- The day started off very frustrating as I lost a good number of fish! the bites came but the J hooks did not do their work and as soon as I changed over to circle hooks I started to land every fish that took my bait! Our plan for the day was to fish the beach in search of a variety of species like Glajoen, baardman, kob and White steenbras. using light tackle in the surf zone for these fish can be really fun and one never exactly knows what specie is going to eat your bait next!

Awesome fishing. Yes sometimes one casts way over the fish when they are actually at your feet. Nice Galjoe wow.
Picking up tips from knysna. Love it boys!!!
Going to Knysna next weekend (staying at Under Milkwood) and thinking of taking my light set up to do some "jigging" and lures. Where would you suggest I try my my hand?
Awesome vid 🎉
Excellent video Xander - thanks for the tip with the sand spike 👍 I usually have it facing a bit forward but your explanation makes so much sense to get a better hook up 👌

Got a question for you and the guys.
Fishing permits. Where do you guys renew yours. Not 1 single post office near me. They've all closed down. How do you all, renew yours.
Ps
Nice catches man👍👍👍
here in Mosselbay we still have a post office that still works, so maybe check the post offices where you would be fishing if you don't stay near the coast.

Ek dink ek is nou op datum elke vidio ge kyk Zander jy moet nou laat waai met daai videos
Gday Zander what’s that clip you have attached to your braid leader
Hi Xander. What is that snaphook for that you were putting through the eyes?
I got a rovex big boss 8000 with daiwa 65Lb braid 220m on the reel donu think that it is enought line or should i opt to buy a bigger reel and some how transfer that line and use it as a tipe of backing ? Your help is appriciated. Keep the good content❤
you should be fine, I'm guessing you would be targeting galjoen and Kob? if not and it would be sharks or rays you might need a bit more braid
What was the measurement on the bigger gallie
I noticed that you tied your clip directly onto your braid. Firstly, what knot did you use. Secondly, is this so you can use a pre made trace, leader with running sinker the hook snoot. I always FG knot braid to leader, clip then trace. So then it always detracts me from using a sliding sinker and re-tying
Hi Steve, yes I tie a quick release clip directly to my braided leader with an figure 8 knot that I use 6-8 turns instead of the normal 3 turns. This is to switch between pre-made traces quick, without shortening my leader by tying a knot every time. I don’t use a full slide trace only a semi slide except when I am fishing for galjoen or amongst the rocks. Then I fish a fixed trace.
Thanks Xander.
