Cannot believe how lucky I am that found this video. I had a hundred of smd leds and I have managed to soldered 5x4 matrix on pcb board..and didn't knew how to finalise this project. Smd flash leds are blinding thou and maybe some heavier resistor will be required coz overvoltage cause overbrightness also heat and sometimes even smoke..xD
Nice job. I was looking for an extra simple circuit exactly like this one. Thanks a lot. Just one small observation: if you glue the components, then you won't be able to replace them when they burn.
Awesome build dude, i'm camping next week and was looking for a cheap efficient flashlight like this one, it is just perfect, do you think that in total darkness in a forest it will help me move short distances? just like ten meteres, from the pitfire to the barracks or a river... (sorry for bad english)
i think there are some of different sizes big small rectangle round shaped of leds in market with different volts can u suggest which one would be best
The LEDs comes with various voltage, current and colour specifications. All LEDs will work subject to change in supply voltage. The one's i used are white in color, mm in size, 3v operating voltage and 30mA operating current.
It is Hand PCB drill available on local tool shops, you can use a needle as well or you can also watch my mini USB drill video to make an electric PCB drill at home (ruclips.net/video/39xPhI6Utng/видео.html).
hello, why need resistor 100ohm.? I want to make ir flaslight, if I use ir led instead of normal led with same circuit diagram then is it work? what resistor should I use? pls reply.
The LEDs are very sensitive to current. So a resistor is connected in series (that acts as a current limiting resistor) to protect the LED from damage and increase its operating life. A 100 ohm resistor will work fine with an IR LED as well.
What voltage rating are the LEDs? Why do we need the 100 ohm resistor? ==================== In a motorbike shop... I bought a continuous 50 LEDs @ 12 volt rating in parallel connection. I use 18 volts (two 9-volt batteries in series) to power it. Its super bright.
oh wow that's a good idea! Then that can be a free energy flash light! But the solar panel should be efficient. It should generate more electricity by using less light.
Unfortunately, you neglect to mention exactly what kind of LEDs to employ. Seeking to make a simple proof of concept and had hoped your video would address the LEDs used in making a "super bright" LED light. Not all LEDs are equal. Not all are extremely bright. More information would be helpful, if you have it. Liked how apparently bright these white LEDs are...just unclear about the specifications.
built one with switch on/off, but mine is not so powerfull... maybe my LEDS are higher of voltage or what? the light that come out is comparable with the light of the cell screen. :(
It is listed on Ebay as a "hand push drill" there are various sizes. My grandfather had a pair of these one was a push drill the other was a push screwdriver both from the 1940's they were great tools, great for any craftsman, my grandafther was a carpenter, or hobbyist to have in their tool box.
Cardboard, few LEDs, 100 ohm resistor, 9v battery and a battery connector. I haven't calculated the exact time but i am using a single chinese 9v battery since last month and it is still not dead.
Sometimes your time is worth more than a hack. I appreciate the effort and thought about making one myself. Then I got my Harbor Freight sale advertisement. You get a 24 bulb LED flashlight free with any purchase, batteries inculded.
Yes, you can but LED will glow bit dim (Beacause current in each LED will be 10mA) and they will not be bright enough. With 100 ohm resistor, each LED receives 30mA of current (operating current of LED) when source input is a 9v battery.
Yes. But keep in mind, vape batteries are generally of more current than the one he used. So you would need to scale up on resistance based on the battery and the number of LEDs used..
It is made of just few LEDs and a resistor. It is very simple to make and you can easily make one yourself. Watch the video or if you need additional details or material links, you can also refer to my tutorial here - www.instructables.com/id/DIY-SuperBright-Flashlight/
I must say that is Impressive I'm going to make one thank you for the share.
You are welcome :)

Nice job. I was looking for an extra simple circuit exactly like this one. Thanks a lot. Just one small observation: if you glue the components, then you won't be able to replace them when they burn.
Yes, that is true. this is the reason i use hot glue to attach the components as it can be easily separated just by using an hot air hair dryer.
Indeed, I hadn't taken that characteristic of hot glue into consideration.
i love all the project you share
This is cool kid project!
I have a science fair coming up, I'm not gonna do this exactly but it really gave me an idea of what to do.
thanks
Its excellent, I will make one
it was very nice
very nice I will try to make this thank you so so so so so so so so so so so much
Nice made
Thanks :)
thank you for sharing
Very good.Thanks.
check my channel once
thanks a ton.
hi, would happen to have an idea on how to use powerbanks(2.1A) in this setup without destroying the LEDs?
That's very easy and good
Thanks..
Super la idea
Thanks..
very good
very talented

