Fr, I understand what they did and why they did it, and it's great when watching the show, but when I wanna listen to it on Spotify, mimzys part really ruins the mood
The point wasn’t to defuse the situation. The point was to ruin the song. That’s the whole point of her character. Like Husk said, any time she’s involved things end badly.
@@SeanMania213 I didn't mean story wise, I meant direction-wise. They could choose some other moment during the song for her to "ruin it" but at least they gave us most of it before she jumped in. That's a good director's choice IMO. Waiting for the right moment to introduce Mimzy was clever, as she didn't even exactly ruin the song cause it was already over the moment Lucifer and Alastor started dishing one another in the end instead of roasting one another in song. Clever but annoying because she is who she is
I think they also do it to demonstrate the idea that Alastor & Lucifer could keep going if they don’t get interrupted which is funny as hell but doesn’t make Mimzy’s part any less annoying
i think that mimzy's part was a great introduction to her character and worked in the context of the episode, and i do not wish they did it differently. i also hate listening to it and i stop the song when she comes in. these two thoughts can coexist i think.
Yeah, Mimzy was cringe. Even during my first watch of it, I actually squirmed in my seat from discomfort. Pretty sure that was the intention though, so well played?
Now I can’t tell if Alastor if messing with Lucifer because 1) he truly cares for Charlie, 2) because he’s wrapped up with Lilith, 3) he doesn’t respect Lucifer as ruler of hell, or 4) cuz he’s an ass 😅
@@JoshquatchTV Given all of his lines in his ep2 song, my guess is that he has an ulterior goal, and Charlie is - at the moment - just a step in his plan.
The last 3 probably I doubt it's the first one I could tell throughout the whole song that he was just being nice to Charlie just to piss of Lucifer because he doesn't like that he's more powerful than him I think people tend to forget that Alastor isn't a good person and the scene with husk is proof People look the other way when it comes to Alastor because everybody hates valentino but Alastor "iS dIfFerENT"
I like to think part of it was also to (in a roundabout way) tell Lucifer "I'm an evil asshole and I've been there for your kid more than you, get your shit together"
I like to think the ending just skips to Mimzy breaking through the windows of the Hotel, causing the cut off when Lucifer says “oh you tacky.” Mimzy just unconscious lmfao
I love how immediately Alastor realizes that he’s at a power disadvantage so instead of flexing that he flexed his social status about having a better relationship with Charlie than her own father Edit: THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE LIKES THIS IS THE MOST IVE EVER GOTTEN

This is so much better oh my god thank you. But they better release a full version like they did with loser baby. Now i know that was only one word getting cut off and this is like a full verse BUT STILL IT CAN BE DONE PLEASE
It makes sense because 1. Lucifer plays a golden fiddle in the song. It is a reference to the Devil Went Down to Georgia 2. Before Alastor came into hell, he lived in Louisiana.
I wonder how much of the intro of this song being so reminiscent of Genie's song in Aladdin just by chance, or as an easter egg, giving that the way Lucifer lives with his depression is really similar to what we knew of Robin Williams. They just need to make a longer version of this song 😂
So, I know a lot of people are theorizing about Lilith and her possible connection with Alastor etc., and I don't think they're wrong, but I think the motivation for this song is more complex than just wanting to piss off Lucifer. It goes back to his own parents I think; Having been born to a Creole woman and a Caucasian man in the late 1800's, his father left them one day to escape racial prejudice. Mixed couples were a sin back then, and considering the circumstances you can assume he wasn't a very good father even when he was around. In one of the comics he even jokingly alluded to him being his first victim to Charlie, but we just don't know yet. So I'd assume seeing Charlie's father just show up after basically giving her scraps of his attention over the past 7 years (since he separated from Lilith), acting as if he's "Hell's greatest dad" (literally) and that he's gonna magically fix everything, in a way not even Alastor has been able to, probably triggered the shit out of him. The look Alastor gave him when Lucifer walked through the door speaks volumes, and they play it for humor and to add tension, but you could tell he was legitimately pissed, especially when he saw him hugging Charlie. This whole song is basically saying "What, so you think you can just walk in here and act like Father of the year? I've been here, more invested in your daughter's interests than you, since day one! She might as well call _me_ dad!", Alastor poking him every which way to, in my opinion, judge his character. I say this because during "More than anything" you can clearly see that Alastor is a lot calmer than he has been throughout the whole episode. His smile is actually closed-mouthed, which is a great indicator of its genuineness, and he looks content to just let the scene be. He probably still has a great distaste for Lucifer, but I think he "passed the test" so to speak, seeing a father clearly care for their child probably doing a lot to mollify him. So, Lilith deal or no deal, I honestly think Alastor would've acted the same.
