This is one of the best videos testing / showcasing bike engine performance and the "usable" power. Can you do a another one for acceleration in 6th gear from a very low speed (say from 20 km/h)?
@@JDM-accelhub you're welcome. I said 'one of the best', but it's actually the best. I haven't seen any other testing videos that would be as detailed.
I’m old school, biking in the eighties when two stroke was king. I remember having a go on a Honda Superdream 250 twin, I thought it was only on one cylinder it was so slow! I can’t believe the power output of this thing.
I tested one in April & it had less torque than the old ZX2R . Also doesn't rev as hard. . Gearing is about 9 percent lower . The Akrapovic exhaust is not well suited to these ZX25R's . The dynamometer testing showed 37 HP at the rear wheel . This has a lot to do with stricter emission laws .
Yeah, but Akrapovic did a new exhaust specific for the zx25r, they even posted a video of it, and about the power, straight line pipe and tune should easily fix that, there's a vid showing a tune making the bike 54 hp
Tip: if you want the engine to not wear out for a long time, then 1) do not accelerate the engine strongly until the temperature is felt at least 50 degrees Celsius (ideally 80-90 degrees); 2) the unbearable engine speed is higher than when reaching the maximum power (in your case it is 15500, the gear shift and acceleration time will be even faster). Already at 16000, the power will drop, and engine wear is heavily supplied! 3) also the critical value of engine wear, oil quality and cleanliness of air supplied to the cylinders! Change the oil and filter on time (and never install a zero-resistance filter). 4) do not accelerate without engine load (at neutral speed). Avoid running the engine for a long time without load. Translation via Google. Updated 5) Also, the correct running-in of a new (or after a major overhaul) engine is critical! The first 2000 km (especially the first 500 km) avoid high loads (no passengers) and high engine speeds (in this case, driving in higher gears at too low speeds is even worse). And do not forget to change the oil after break-in.
@@gathercraft5516 Engine load - when the engine does useful work, for the vehicle, this is the transfer of power to the wheel. The vehicle's engine is running unloaded in neutral (either with the clutch depressed or with the wheels spinning in the air). The operation of an internal combustion engine without load is operation with a greatly reduced pressure in the cylinder, while the piston rings are much worse pressed against the walls of the cylinder. This leads to local overheating of the piston and piston rings (the cylinder temperature remains normal). The piston can burn out, and the piston rings become soft and lie down (compression and power drop, oil consumption begins).
Revving it neutral really doesn't do much with these kinds of engines. Running them in like a granny is also bad since you will glaze the bores. Just ride it normally.
