Hey....thanks for the review! I could be wrong but i believe they count the flags as 4 pieces and their little rock mound stands as 4 pieces....to get to the 202 total pieces. Mine is my absolute favorite set....lol....so far.
@@JB-js4xi Ahh, that makes perfect sense! The other sets I've reviewed so far don't count the flag bases - initially as I began this channel I counted the bases, but ended up with extra pieces and determined that the flag poles, along with the bases must be counted as one piece. I don't know why I didn't consider factoring those in this time! So 202 pieces it is! And this set was a fantastic suggestion. Thanks!

I got this set years ago, now I’m much older and learned to paint miniatures but I still love having these guys around. So many options for how to paint them...for the price they’re not terrible quality, most of them are usable as long as you clean up the plastic flash with an xacto knife
Little bit of history on this set: it used to be sold by a company called Hingfat, and the figures were clones of the World War 2 Airfix sets. At some point in the 2010s, the Japanese and the British were remodelled to the higher definition figures. It appears all of them are now these new sculpts. The poses were initially designed to be parallels of each other. Every nation had a machine gun, a standing rifleman, a kneeling rifleman, officer, etc. In my opinion the new German and American poses are horrible. The detail is there, but the Airfix clones are classic. Half of the infantry aren’t aiming at the enemy. The American helmets look too small. I hope you can still find the older poses together online somewhere.
It’s a cool set for young kids. When I was younger I collected the Airfix & Matchbox WW2 sets which were high quality plastic figures with great detail. These are less quality but cheaper. The only odd thing is the German flag is the modern flag of the German Federal Republic not the Nazi flag of WW2
Hey Call of Plastic! Just wanted to point out that the german soldier prone with the bren gun is not that far from the truth. The Bren was derived from a Czech weapon, the ZB vz.26. The Germans adopted it as the MG 26(t) and it remained in service until the end of the war. During the early years of the War it was particularly associated with the Waffen-SS, who had limited access to more modern weapons until after the invasion of Russia. Others might find it silly that theres a german that comes with this bucket thats prone with a bren, I personally love it and pretend its the ZB!
Thanks for the intel! I value informative feedback. I researched this fact after a similar comment. I learn something new about that time period all the time.
FINALLYYYY!!! I REAL review if this set!! Been looking for a good one, since i want to get these to paint and base and mini wargame with my roomates for cheap wargaming armies :D
I got my toy soldiers at Kmart a long time ago when It was around And that was my first set my 2nd one was at HomeGoods for 8 dollars and my 3rd and 4th ones were at hobby lobby so you can go to one of these places if ur looking for toy soldiers also at hobby lobby they sell planes tanks but u gotta build them
Wow, they really changed up the poses, especially the Germans. These were all just matchbox clones at one point. Looks like I'll need to get a new bucket of these.
Earlier productions actually had the German prone machine-gunner wielding a Mg-42. Older reviews and pictures can confirm it. I dont know why it was changed in more recent versions. By purpose or accident idk.
This set look amazing... I was kinda worried because there is a company who copied this design and made them flat, which really sucks because they have awesome detail.
Just for clarifacation, the bazookaman on the German side is carrying a Panzerfaust and not a Panzershrek. the Panzershrek is a disposable rocket launcher while the Panzerfaust is a permanent weapon
The German machine gun that is in the prone position actually has a German-made Madsen light machine gun not the Bren gun however, you are still right about him not needing a battle-buddy.
I bought 2 variants of this set, mine I think were just slightly higher quality, or maybe not. I use these Americans as Australian and New Zealand, British and Tan Timmee as British, Japanese as Japanese, but after 70 years and Godzilla movies the Japanese have joined the Allies, German and Grey Timmee are Arab Alliance! LOL
Hi Call of Plastic. Nice review of this SCS Direct bucket. I have bought UK versions of this bucket in the UK. and also looked at your link to Amazon. What I find frustrating is in the German range of figures, in your review, there appears to be several more sclups. For instance in the Amazon bucket, there is no mortor guy and the UK have a mix of Germans in jack boots and North Africa uniforms ie with shorts. How do I get the bucket with the contents you have with all Germans wearing constant uniform ? Many thanks, keep up the good work, Regards Dan
Sorry to bother you but I wanted to ask if you would please consider reviewing more ww2 models? Specifically the ww2 tank models from BMC Toys? Their artillery guns. Destroyed houses? The different types of companies versions of plastic toy army men from ww2? The reason why I ask is because living in the UK they're very difficult and expensive for me to get from this American website called classic toy soldiers. It's the only website available that sells those tank models you see but I was hoping if you could get them. Review them it would help me decide what to get. Whenever I can actually afford such an expensive order again along with the import/shipping prices.
@@CallofPlastic Ah thank you! I actually got that Sherman tank a long time ago but I've felt it's unfortunately too big to be in scale with 1:32 scale Airfix ww2 infantry. The main model tanks and what my first question related to was the model tanks by classic toy soldiers.
I think the biggest missed opportunity was not giving the Americans equal detail to that of the other factions. Other than that this set is very impressive looking!
the pictures amazon provides doesn’t feature the new german and american sculpt. i ordered this set 6 months ago same exact link and i got the older sculpts along with the new japan and british sculpts. i want them all to be the hing fat sculpts which you feature in this video. how do i know what i’m getting ?
I always just chew the plastic part that has a tape and just like literally eat it like my morning meal but I don’t just eat it I just chew it for a minute then spit it to the trash
Where Are The Extras like Ethiopia and Italy, Belgium Netherlands And IRA (to fight the British) where is the dominions (this is a joke) also world war 1 please I want to see 🙈 trench warfare's stuff
My biggest challenge was arranging the soldiers back into the bucket. Also, the flags with bases equal 202! So the set is in fact 202 pieces.

The Germans were not using the Bren Gun they were using the Ceska Zbrojovka vz. 26 light machine gun. The Zbrojovka was produced before the Bren Gun.
The flags have two parts each, so if you take them into account, you have 202 pieces.

the british look cooked
DGN's new German poses are great. I don't feel that way about the Japanese and British. They're very similar.
Ese set de soldados esta chido porque tiene 4 ejércitos diferentes
I agree!
In 8:35 the prone German machine gun is actually called ZB-26 light machine gun from Czechoslovak in the 1920s.
I forgot the mention the Bren British machine gun is a copy from ZB-26 German machine gun.