Yes, it does give nice light although i am not sure about power backup. Do keep some spare batteries.
just buy a $5 torch
Humberto Teixeira I think if use some more LEDs the it should definitely help you a lot
Too good
Thanks..
GOOD I like it

you should have added the keyword, Solderless to the title, highly efficient...nice video!
Thanks
i made one this for Halloweenn props i dont know how to tead your electric schematic but i got it done
very simple
you are the best youtuber thanks for letting me build this flash light I subscribed you :D
Thanks a lot :)

Can the 9V battery replace by solar panel and the LEDs light up back the solar panel?
Yes the battery can be replaced with a 3 Watt solar panel.
oh wow that's a good idea! Then that can be a free energy flash light! But the solar panel should be efficient. It should generate more electricity by using less light.
Have a good jobs Technology.

estevideo amigo como se llama la heramienta que uas para hacer los agujeros para lo leds gracias saludos .............
built one with switch on/off, but mine is not so powerfull... maybe my LEDS are higher of voltage or what? the light that come out is comparable with the light of the cell screen. :(
so if i build mine with more led lights do i need to use another resistance?~~cc
Yes, you will have to calculate the resistance value considering the input supply and power consumption of the connected LEDs.
What is the value of the resistor?
where did you get tat hand drill at please?
Its available online on ebay and amazon - amzn.to/2tycbLd
what kind of resistor did you use?
0.25W 100ohms
What is that small drill you use?
It is hand PCB drill but you can also use a needle.

can u list the materials n how long does this last
Cardboard, few LEDs, 100 ohm resistor, 9v battery and a battery connector. I haven't calculated the exact time but i am using a single chinese 9v battery since last month and it is still not dead.
🔴 GG IZI :)
what the capacity of that resisiter's....? 100 ohms or bigger than .....? is 100 ohms resister enough for these six led lights...?
Yes. It would suffice. More information here --> www.evilmadscientist.com/2012/resistors-for-leds/
(that's not my blog nor am promoting it)
Bhai a led lights white color ki kaha milati he????
These are available online on amazon and ebay.
for how much time does the battery last
I haven't calculated the exact time but i am using a single chinese 9v battery since last month and it is still not dead.
what LEDs do you use and what resistor values ? thankyou
:)
5 mm white colored LEDs and a 100 ohm resistor.
if I use 5 mm IR 12 led then what resistor should I use?
what will be the input power source??
hey can i use pcb board ?
Yes
Nyc
we use any colour led or not
Yes, any colour LED can be used but a white LED works best for a flashlight.
thanks
it is good flashlight
what is the amount of resistor used?
0.25W 100 ohm
What is that silver sheet name
It is just a food wrapping aluminium foil used in kitchen.
wow
Sometimes your time is worth more than a hack. I appreciate the effort and thought about making one myself. Then I got my Harbor Freight sale advertisement. You get a 24 bulb LED flashlight free with any purchase, batteries inculded.
how many ohms resistor i will need
100 ohms
+GOODTECH - Creativity and Science can we use 300 ohm's
Yes, you can but LED will glow bit dim (Beacause current in each LED will be 10mA) and they will not be bright enough. With 100 ohm resistor, each LED receives 30mA of current (operating current of LED) when source input is a 9v battery.
+GOODTECH - Creativity and Science ok thanks:)
is it aluminium foil used to wrap food???
yes
Hi can vape battery use for making flashlight? Just asking 😂
Yes. But keep in mind, vape batteries are generally of more current than the one he used. So you would need to scale up on resistance based on the battery and the number of LEDs used..
ok....thank you :)
hope someone make it
how do you make a waterproof one?
Enclose it in a small transparent bottle. Make sure to attach a switch outside and seal the bottle with hot glue.
Is it possible to play the light with my motorcycle's battery? Which 12v8Amh if so then how long time it will play?
Use flat hat top leds instead
