- One of the bright spots amongst all the bleakness of Custodia is the endearing character Redento. His humble and pleasant demeanor is truly a joy and gives us a break from all of the pain we see everywhere else in the game. The story of his order though, is a little bit different. Let's take some time to go over the history of the Barefoot Rule as well as the story of Redento told in Blasphemous!

I would like to dedicate this video to my friend, Nicholas, who always mispronounced a work colleague's name as "Redento" when it was nowhere close to that and we were pretty sure that name didn't exist. Upon the release in this game, he was vindicated because Redento turned out to be a real name.

Well, Redento actually means "redeemed", and like many names in Blasphemous, is more of an adjective in Spanish.

This is silly to think of, but what if the jug around the pilgrim's neck is full of water? I mean, they still need to eat and drink...
Edit: New Take. It's sacred wine. The "blood" we see around his body is the spilled wine after he collapsed to the ground and his jug was shattered.
I found out this game is based heavily on Spanish Holy Week, that makes it cooler
I read about what inspired the creators for the direction they went for designing the world and all that. It's a good read.

It's sad people didn't stick around after you got done with the LISA videos, this channel really does have potential. Also, I've been amazed since those videos how you seemingly manage to reply to almost every comment, massive props.
Well, being inconsistent in uploads and not making things that viewers are interested in will do that to you! Lol. But replying to comments is the best part, imo. I love hearing people's viewpoints and opinions and stuff as it can help me see things in a totally new way. Plus, I really appreciate the time people take to watch, so taking the time to make the Thank You a little more personal is worth it to me!

I knew you would do Blasphemous. I don't know why, I just had my suspicions that it was a real "Squatch Gaming" type of game.
Plenty of stories to cover! Only thing is others have already covered them, so there won't be much I'll be able to add. Lol. But this is still good fun, and there's a Free DLC coming out at some point this year (or so the developers say) that might add more! That should be fun!

Draco, judging by all the comments you've left, I feel like you must've watched nearly every story video I've done on the channel. Lol. Appreciate you watching! Hope you've enjoyed what you've watched!
As for your questions (going from oldest to newest):
1. We don't know for certain. Providence might've told Mithrix he wanted to stay, and Mithrix brushed him off. Maybe he knew that he would say no. All we know for certain is that Providence wanted to stay, and locked Mithrix on the Moon to stay.
2. Again, we don't know for certain, but for this one, I would probably just say for "gameplay reasons." Not really satisfying to not have a cool boss fight to end a game with, is it? Lol. An in universe explanation might be that he was arrogant and didn't think he'd die, but he obviously underestimated them.
3. They may have accepted it, but ultimately couldn't do anything to end Ibzan's punishment. It was one that was bestowed upon him by a higher power than the Flames, or by the rules of the Universe. We don't know exactly. Also, the Flames might have forgiven Ibzan, but after seeing him try to get back to the Mortal world, deemed him too dangerous to continue to "live" and decided to have a Reaper end him.
4. Yup, sure seems that way!
5. They probably walk, but they have to find their way through the numerous death traps everywhere! Haha.
