and the paddle wheel restaurant, etc. I even remember the old hall that connected the hotel to the casino. Little by little it was being closed and now it happened. Oh well I am just happy it was part of childhood.
END OF AN ERA I've lost count of the number of times I stayed at the Colorado Belle. This legendary casino had $19 rooms, a fabulous Friday Fish Fry Buffet, Poker Room where I won a Poker Room Hat! I can recall seeing the $19 sign from my nice room at the Ramada Express (Tropicana). Not to be outdone, Don Laughlin's Riverside offered $17 rooms! I can recall coupons for $10 rooms, $20 rooms, free rooms at Avi! I stayed at Whiskey Pete's in Primm for $19. The casino hopping in free water taxis was the hayday. The lights of the Colorado Belle are going out for the era of Cheap Nevada. For comparison, it is possible tuday to get a $49 room at the Pioneer (no resort fee).
Golden Entertainment owes this community an update. We support them and they refuse to let us know what the future of this property is. We all know it isn’t going to reopen, but it’s becoming an eyesore and Laughlin residents deserve better. Shame on Golden Entertainment.
So sad. I hosted costume contests at the Belle and more while working as a casino host for 12 years with the Edgewater. The Colorado Belle will be missed. Please help the 400 employees get new jobs.
Boomtown in Bullhead City, Arizona! Investment COMMERCIAL property in Old Bullhead, straight across the river from the Golden Nugget Casino and Harrahs Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, IS DIRT CHEAP. Jet ski businesses want to spread out. They need commercial property to store their jet skies. Better buy now before they grab everything up! The jet skies businesses are making BIG BUCKS and can afford to pay for more Commercial expansion in OLD BULLHEAD.
It was an amazing place I have so many memories in the place from a child playing at the old arcade to my first job being there. Such an incredible building what a sad shame to see it go this way.
Good job Sissylak how many other lives are you going to destroy before you put your big boy pants on and help Nevada! We are battle born but we need a battle born leader not you!
Let's be honest folks, this was a dump of a hotel. The walls were paper-thin and, I presume, the gangs of cockroaches and bedbugs had nightly turf wars. The casino was adequate and they had a few rare tables like Caribbean Stud. The lasting legacy of this place is the architecture, the river boat theme was FUN!
They should keep the bell open and shut down the edgewater. Then they should make the edgewater property a wet and wild. Being in between both their other properties it would bring them some good business, and create more jobs! And the place could stay open 2/3 of the year around here!
Damn. That's sad. Hopefully somebody buys it and the employees.can keep their jobs or get their jobs back. Sisolak needs to go. He's screwing up our state.
I live near Laughlin and the people that work there can't even get threw to file for benefits like unemployment I know cause my family works there Laughlin is going down hill
@@JCcreates927 I went to the bell not too long ago an yeah the whole upstairs was closed off and was definitely looking pretty grim but this covid definitely destroyed them and the entire state. We the people shoukd decide what we want to do. The government shouldn't be forcefully closing down 90 percent of the businesses in Nevada. That's suicide.
That was our go to a Spot for Years!! It will be missed dearly..

Omg what a shame ..been waitin so long for my vacation ..Love Laughlin ..❤
Are there still Koi fish in the moat? When we came to the Belle, we brought Koi food and fed the fish. Such fun!!
This is ludicrous. That's the most iconic of all buildings in Laughlin. Golden Entertainment should be ashamed of themselves for this.
Don Laughlin needs to buy it and re design it ?
Xhow do u find preaching on this phone
Don Laughlin is still alive??
@@rockyracoon3233 He’s still around, his grandson Matt now runs a lot of the operations.

Also use to visit as a kid.. glad I was able to play in that poker room before they closed..
National Indian Gaming already wounded this cool river town years ago...bummer.
Radification of indian gaming laws in California and Az. in mid 90's killed Laughlin. Two biggest markets SoCal and Phoenix kaputt.
This is sad I always stay at the Colorado Belle during the Laughlin River Run😕
It was dead when i last visited, not many people there, rooms were not that great! It’s time for change
They didn't "tell" employees. They sent a cold impersonal letter. Also no offer of moving to another property was offered our even eluded to.

It was going downhill since before the pandemic. Pretty much all the restaurants had closed in 2015.
Best Times At the Bell especially their Bourbon Tower Happy Days always in My heart ❤️

They still have to pay property tax. Seems like a waste of money to permanently close it.

New grocery store opened 4 months later?
Sisolak has always looked down on Laughlin. Since he was Clark County Commish.

NOOOOOO YOUR PUTTING PEOPLE OUT OF WORK AND SHUTTING DOWN THE ICONIC PLACE IN LAUGHLIN THAT EVERYONE LOVES TO GO TO.. NOT RIGHT AT ALL 😭😭😭
Lol iconic? That place was a dump.

Thas really sad is my favorite casino to stay this sucks
There’s no excuse not to open. The curve is flat. Open our country!

Nevada is now a blue state. Democrats ruin everything.

Spend the money, fix the place. This is the landmark for all of laughlin, you ll make the investment back. Its like closing the statue of liberty

Sisolack should be impeached now!
Newsom and Whitmer too
