Also, curious as to the in-universe logic when you reach the edge of the map Do the ships crash into an invisible barrier or enter some Triangle phenomenon?
Had to check the rules for red hot shot, can't see it ever being used as you have equal chance of setting your own ship on fire as the target (1 or 10) and you can't use the carronade.
Red hot shot was hardly ever used on ships. Forts used them quite a bit but the danger of using hot shot on board ship was too great. The French tried it at some point but soon gave up.
@@goblintv1087 When your in 3 inch while shooting at a ship, next to the cannons there are also marines on board that can shoot muskets, that will be a roll on a D6 and does on a 4+, 2 damage. probably a advanced rule seen it a lot in order black seas battle We are all learning the game , and is great to see all ready so many battle report on you tube, so hope to see more, the overlay in video of rules was really nice job.
@@icewolffinc i Believe you are right, that is in the advanced rules - crew on board, when at such close range can also return fire - I'll check the advanced section and get back to you!
Well, the escort shouldn't have had to do the morale check because the extra blue die shouldn't have been rolled. You only get one "first shot of the game" and it was used on the merchant.
Finally had a chance to play last week and can say it will be the last time I play such a horrid game. Had a retired coast guard on my side he was in tears with how silly the move and gunnery are. Moving better then a modern destroyer with gunnery hitting with 40-50% better then WWII battleships. A nice beer and pretzels game of historical fiction for those who have no regard for history.
yeah yeah.... change of game company, Warlord Games hater.... I don't know why you keep seeing games of a company you don't like. THIS IS A GAME, no a naval simulator (facepalm).
@@themosesfactor7235 Trashed my copy of Black Seas. Tried to sell nobody buying at 1/2 price. Age of sail gamers won't go near a copy of these rules. If I want age of Sail I'll play Avalon Hill's "Wooden Ship and Iron Men" or GMT "Flying Colors". Have fun I guess :))

Goblins staff been sharing his epic gains with Warlord Games
Another great tutorial, more please...
Glad you enjoyed it - We've got some coming next week and a very special pre-release preview as well
@@goblintv1087 where those videos ever made? I looked through and didnt see anything.
Games are made for everybody to have fun and that’s all that matters..... two buds having a beer , hanging out and laughing , enough said.
These are 1/700 scale correct?
Promo images give the illusion of much larger size. 😅
Should I buy sog or bs….?
If the adv rules are in frigate should roll a dice for a dishonoured attack of a smaller ship first?

It is a little bizzare, you get to roll on the crit table anyway if you roll a 1, so, it's deffinately a gamble to load red hot - as Rich found out.

@@Groundpenguin makes total sense, it's way too much of a gamble to use most of the time ! but it's a fun gamble
What no marines that can shoot within 3 inch on the brig on a d6 ?? at17.30
I'm not quite sure what the question is - sorry.

Both parties surrendering during a boarding... not likely.

A bow sprit is a bow sprit not 🏹 sprit :)

if you had watched the first video they say its just to be a fun fast paced game.

to be fair, WWII battleships also fought at WAY longer ranges and modern destroyers weigh more than a brig did? I could be wrong on the second one.
