    Let’s get lots of subscriptions for Ross, each of these videos take at least 8 hours work, for very little reward from. RUclips, get the subs up, and that will increase at no cost to us. Frankly, these videos are fantastic for golf nerds and those in the market, unbiased and not a sales pitch, rare in the YT golf creators of today

      Thanks Pud! Yeah exactly that. These are currently done outside of the 55 - 60 hours of fittings i do per week. So getting more subs and growing the channel so we could look at some for of sponsor,s like clothing etc, could pay for me to take time away from fittings and produce more content. I went from a TSR2 10* setting C3 to a GT3 setting A4. The TSR2 has a 40g Helium Nanocore A flex shaft @ 46”. The GT3 worked best with a Helium Nanocore 40g R flex shaft at 45.5”. What I saw was about a 2mph increase in clubhead speed with the GT3 and 4-6 yards more distance. I did try the A flex shaft in the GT3, but I had a tendency to leave the face open and hit a high push fade. That was also my miss with that shaft with the TSR2. I did hit 2 of my longest drives ever on the 2nd and 8th holes with the GT3. 238 yards on the 8th. For reference, I am 71 and have an ~85 mph swing speed.

    This is the most in-depth comparison of the TSR2 and GT2 drivers that I have seen! I really appreciate the fact that you did the lower swing speed to start the test, and then concluded with your normal swing speed, which allowed for a very fair test with similar results. I currently game the TSR2, and it is the best driver that I have owned. I used to game the TaylorMade drivers, starting with the M2 and M3, and have tested their newer models, but could never get along with them. I like the classic look of the Titleist drivers, but due to the marginal gains of the GT2 over the TSR2, I will continue to keep my TSR2 in the bag for the next couple of years.

I can see why average players with a TSR in the bag may be justified in saying the changes are not worth the expense of getting a new GT. Another excellent comparison review, while I do appreciate that there is considerable variation in swing speeds between golfers, I much prefer when you swing the clubs at your normal full speed as these tests provide more accurate results of performance, ideally it would be better to have slower swing speed golfers to test clubs swinging at their own normal speeds.

    Nice review, as usual.
    Nice to see that Titleist was able to get incremental gains in all aspects compared to the TSR, but it will be also interesting to see how significant are the gains when you compare the GT to the older generations like the TS or the 917 series.
    At the end of the day, most of the golfers are not replacing their drived every one or two years, but more likely every 4 or 5.

      Yup, I had the 910 D2 and I play about 5-10 times per year so it didn't seem like a big deal to get a newer driver. But then I noticed that most people were out driving me by about 20 plus yards and no offense to them, but I knew I had a better swing and better contact than them. Finally got fit for the TSR3 and OMG did it make a difference. The technology drastically changed since my 910D2. I gained over 30 yards of distance and I am able to keep more shots in the fairway. I also am playing with the 695CB irons but I hit those really accurately so not sure if I will switch out those. But upgrading to a newer driver if yours is more than about 5-6yrs old I 100% believe it's worth it!!

    Seems like the strike on the GT veered more low. I think this is because of the higher headlight making the shaft play effectively softer thus causing more upward flection before impact = lower strike. Higher swing weight could also explain the right miss.

    Always love this channel cos there's no BS. Other dubious vids out there showing gains of 15 yards and I just ignore them to be honest. • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  2 месяца назад

      Thanks Griff! We try and be as open and honest as we can and test fairly. I think MOI as a number is a bit overrated if I'm completely honest. Very hard to say now much difference it actually makes. Well yeah I mean with the PMP that's definitely helped spread mass across perimeters which should help retain MOI while moving CG down and forward which will ultimately help a bit of ball speed and possibly slightly lower spin, both leading to a touch more distance. Then plus being slightly more aero. I think they've done about as well as they possibly could following up on the TSR which was an amazing driver

    I really enjoy this channel but ngl, this is the first time I've felt like I was being sold a used car. I've been a Titleist guy forever & play both the TSR2 & 3 and just tested both the GT2 & GT3.
    You hit the TSR2 lower on both the toe & heel & also hit it closer to the heel. I also have a launch monitor & granted how impressive your ability to hit both the toe & heel is, the efficency on TSR2 was impacted more severely. You know that & yet continued to suggest otherwise. Maybe it was an oversight but you appear to be a damn good fitter so... Anyways, my testing showed a fraction more club speed for GT, (as you mentioned, aerodynamics) efficency was a push & the GT was a fraction more suseptible to a left miss but fought it off pretty well. Hopefully no hard feelings, just felt like it needed to said. Cheers

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  2 месяца назад

      Thanks, glad you enjoy the channel. Well lower in the face is more efficient than high, so if anything from an efficiency perspective that could hav even given the edge to the TSR. However high in the face is obviously longer because of the higher launch and lower spin. So swings in rounabouts. And yeah the TSR was a bit more in the heel but like 1-2mm. So about as fair as I could make it as I'm not a robot. Even with that my summary was still its hard to say if thee is a differnce on mishits. So i feel thats pretty fair.

      I fitted almost every day for 2 years with the TSR drivers and there's no issue with mega low spin off high toe. Well, not worse than any other driver out there. If someone suffers from a low spin high toe divey ball flight it's likely it's a closed face at impact which helps create the toe strike in the first place but also shuts down loft and creates even less spin. Any head would do the same imo. Is the GT any better. Possibly marginally but very hard to say for sure. But again there's definitely no issue with that from my opinion 👍

      imo the older Titlesit drivers weren't the best. So a certain improvement on off centre hits in terms of ball speed retention and spin retention. In terms of overall yardage it really depends what numbers you currently get out of yours. In terms of how well it's fitted to your delivery and what launch and spin characteristics you get out of it. If it isn't great you coud expect 10 - 30 yards. GT - Wider dispersion circle and one yard longer total at full speed.... hmmm.... I'd say if you have a TSR2, you'd prob be a bit crazy to drop $700 for VERY marginal gain. PS: The MOI on the GT is lower too.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  2 месяца назад +3

      Dispersion is all me, nothing to do with the club. And I agree with you. If you have a well fitted TSR the extra you get out of the GT probably won't be worth the £579 to most. But that does depend on the person. Lots of people have plenty of fun spending money and that amount of money is nothing to them. So they may well buy a new one for 5 extra yards, plus better look, feel and sound. For me I wouldn't game the TSR2. But I like the GT2 so much it's going in the bag. So for me it's a pretty easy win for GT.

      I've tested GT2 and GT3. I have gamed a TSR3 since release and the new GT feels and sounds better. Also the new lines on the face help with alignment. Performance wise spin was much better on mishits than TSR. TSR and GT may look similar but great improvements have been made in feel, sound and performance in GT. All this together is more than enough reason to upgrade. Personally the better sound and feel alone are enough for me to upgrade!

      PGA Tour players are good enough to have that luxury. When it comes to driver 99.8% of amateurs are super happy to strike the ball reasonably well and keep it in play. That's always goal number 1

      Unfortunately not Will. When we first set up we did have everything for lefties. But where we are more specialist and have a large offer of equipment it cost us a lot to have that offering for lefties. In the first couple of years we only saw a handful of lefties. So it was essentially losing us thousands, so we decided to stop. Maybe when we get bigger and grow we will probably add it back 👌 probably looking at Precision golf is your best shout
